Everyone Is A Lord: My Talent Is A Little Too Strong Chapter 2695: 1481: Pressing Forward

Previously on Everyone Is A Lord: My Talent Is A Little Too Strong...
Leo Ray deployed innovative alchemy bombs, blending ancient Dwarf Elf and Earth technologies, to devastate the witch demon forces and reverse the battle's momentum. The golem puppet army surged forward, shattering the enemy lines as the witch demon leader launched a desperate assault, only to be swiftly subdued and slain by Frank, the pink hooded man, and Old Gary, avenging past atrocities against the Broken Valley Alliance. With the undead routed, the group discovered they were trapped in a spatial cycle orchestrated by the demon, prompting the pink hooded man to expend precious space magic crystals to forge a portal into a foreboding new realm shrouded in darkness.

Suddenly, without a single hint, a bizarre black glow burst from the earth under our feet. Blending seamlessly with the profound shadows all around, it created an utter void of blackness that swallowed up every one of our hovering light orbs in the air right away.

What's more, this total blackout was so dense that no one could spot their own hand right in front. Leo Ray's [Star Pupil] and the night-sight boosts from Magic Scrolls all failed completely. The only thing visible was the weak twinkle of far-off candles, which didn't reveal anything nearby.

As the already faint magic orbs snuffed out like flames caught in a gust, casting us into total night, we all jumped at the nonstop clatter of rocks tumbling close by.

Right then, even with those remote ghostly candle flames still dancing, the dark veil hid us from one another, and this eerie feeling made our blood run cold.

Deep in this complete shadow, though Leo Ray had no clue what was going on, he picked up from the noises that the golem puppets, freshly put together nearby, were now crumbling to pieces.

Keep in mind, plenty of those golem puppets had been called forth just before we stepped in, with loads of time still on them; normally, they wouldn't just fall apart this way.

“Your Majesty of the Humans, what should we do?”

Dealing with this abrupt twist, Yoyo, after a few tries at summoning light orbs that didn't work, asked in a voice full of clear alarm.

And it wasn't only Yoyo; the whole team was groping blindly in the black, clueless on next steps.

Inside this huge, lightless void, the golem puppets kept breaking down, their crashes pounding in our ears without stop.

That's when a bright golden blaze flared up ahead of Leo Ray. The figure in the pink hood clutched a shining lantern, softly lighting up the area nearby.

With light breaking through again, the strain on our group lifted a bit, and they quickly scanned the space around.

Sure enough, all the golem puppets that had been guarding us lay in ruins, dissolving fast into thin air. Just three folks, three Stone Spirits, and old Guy were left upright.

Against the former mighty lineup, this handful now seemed small and exposed in the boundless gloom.

“Though this is the work of those hypocrites, I didn’t want to use it, but there’s no other way now.”

The pink-hooded figure pulled out a bunch more lanterns shining with sacred golden flames, passing them out to the team one after another.

Once he had his lantern, Leo Ray checked the Attribute Column and saw it called the Eternal Lantern, made by the Light Elves. Legend has it that it pierces any shadow, though it's only for lighting things up.

As for the pink-hooded figure labeling the Light Elves as hypocrites, that wasn't something to worry about at the moment.

Thanks to the lantern's glow, Leo Ray spotted more details.

Across the floor where we stood, odd black designs snaked off into the shadows, the exact origin of that prior black shine.

“This is a dark forbidden formation that rejects summoning, nullifying all summon scrolls and summoning magic, even including the already summoned golem puppets.”

Staying on guard, the pink-hooded figure went on, “Don’t forget that the opponent was created by Evil Gods, mastering not only the power of space but also immense forbidden dark powers.”

“So that’s why the golem puppets collapsed.”

Leo Ray gave a small nod. After failing to trigger a few summon scrolls, his face turned even graver.

He'd counted on using the leftover summon scrolls to strengthen his odds versus the demon, but that plan was out now.

Luckily, we'd broken free from the endless night, clutching a slim ray of brightness.

Just as Leo Ray steadied his nerves to press on, yet another shift hit.

Our solid group setup broke apart every which way, not from our doing, but because space itself ripped open forcefully—a trick Leo Ray knew from before, back in the pink-hooded person's hall.

“Forcibly scattering us is not that easy!”

In a flash, the pink-hooded person reacted fast. Clenching his magic wand, a gray magic circle popped up under him, speeding after our scattered crew.

When it reached us, the growing gray circle shrank back quick, acting like cords, yanking us all together again.

Back in formation, we let out relieved breaths, but the pink-hooded person hacked hard, coughing up a spurt of blood.

“Your Excellency, are you alright?”

Leo Ray flipped his hand and offered a handful of Tier 6 Healing Magic Potions.

“I’m fine, just exerted myself a bit too much.”

The pink-hooded person didn't hold back, downing one of the potions right away.

Still, no matter his casual tone, his rough gasps and shaky build showed this went beyond simple overdoing it.
