“Ants, let’s see how you can turn the tables this time!”
The arrival of the remaining four half-step Seventh-rank Parasites had clearly been expected by the leading Centaur Parasite. Across his face, where crystal formations flourished, pure arrogance shone without restraint, and his manic laughter boomed across the whole Temple zone.
As the foes' bold guffaws rang out, the fresh half-step Seventh-rank Parasites charged straight at Leo Ray and his allies without delay. At that point, they were still dealing with the opening barrage from the initial half-step Seventh-rank Parasites.
Awareness of the lethal threat crashing down like a crumbling peak hit hard, turning Moli's face—from one playfully arching brows just seconds earlier—into a sheet of ghastly white as her smile vanished.
It was now three battling eight, including some of the deadliest Parasites that shrugged off normal strikes. The demons from earlier paled in comparison; she'd never faced a confrontation this terrifying in her entire existence!
“Human boy, you've truly doomed us all now!”
Muttering to herself in frustration, Moli seized Leo Ray and rapidly teleported to evade the savage blows from the eight mighty adversaries.
Within the temple entrance region, warped by Space Folding, she alone retained the ability for such brief Teleportation Magic, though that was her limit.
Nevertheless, even as Moli's swift teleports left mere afterimages of Leo Ray before they flickered away, the eight dominantly strong Parasites moved in such flawless harmony that it stunned onlookers.
Each quick teleport let Leo Ray and his group sense the lethal strikes grazing their scalps, encircled by razor-sharp blade gleams and fierce Magic Radiance plummeting down, rendering the whole area hazardously intense.
Beneath the foes' frenzied onslaughts, the temple gate's flower arrangements and water features had swiftly crumbled into powder, while the even stone walkways were flipped and cracked apart, resulting in a charred, rugged wasteland.
Soon enough, Moli's remarkable Instant Teleportation faltered under constant use, particularly following the recent Void Space ordeal; her mana reserves were almost exhausted.
In these dire straits, Moli's pace slowed noticeably, which the enemies spotted right away, prompting them to ramp up their brutal, unchecked assaults and heighten the peril to a razor-edge crisis.
“Nice work, catch your breath for a bit.”
Following one more teleport, Leo Ray gestured, promptly unleashing hundreds of Tier 6 Summon Scrolls to call forth a host of Golden Armored Heavy Warriors that materialized with a valiant presence enveloping Leo Ray and his team.
This was the Tier 6 Golem Puppet called “Holy Judge,” enhanced from the Magic Scroll originally given by old Book. Its form evidently balanced attack and protection capabilities.
Earlier, Leo Ray avoided deploying them since Golem Puppets lacked the power to harm “Corrosion” entities or Parasites, and they couldn't tap into the Power of the Stars, offering zero danger to opponents.
With the pressing emergency, these Golem Puppets served only to draw the enemies' focus.
As Leo Ray brought forth the Golem Puppets, the adversaries' relentless fatal strikes pursued them, immediately demolishing more than twenty of the fresh summons, leaving no chance for resistance.
Seeing this unfold, beads of sweat multiplied on Leo Ray's brow. Certainly, for half-step Seventh-order powerhouses, casually wiping out standard Tier 6 fighters was effortless.
Though inwardly shaken, Leo Ray pondered swiftly while the surviving Golem Puppets darted about, and Moli executed another Instant Teleportation, causing the trio to vanish from sight.
Thanks to the Golem Puppets' diversion, the life-threatening bind around Leo Ray and his allies eased considerably.
However, in just a few breaths, the majority of Golem Puppets dissolved into Energy Particles under the Parasites' barrage.
“Pointless resistance—watch how long you insignificant ants can persist!”
The leading Centaur Parasite's contorted features overflowed with scorn, as mocking, icy chuckles filled the air once more.
Upon catching the Centaur Parasite's taunt, old Book and the beleaguered generals swiftly turned their attention to Leo Ray's plight.
Against the onslaught of eight half-step Seventh-rank Parasites, the tenacity and stamina shown by Leo Ray and his group truly impressed them, yet as the foe pointed out, it failed to alter the core dilemma.
Acknowledging this deep down, the generals' spirits sank not just visibly, but even Nick's aged, steadfast visage betrayed an unavoidable trace of hopelessness.
“Comrades, it is far from over!”
While shadows clouded their minds, Leo Ray's resolute words pierced through to everyone: “So long as we defeat the formidable enemies ahead, despair will not descend! For throughout the city many generals are fighting alongside us!”
Leo Ray's rallying cry ignited old Book and numerous generals, who clenched their jaws in determination, working to banish the inner darkness.
The Lord Brave speaks truth; they weren't battling in isolation. As long as fighters stood firm on this ground, the fight would endure!
“Utterly foolish, the longer you hold on, all you’ll witness is more of our troops surging towards you, even those who once fought beside you now attack you without hesitation. Isn’t that feeling wonderful?”
