Everyone Is A Lord: My Talent Is A Little Too Strong Chapter 2699: 1483: True Face and Sense of Powerlessness (Part 2)

Previously on Everyone Is A Lord: My Talent Is A Little Too Strong...
Little Jie activated the Absolute Defense Barrier just in time to shield the group from the demonic entity's slashing tendrils, which bombarded the golden wall with explosive force, cracking it despite the team's combined energy contributions. As exhaustion mounted and lanterns shattered, leaving floating golden spheres to light the darkness, Leo Ray urged a shift to offense by spreading out to target the enemy's rows of blood-red eyes. The pink-hooded mage distorted space to slow the assault, allowing the group to escape through a rift and divide into three forces for a coordinated strike, but the tendrils struck back fiercely, sending Frank, Gary, and old Gary flying while Leo Ray dodged perilously close before being hurled away, his magic scrolls vanishing ineffectively into the void.

While the strikes coming from both flanks were getting countered by the foe, the figure cloaked in the pink hood had already closed in to just a few dozen meters of the enemy, finishing the chant in a flash.

“Space Judgment Blade!”

The pink-hooded figure lifted their magic wand upward, a tremendous aura exploding outward around them.

Centered on the magic wand, a hazy gray colossal sword, stretching five or six meters long, quickly formed in the sky. With the powerful sweep from the pink-hooded figure, it hurtled directly at the adversary’s crimson eyes.

Right then, the gray colossal sword warped and ripped through the space, putting on a spectacle that stunned everyone. Especially on the blade’s surface, a subtle golden glow flickered—that was precisely the Power of Divine Grace that Leo Ray had bestowed.

Seeing this, the rest of their allies, who had been flung back, stared wide-eyed in thrilled surprise. From the sword’s imposing presence, it seemed strong enough to slice a fortress right down the middle!

“You insignificant pink bugs, daring to flaunt your pathetic tricks!”

A voice dripping with utter scorn boomed from the enormous dark silhouette. As the huge form twitched a bit, it abruptly thrust out a towering black shape, matching the sword’s size—like a massive black scimitar—to clash straight into the pink-hooded figure’s colossal sword.

The foe’s abrupt action forced the pink-hooded figure to clench their jaw and prepare for the clash.

Boom!

The pair of enormous blades smashed together in the air with a thunderous blast, unleashing a shockwave that could knock over a mighty dragon.

As the impact echoed, Leo Ray clearly spotted that initially, the pink-hooded figure’s colossal sword held its own against the enemy’s huge scimitar. But in the next instant, things took a turn.

Out of nowhere, the enemy whipped out yet another matching colossal blade from the shadows, chopping down with savage force.

Crack!

Beneath the dual assault of the two colossal blades, the pink-hooded figure’s sword broke apart in a flash and scattered into nothingness.

Killing intent boiled fiercely in the gloom as the enemy’s blades pressed on without pause. They crossed paths in an X-shaped deadly path, roaring onward at the small frame of the pink-hooded figure.

“Void Shield!”

In desperation, a translucent spatial wall sprang up in front of the pink-hooded figure, trying to halt the enemy’s strike.

Yet the rushed spatial wall couldn’t hold back the enemy’s twin colossal blades for long, and it cracked open soon after, exposing the pink-hooded figure’s form once more.

Boom!

Now, both colossal blades slammed into the energy shield around the pink-hooded figure at the same time, hurling them backward with explosive force.

The onlookers nearby wore expressions of utter frustration. Who would have thought an assault like that could be brushed off so effortlessly by the enemy?

Right then, Leo Ray got a sharp look at the pink-hooded figure’s energy shield crumbling, turning into scattered energy specks in the air.

As the pink-hooded figure’s body tumbled down like a broken puppet, Leo Ray, who had barely steadied himself, shot out a burst of violet glow again, catching her in his hold just shy of the dirt.

In the haste, Leo Ray spotted the pink hood slipping away from the figure’s face, uncovering a refined yet ashen skin tone and a pair of elongated pointed ears. Those traits made her background obvious at once.

