Centaur parasites surrounded the defenders in Observation City with disdain, their grotesque forms instilling chills in old Book, Curry, and the guards, who were vastly outnumbered by the superior enemy forces. As despair gripped the allies, old Book rallied them with Holy Light healing, while Leo Ray commanded Sheila to unleash multiple 'Lord’s Blessings,' empowering everyone and restoring their morale and formations. The parasites launched a fierce assault, leading to intense close combat where Leo Ray and four half-step Tier 7 strongmen clashed with six enemy counterparts, blocking lethal strikes from a fishman parasite and a parasitized Divine Stone General named Peter amid the chaos.

Capítulo 2763: Chapter 1516: Ever-Changing Moments (Part 2)

Boosted by Sheila's power-up, Leo Ray's capabilities had reached a level rivaling any half-step Seventh-rank powerhouse. On the other hand, the foe's motions appeared rigid and puppet-like, since the freshly infested 'Corrosion' evidently hadn't gained complete mastery over the host's form yet.

Noticing the enemy's uncoordinated strikes, as Leo Ray directed Sheila to restrain the Fishman Parasite and aimed to overwhelm the foe swiftly, a third deadly silhouette plummeted from the sky.

This was a massively built Bearman Parasite, hurling a colossal sword straight toward him!

'This brute seems extraordinarily formidable; it's wiser to evade its peak power for now.'

Confronting the third half-step Seventh-order Parasite, Leo Ray opted against a direct clash and instead nimbly sidestepped the deadly blade slicing down from overhead with his rapid reactions.

The instant after, as Leo Ray touched down steadily and just managed to steady his stance, a fierce wind burst forward, accompanied by a sharp whistle announcing the approach of arrows.

'Be careful, Lord!'

Luckily, Sheila swiftly unleashed a volley of Elemental Bullets; though they didn't strike the projectiles head-on, the blasts altered their paths, making them skim perilously close to Leo Ray's Energy Barrier above.

'Another half-step Seventh-rank Parasite lurks; they're dead set on finishing me off right away.'

Leo Ray bounded backward rapidly, attempting to create separation from the adversary, while beads of cold sweat trickled down his brow.

That shot was brutally potent; a direct impact could have shattered my Energy Barrier entirely.

Shaken deep inside, Leo Ray turned his gaze to the fourth Parasite responsible for the arrows.

It was also a newly parasitized Divine Stone General, whose once striking pale features now displayed only savagery and iciness, as they drew back their Giant Crossbow, poised for the next volley.

'Amanda, the Divine Stone General? The legendary fallen Princess and final Royal descendant, whose bolts outmatch even Curry's in force and velocity.'

While Leo Ray fixed his eyes on the fourth half-step Seventh-rank Parasite, perspiration already dotted his forehead.

Even teaming up with Sheila, taking on four seasoned Parasites of comparable might stretches us thin, particularly since Sheila's and my Energy reserves are nearly exhausted.

'But two are fresh infestations, so maybe a faint chance remains.'

Leo Ray observed Old Book and Curry entangled in brutal clashes with two additional Centaur Parasites, giving a subtle nod. 'We must adhere to our strategy.'

As these thoughts crossed Leo Ray's mind, the Fishman Parasite and Bearman Parasite, their visages twisted in malice, lunged forward once more from either flank!

'Sheila, keep them at bay if you can!'

Without a second's delay, Leo Ray triggered the long-prepared Magical Scroll.

Infused with Leo Ray's Mana, a shimmering pale-golden Magic Barrier swiftly unfurled, enveloping the space in front of the Temple—the infamous [Annihilation Array].

In earlier skirmishes against various Parasites, Leo Ray had covertly deployed extra Extermination Array Scrolls as concealed anchors in the shadows, and this particular one housed the vital Array Eye.

'Tch, these pathetic Scrolls once more.'

The Centaur Parasite recalled Leo Ray employing this method in the Void Space Fortress, sneering in contempt. 'Just a Tier 6 Scroll—what damage could it inflict on beings like us?'

