Everyone Is A Lord: My Talent Is A Little Too Strong Chapter 2647: 1457: The Depths of the Black Fog

Previously on Everyone Is A Lord: My Talent Is A Little Too Strong...
Leo Ray led a formidable legion of nearly ten thousand, appointing Loris and Sina as deputy commanders, as they plunged into the black fog-shrouded Howling Land, bolstered by potent buffs from high-tier elixirs. Deep within a skeletal palace, the Witch Demon Leader and a towering shadowy lord dismissed the intruders as insignificant ants, confident in their million-strong undead army and the fog's empowering mists that weakened foes. As the group advanced through ancient ruins and graveyards, bypassing imposing Skeleton Fortresses to strike at the enemy's core, an unseen confinement barrier sealed the land while undead forces began to encircle them stealthily.

Deep within the thick Black Fog, Leo Ray guided the assembly of formidable leaders as they surged ahead at full speed, remaining ever vigilant to their surroundings.

The further they pressed on, the more astonishing the landscape grew.

Besides the growing number of crumbled structures and tombstone remnants, wide expanses of forsaken farmlands and desolate woodlands occasionally whipped past on either side.

Additionally, foul crimson streams oozed by at intervals, releasing a sharp, rotten odor as they sluggishly meandered, and when mixed with the heavy poison of the Black Fog, the whole vista evoked the horrors of Hell itself.

These grim visions made even Loris, Sina, and the rest who had been here previously crease their foreheads deeply, their countenances etched with solemnity.

For them too, this was uncharted territory in the Land of Howling, and ahead lay nothing but mystery and the unknown for the entire party.

Surveying the infernal terrain encircling them, Leo Ray kept his eyebrows knitted.

Prior to setting out, he had consulted the Administrator and others, but not even the Shadow Market could ferry them into the heart of the Land of Howling. This place felt like a forsaken realm, registering as empty void on the Magic Sandbox.

What disturbed the group even more was the thickening cluster of Skeleton Fortresses the deeper they plunged into the Black Fog.

At a quick look, those massive pale citadels hovered vaguely amid the Black Fog, with two or three sometimes visible all at once.

Drawing nearer to a Fortress, the team could distinctly spot the undead prowling along the Fortress's City Wall, skeletal banners waving in the wind, hollow sockets scanning to and fro, eyeing their fast-moving band with a ghastly grin, as though bound to some fatal duty.

Staring at the hordes of Skeleton Soldiers above, the companions stayed quiet, but tension coiled tighter in their chests.

The foe's Undead Army outnumbered what they had anticipated by far. In a straight-up clash on open ground, triumph was beyond their grasp.

It wasn't just a gap in power; the surroundings favored the enemy too. Each person sensed their inner energy vortex turning more sluggishly the farther they went into the Black Fog, which clearly hampered their strength's full deployment.

“Your Majesty of the Humans, if the foe decides to surround us, pushing this far in would trap us straight in their trap?”

Sensing the sluggish flow of his energy vortex inside, Loris creased his brow and spoke up involuntarily.

“That's probably unavoidable.”

Leo Ray gave a steady nod in response, saying, “However, shifting the Undead Army requires a lot of time and won't match our speed, so our goal is straightforward: strike the enemy's headquarters before their forces close the net.”

“Your Majesty of the Humans is right. Should we fell the Witch Demon Leader and the key liches, the leaderless Undead Army poses no real threat.”

Sina bobbed his head vigorously in support, adding, “Your Majesty of the Humans has bested them once already, and from an earlier plot, they took heavy blows too. That shows they're far from unbeatable.”

“Yes, on this occasion, we'll fight on until the witch demons lie in ruins!”

Recalling their wicked acts, Loris's leonine features showed pulsing veins, while a deep, rumbling growl laced with killing intent rumbled from his throat.

Loris's declaration brought silence back to the group, with nobody else piping up just yet.

Leo Ray along with the two other Commanders knew full well that an enigmatic supporter lurked behind the witch demon, concealed in darkness—that was the enemy's most chilling edge.

Yet with the squad's spirits dipping from their starting peak, the trio wisely held back on voicing this, instead mulling over potential scenarios and their responses in their minds, aiming to boost their success chances by the tiniest margin.

Rushing down the enigmatic and obscure route, time blurred into uncertainty. As the party grew accustomed to the mounting desolate vistas nearby, far inside the Black Fog and amid the wreckage, a colossal, strange pale Giant City slowly came into view.

This pale Giant City's vastness stunned, nearly rivaling the Land of Divine Favor and dwarfing the bone fortresses they'd zipped by. The lone likeness was that this pale Giant City and the skeleton fortresses alike featured walls with an odd, tiered design.

No need to dwell on the peculiar tiered build or the stuff making up those City Walls.

From the pale Giant City's core, a heavy Black Fog spiraled upward like an enormous smokestack, appearing endless. Clearly, it served as the origin of the area's Black Fog.

That ceaselessly surging Black Fog resembled a vast, warped, misshapen silhouette, icily overseeing their crew.

A vivid scarlet Protective City River encircled the pale Giant City, heightening the whole tableau's spookiness and grip on the eye.

“Your Majesty of the Humans, judging by the distance we've covered, this has to be the innermost reaches of the Land of Howling, without doubt the witch demons' main stronghold!”

Clutching a timeworn parchment map in his furry grip, Loris double-checked it over and over, then nodded at Leo Ray, “It used to be the hub of the shattered alliance troops, so no wonder the witch demons set up base here.”
