Everyone Is A Lord: My Talent Is A Little Too Strong Chapter 2741: 1505: Reinforcements and Sudden Upheaval

After repelling the massive "Corrosion" assault on Observation City, Leo Ray and the defenders, exhausted yet relieved, regrouped with Old Book and the generals to refine their strategies for the impending final battle, emphasizing joint defense of the city and underground fortress. As night fell, urgent bells signaled a renewed enemy offensive focused on the fortress, prompting Leo Ray to teleport there with his subordinates amid reports of crumbling walls. Sensing an anomaly in the air, Leo Ray opted to concentrate his tightly coordinated forces on two walls despite urgings to divide them, suspecting a deeper threat in the enemy's shifted tactics.

“Something feels off?”

The somewhat laid-back Moli missed the point Leo Ray was making at first. With a crease forming on her brow, she remarked, “Got it, that ‘Corrosion’ attack is really fierce and odd!”

“No, it’s not the ‘Corrosion’; it’s that God Stone General from earlier.”

Leo Ray’s eyes stayed piercing. As he kept guiding his powerful allies toward the wall, he scanned the area carefully while explaining.

“Are you talking about the commander called Curry? What’s the issue with him?”

Moli blinked in surprise at first, then seemed to grasp it and exclaimed in alarm, “Has he turned into a Parasite?”

“Right on, even though he showed hardly any signs, we still can’t ignore the chance.”

Leo Ray backed up Moli’s guess and ordered the powerhouses nearby, “Tighten up the formation, and avoid spreading out too far.”

“Young human, do you mean that guy was trying to split our forces earlier? That explains why we rushed to support all four walls at once.”

Moli caught on completely now, her almond eyes narrowing as she asked, “But he doesn’t display any Parasite traits.”

“Remember, in the beginning phases of parasitization, the signs aren’t clear, and with the wild energy fluctuations inside the fortress, it’s possible he’s hiding them—or even using tricks like makeup or armor to cover up.”

Leo Ray’s stare shifted to the helmets worn by the generals close by, his reply grave.

Leo Ray knew well from his recent talks with Old Book and the rest that he’d picked up key details.

During the initial parasitization by the ‘Corrosion’, while many like the White Knight get those crystals on their foreheads, plenty of instances show them elsewhere on the body, hard to spot without close inspection—especially when hidden by helmets or gear.

On top of that, though Old Book and his group had ways to spot Parasites, and Leo Ray had absorbed a lot from them, those methods relied on steady energy flows in calm settings, which were nearly impossible to detect amid the chaos of battle, not even for the Stone Spirits.

“Young human, if there’s no clear way to tell, how did you spot that he might be a Parasite?”

A serious expression crossed Moli’s pale features as she pushed for answers.

“It came from his behavior. The fortress faced total disaster, but the top commander, that God Stone General, lingered by the Teleportation Array to greet us—it felt way too planned. Obviously, he wasn’t worried about the place falling. Normally, a Deputy General or Staff Officer could’ve briefed us on the situation; no reason for him to show up himself.”

Leo Ray gave a small nod, adding, “The moment that oddity hit me, suspicion kicked in, and his push to scatter our forces sealed the theory for me.”

“If he’s a Parasite, then yeah, it all clicks.”

Moli nodded firmly, her brows knitting together, “Right now, neither Observation City nor the fortress has fallen. The ‘Corrosion’ out there couldn’t pull this off. Looks like it’s those infiltrators from before, the ones using that honey trap scheme!”

Once she finished, Moli turned to Leo Ray once more, questioning, “So, what’s our move?”

“Since they’re working to break up our forces, they must plan to take us down separately. Likely, they’ll let the outside ‘Corrosion’ wear us down, then strike when we’re divided.”

Leo Ray thought it over briefly, then replied, “Still, this is only our guess. Things aren’t set yet, and tipping them off too soon wouldn’t help. I’ve already slipped Grey Elder back to Observation City to warn the old City Lord. For now, we stay flexible and steady.”

With those words, Leo Ray’s brows creased a bit.

He’d first aimed to use Magic Communication to reach Kara, Calvin, and Nick back in Observation City, but no luck. Clearly, the ‘Corrosion’ had jammed the magic links between the cities.

“Anyway, they can’t have stashed too many forces inside the fortress without notice. If we grip these two walls tight and keep from scattering, it’ll be tough for them to hit us hard.”

Leo Ray nodded at Moli, urging his allies nearby once more.

“That’s the smartest way to play it.”

Moli’s starlit eyes showed deep thought, and she voiced a worry, “But what if the old City Lord got parasitized without us knowing?”

“We can’t rule that out, but the main thing right now is pushing back the ‘Corrosion’ outside first.”

Leo Ray kept his expression steady, though inside he felt a wave of frustration and unease.

Truth was, he’d only arrived recently, so much was beyond his grasp, and he could only fully rely on his own people. At this point, he had to proceed carefully, step by step.

Key point: both the old City Lord and the four God Stone Generals sat at half-step Seventh Stage power, matched only by Moli, Sheila, and his own boosted self.

In this setup, if even one key player fell to parasitization, whether they stirred trouble with their rank or not, their raw might alone posed a huge threat.

Just as these thoughts crossed Leo Ray’s mind, the group reached the fortress wall.
