Everyone Is A Lord: My Talent Is A Little Too Strong Chapter 2698: 1483: True Face and Helplessness

“Lord’s Shelter!”
In that pivotal instant, a rush of power enveloped Little Jie, who had been ready to strike. The Absolute Defense Barrier appeared at once, glowing with a soft golden light, and protected our entire team.
Right after, those thin, blade-sharp tendrils sliced through the shadows, heading directly toward the glowing Barrier Wall.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
As soon as the tendrils hit the Barrier Wall, an explosive burst of energy rang out. Every impact from them acted like a Magic Cannon blast, sending powerful Energy Waves rippling across the surface.
Under the nonstop attacks, cracks soon covered the Barrier Wall in moments. Luckily, the extra energy from the pink-hooded person, Frank, Gary, and Leo Ray kept it from breaking right away.
Still, as our whole team poured strength into holding the barrier, each hit landed like a massive hammer, turning everyone's faces whiter by the second.
Right then, even a tough fighter like old Gary could tell that if things kept going this way, our worn-out team wouldn't last much longer before collapsing and dying.
It's notable that every enemy strike also smashed the lanterns we held, one after another, though the golden light orbs inside kept drifting nearby, shining brightly to light up the area around us.
But even with those amazing floating golden light orbs in sight, against the enemy's wild attacks, we couldn't spare a thought for such small wonders.
“Everyone, we must turn defense into offense.”
Just as the group felt stuck, Leo Ray's calm and firm voice rang out for all to hear.
“But what exactly should we do?”
The pink-hooded person's voice shook a bit as they spoke.
“Naturally, we need to spread out and target the enemy’s weak points constantly.”
Leo Ray's eyes fixed on the enemy's lines of blood-red eyes, narrowing just a touch.
After catching Leo Ray's idea, the team grasped it fast and got moving.
He had a point. From what happened before, those rows of blood-red eyes clearly held strong casting power, maybe even acting as some kind of special magical artifact.
Destroying them would definitely weaken the enemy's attacks a lot.
On top of that, spreading out was the only way to pull the enemy's attention in different directions as much as possible, dodging the trap of getting the whole group pinned down.
Sure, even split up, we risked getting taken down one by one by this incredibly strong foe. But staying together gave us no room to fight back, so pushing through like this was our sole choice.
Plus, Leo Ray had figured that even if scattered, sticking near the demon's huge form would let his Power of Divine Grace reach the rest of the team.
“Understood, let me take the lead then.”
The pink-hooded person focused their thoughts, their energy flaring up. Swinging their Magic Wand, they twisted the space around us once more.
As the Space Distortion grew stronger, the enemy's fierce attacks started to lag, as if the many slender tendrils were stabbing into thick cotton. Their force and quickness both dropped sharply.
“Now’s the time!”
The pink-hooded person aimed at the spatial rift behind us, urging the group, “Scatter from there!”
Answering the signal, and grabbing the chance while the enemy's strikes eased, our ready team burst forward, dashing through the spatial rift to slip beyond the opponent's reach.
Once out, the team broke into three units amid the gloom: Leo Ray paired with the two Stone Spirits, Little Jie alongside Xiao Jing, Frank grouped with old Gary and Gary, and the pink-hooded person going solo.
Following Leo Ray's orders, our forces worked together perfectly, one side striking left while the other went right, and the mightiest one, the pink-hooded person, stepped through the empty air straight toward the demon's blood-red eyes.
“A bunch of ants! You’re just futilely struggling!”
Seeing our team's bold shift, the massive shadow let out a chilly laugh, as endless slender tendrils burst from the dark again, whistling toward our three divided groups.
“Ah!”
Frank, old Gary, and Gary clashed first with the slender tendrils, and without much fight, they got hit hard and flung away, slamming into the ground with force.
At the same time, after pulling the two Stone Spirits near him, Leo Ray used skills like [Thunder Light Phantom Body] and [Thunder Sky Diversion] to ramp up his pace, weaving back and forth past the fast-closing tendrils, the sharp sounds of them cutting air buzzing close, turning the moment full of danger.
But when Leo Ray got within a hundred meters of the foe, he still took an unlucky hit and got knocked back. Thankfully, thanks to elite Buff boosts and the spread of Power of Divine Grace, the damage stayed minor.
In the midst of it all, Leo Ray also unleashed a few Tier 6 single-target Attack Magic Scrolls packed with piercing might, yet they disappeared like rocks dropped in the ocean, swallowed quick by the boundless dark, doing absolutely nothing.