“So she’s a woman from the Elf Tribe, no golden dust decorations, not a Light Elf, skin not gray, so not a Dark Elf—maybe a Forest Elf?”

“And that raspy tone before was fake; based on her slim build alone, she’s no burly guy, and she doesn’t look like the stocky Dwarves either.”

With that realization hitting him, Leo Ray gave a small nod and right away questioned the pink-hooded figure in his grasp: “Are you alright?”

“It’s nothing, just some minor injuries.”

In a clear voice, the pink-hooded figure dropped the act entirely now. She brushed off the blood from her mouth and leaped free from Leo Ray’s arms.

Her pale features showed a touch of unease, which made sense—she was a revered half-step Tier 7 powerhouse, after all, and being cradled like that felt awkward.

Still, she and Leo Ray both knew that facing this formidable foe in a do-or-die battle, they couldn’t afford to fuss over such things.

The moment the pink-hooded figure’s boots hit the earth, the massive black shadow’s next assault came rushing at her.

Innumerable thin roots stabbed out from the shadows, brimming with deadly purpose from every angle.

“Human Clan child, leave it to me!”

Just as the pink-hooded figure moved to shove Leo Ray away, the area around him warped, and he disappeared from view.

The pink-hooded figure knew this move well—it was the enemy’s space drag.

“So these roots were nothing but a feint!”

With no option, the pink-hooded figure dodged the enemy’s strike first, unable to worry about the space-tugged Leo Ray. He sensed the space around him blur, and when it settled, he was mere steps from the massive black shadow.

This near, under the constant shine of golden light orbs, Leo Ray at last made out the enemy’s true form.

The enemy’s enormous frame was wrapped completely in those dark, wiry roots, twisting and waving ominously in the air, utterly horrifying.

Encircling the enemy’s huge body were what looked like four pairs of curved giant limbs like ancient trees. Up front sat two blades dozens of meters in reach—the exact ones that had sent the pink-hooded figure soaring moments ago.

So the enemy’s look was plain to see: a gigantic spider draped in roots, with those front blades acting as enormous chelicerae!

“No surprise there are so many blood-red eyes atop the enemy’s head; what a grotesque display.”

Leo Ray looked up at the towering black mass, roots flailing wildly above, a chill sweat running down his spine.

From old texts, Leo Ray had long understood that demons came in all sorts of shapes, some like Demon Beasts, but this nightmarish vision was downright chilling.

All of it unfolded in a heartbeat. Amid this abrupt twist, Leo Ray had barely glimpsed the enemy’s shape when his legs kept pumping, power surging as he aimed to pull away.

But the enemy moved swifter, clearly. The myriad roots coating its form whistled through the air with sharp hisses, lunging straight for Leo Ray.

Spotting their lord in peril, Little Jie appeared again, raising the Absolute Defense Barrier. Yet the enemy skipped a direct hit, instead coiling the barrier and Leo Ray up with endless roots.

Suddenly, Leo Ray was plunged into total blackness, sight cut off save for the tight confines inside the barrier.

This hopeless feeling, Leo Ray had endured before from “Corrosion”. But then, the Stone Spirits’ special abilities had swiftly shattered Corrosion’s grip.

This round, though, no matter how Leo Ray channeled the Power of Divine Grace or unleashed those unique force spells and cuts, he couldn’t escape the enemy’s grasp. The thin roots grew tougher by the second, shrugging off every blow.

“Human Clan ant, the fun ends now; turn into my sustenance!”

The enemy’s icy words rang out, laced with deadly promise, as Leo Ray felt himself lifted off the ground, balance slipping away.

From outside, the pink-hooded figure, Old Guy, and the others watched in alarm, charging to help but soon tangled by fresh roots closing in, trapped and helpless.

In this dire moment, the pink-hooded figure and Old Guy plainly saw Leo Ray get wrapped up, hoisted skyward, and flung right at the demon swarming with bloodshot eyes.