With their haughty words echoing, the other half-step Seventh-rank Parasites also sneered derisively, pressing their assault onward, showing the barrier's restraint was minimal.

Inside the Barrier's range, solely those battling regular Generals suffered marked hindrance, their actions becoming evidently sluggish.

'It's the [Annihilation Array]! Lord Brave has unleashed the [Annihilation Array]!'

Temporarily stunned, our Generals surged with renewed vigor, starting to hold their own against the standard Parasites.

'Lord Brave was ready for this!'

Witnessing the golden glow from Leo Ray, Old Book's gaze brightened, filling him with fresh resolve.

Although the pressure on the half-step Seventh-rank Parasites remained somewhat light, it sparked a ray of possibility for our Generals!

'Hurry and vanquish your foes to aid Lord Brave!'

Buoyed by spirit, Old Book battled with greater ferocity, unleashing brilliant Holy Light Bullets and Holy Light Beams that detonated repeatedly, rumbling across the field and forcing the Centaur Parasite to yield ground steadily.

Nevertheless, the rival was a half-step Seventh-rank as well; despite the setback, it wouldn't fall easily in a solo confrontation.

Meanwhile, Curry held his ground in a deadlock, grappling intensely with yet another Centaur Parasite.

As our soldiers immersed themselves in savage fights against their adversaries, Leo Ray's position stayed critically dire.

Beneath the relentless onslaught from four Parasites, regardless of Leo Ray and Sheila's fierce defenses, they were utterly outmatched, like a fragile vessel amid raging tempests, on the verge of total ruin.

Amid the furious fray, another concern gnawed at Leo Ray: the synergy among these four assailants was remarkably fluid, matching the instinctive link he shared with Sheila, surely orchestrated by 'Ruins Returner.'

Earlier, this hadn't stood out against isolated Parasites, but now, amid mounting strain, it proved the decisive burden.

Recognizing this, even as Old Book and the rest fretted intensely, the sly enemies chose to prolong the engagement, rendering aid impossible.

'Vermin, get crushed!'

With a venomous roar, the Bearman Parasite unleashed a tremendous sword wave, as assaults from the Fishman Parasite and Divine Stone General flanked from both sides, while the other Divine Stone General sealed Leo Ray's escape with a storm of arrows.

At that instant, Leo Ray and Sheila found themselves cornered with no way out.

In this dire juncture, a small and delicate pink silhouette materialized next to Leo Ray—it was undoubtedly Moli.

The moment Moli emerged, she seized Leo Ray and vanished from their spot, reappearing a hundred meters distant from the chaos the following instant.

'Apologies, Human Clan lad, I arrived tardily!'

Moli gave Leo Ray a firm nod, her fair complexion etched with gravity, yet she arched a brow playfully with a touch of mischief, quipping, 'How's it feel to be totally overrun?'

It went without saying; she was vividly recalling her own near-dismemberment by Wind Blades just moments before.

'Joking around isn't fitting now; if I meet harm, our agreements evaporate.'

Leo Ray dabbed the sweat from his brow, lacking time for more retorts as the four Parasites, eyes devoid of life, surged in anew from every angle!

'Show me your worst!'

Moli wasted no time either, allying with Leo Ray and Sheila to face the quartet squarely.

In a flash, the heavens brimmed with magical flares, savage sword auras, and Energy Arrows clashing violently in the warped void, reshaping the terrain profoundly and triggering widespread collapses in the already crumpled space, where fissures spread like cracked panes, exposing the abyssal darkness of Void Space.

With Moli's potent entry bolstering the Annihilation Array's effects, Leo Ray and allies began transitioning from defense to offense, flipping the battle's momentum unexpectedly.

Abruptly, four additional half-step Seventh-rank Parasites soared in from surrounding points, each grinning wickedly, including yet another Divine Stone General!

At this point, aside from Curry, all three other Divine Stone Generals had become tools of the enemy.

Sensing the escalating dread and killing intent, the recently revived spirits of our troops plunged into despair, faces drained of color like the pallor of graves.

All those assembled understood plainly that against such a horrifying array, our faction's final shred of chance had vanished.
