Everyone Is A Lord: My Talent Is A Little Too Strong Chapter 2742: 1505: Reinforcements and Shocking Upheaval (Part 2)

“Crisis, Fanny, this time you’ll guard the opposite flank alongside Luther Blues, Bruno, and the rest of the elite Tier 6 powerhouses. Meanwhile, I’ll stay here with Moli and the leftover Tier 5 experts to hold the line. Stay in constant contact with me, and make sure nobody wanders off too much.”
Leo Ray stroked his chin lightly, shifting to a fresh tactical approach.
After all, the biggest danger revolves around the [Divine Stone], making it risky to split up Serena Clark, Stella Clark, and the other Tier 5 [Divine Stone] bearers across fronts.
Even though these key allies have undergone rigorous preparation and climbed to Tier 5 peak levels one after another, they still lag far behind Tier 6 capabilities, just like the Tier 5 Stone Spirits.
Crisis and Fanny, on the other hand, bring battle-hardened experience to the table, and bolstered by their Divine Stone Weapons, they can manage an entire sector on their own.
“Yes, Lord!”
The pair of Fairy Clan followers saluted with hands over their hearts before dashing off to the alternate position with the top-tier fighters.
With the setup complete, Leo Ray picked up speed and shortly arrived near the targeted City Wall.
Yet, an unexpected twist unfolded.
The booming blasts from the Magic Cannons beyond the walls fell silent all at once, signaling that the “Corrosion” had halted its assault.
Noticing this, Leo Ray and Moli shared a look of astonishment before climbing up to the City Wall swiftly.
“Honorable Lord Brave, you’ve come!”
A middle-aged Dwarf Elf General, flanked by a squad of Alchemy Puppets, approached him, his shadowed features etched with bewilderment. “The foes halted their onslaught out of nowhere and pulled back like a receding wave.”
“Things looked utterly dire only moments ago—why would the attackers withdraw so abruptly?”
Leo Ray peered over the sturdy battlements to the barren streets below the city. Scattered Parasite remains dotted the area, but no sign of “Corrosion” lingered.
“No idea here. It’s like they got some urgent alert and fled in a rush.”
The Dwarf Elf General shook his head, still baffled, while the other defenders atop the City Wall, much like those in Observation City, slumped to the ground in near collapse, utterly drained.
“Did they pick up on some urgent alert?”
Moli cocked her head before murmuring to Leo Ray, “Human kid, maybe the Parasite General warned the external ‘Corrosion’ that they couldn’t scatter our forces completely, leading to this brief pullback for a new plan?”
“The picture’s still fuzzy right now. Since the threat’s on hold for the moment, let’s link up with Crisis and Fanny without delay.”
Leo Ray dropped further speculation and guided his powerhouses back inside the Fortress.
Right as they hit the wall’s base, Crisis and Fanny’s team came back. Crisis advanced and updated Leo Ray, “Lord, when we got to the City Wall, the enemies were already gone.”
“We saw the same over here—nothing out of the ordinary?”
With the fighters all safe and sound, Leo Ray let out a long, relieved breath.
“We appreciate your worry, Lord. Everything was normal.”
Crisis offered a grin and, as though something clicked in her mind, added, “Oh, and Lord, we spotted this on the City Wall.”
At that, Crisis’s sheer wings beat softly, and she appeared to clutch an item while soaring toward Leo Ray.
But in a shocking turn, right as Crisis drew near Leo Ray, a savage Wind Blade erupted from her form, slashing straight at him.
Only then did it dawn on the group that Crisis wasn’t holding anything! Meaning, she’d closed in on Leo Ray on purpose!
“Lord, be careful!”
Xiao Jing, always alert at Leo Ray’s side, triggered the Absolute Defense Barrier without hesitation, clenching her jaw to fend off the abrupt strike.
The clash’s roar and shockwave from the Wind Blade hitting the Barrier Wall revealed power matching a half-step Tier 7 powerhouse’s maximum effort!
“Shield the Lord!”
Witnessing this, the escorts with Leo Ray gripped their weapons tighter and formed a protective ring around him, ramping up the tension in the air.
After missing the first blow, Crisis pressed on relentlessly. A ferocious gale whipped up around her, firing off hundreds more Wind Blades at Leo Ray.
And then, an even more staggering event transpired.
It wasn’t just Crisis—Fanny, Luther Blues, Bruno, and the other Tier 6 defenders from the far side all ignited with sudden aggression, bombarding Leo Ray and his escorts with a storm of spells and sword gleams!
In an instant, the Fortress, which had barely settled, erupted back into a lethal warzone.
Thankfully, following Leo Ray’s cue, Xiao Jing widened the Absolute Defense Barrier’s coverage to safeguard the escorts. Absent that, the Tier 5 allies and Broy’s Tier 5 Dwarf Elves would have suffered devastating losses.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Under the onslaught’s fury, the Barrier Wall shuddered and lost much of its glow.
“Pour everything into the Absolute Defense Barrier!”
In their stunned state, Moli and the escorts channeled all their energy to bolster it. Thanks to the empowered Leo Ray, the Absolute Defense Barrier held steady for now.
“Human kid, looks like all your followers got parasitized as well.”
Moli gripped her Magic Wand firmly, her brow furrowing as she noted, “The ‘Corrosion’ spreads its parasitism at an astonishing pace, doesn’t it?”
“This isn’t parasitism—it’s fakes posing as them.”
Leo Ray scrutinized the contorted expressions of the “Crisis” and “Fanny” furiously assailing him, replying, “The real Crisis and Fanny master Earth Magic, but these are hurling Wind assaults. ‘Luther Blues’ and ‘Bruno’ are using moves that don’t match the originals either.”
Leo Ray’s observation hit home for the escorts.
The Lord’s spot on. These figures mimic the appearance and aura of the true Crisis and the rest, down to their gear, yet their skills are all wrong.
“No hint of illusion magic here—this isn’t a disguise spell.”
Moli’s expression brimmed with perplexity as she muttered, “So, where on earth did these copycats emerge from?”
“Guessing games can wait; we’ve got to take out these frauds first.”
Leo Ray had already loosed a Thunder Strike at the foes, declaring, “No mercy—end this fast.”
Spurred by Leo Ray’s command, the escorts unleashed their diverse powers, striking back at the surprise intruders.
Our retaliation clashed with the enemies’ barrage mid-air, turning the battlefield into a whirlwind of escalating peril.
“The Fortress remains under our control after all. Daring to strike inside it—what audacity!”
Moli swung her Divine Stone Staff, warping the space to tangle several Tier 6 fakes into knots, her brows arching defiantly. “Trapped amid our forces, you’re just begging for doom!”
As Moli’s words rang out, the earlier Dwarf Elf General had rallied the City Guard, with reinforcements streaming in from various paths. Upon reaching the spot, they leveled their crossbows and unleashed a volley of arrows with savage force.
This sight bolstered Moli’s resolve. Sure, the City Guard lacks raw power, but their sheer volume ensures the foes can’t counter on two sides at once, pinned in a pincer assault!
Still, the ensuing development shattered all their assumptions.
The hail of arrows wasn’t aimed at the abrupt fakes, but at our unprepared group instead.
