Everyone Is A Lord: My Talent Is A Little Too Strong Chapter 2633: 1449: Desperation and Astonishment (Part 2)
Previously on Everyone Is A Lord: My Talent Is A Little Too Strong...
The myriad, perhaps hundreds of thousands or even millions, of eerie white eyes crammed into every nook and cranny, stacking up to seal off the whole area completely.
“Your Majesty of the Humans, just endure a bit more; that secret passage you used to enter is the quickest way back up to the surface!”
Sina gave a nod to Leo Ray, clenching her teeth as she said it.
Her wounds were grave, and though she might blend in with those white eyes, the sinister vibe still caused her footing to waver.
Right after Sina finished speaking, an abrupt shift happened.
A massive white barrier, absent moments ago, sprang up on the path in front, obstructing their route.
At the sight, Leo Ray and his allies unleashed a storm of strikes, charging at the obstacle.
Yet this unforeseen white barrier proved incredibly tough; whenever a section crumbled, it reformed in an instant, with even more barrier lurking behind the breaks, as though it spanned the full expanse.
A short time later, to the shock of Leo Ray and his team, they realized the barrier consisted entirely of those bizarre white eyes.
For in the instant of breakage, they witnessed hordes of white eyes fracturing apart only to fuse back into the barrier, and in its solid state, even Sina couldn't slip through anymore.
With no other recourse, the party had to skirt alongside the barrier, searching for an alternative route, only to discover every direction sealed by enormous white barriers, halting all progress.
Even worse, the barrier's bulk kept growing, drawing in additional crowding white eerie eyes.
It appeared these white eerie eyes had squeezed together to a critical point, creating this indestructible white barrier.
“Your Majesty of the Humans, it looks like we'll have to retreat the way we arrived. The other exits are more distant, but we've got no alternatives.”
Sina shook her head in resignation at Leo Ray, and the group swiftly reversed course.
But it wasn't long before the worst fear came true.
The route they'd just crossed was now sealed by another white barrier, relentlessly expanding, rendering it unbreakable.
Witnessing this, a heavy silence of despair settled in, with no advance or retreat possible.
Should this persist, soon the whole zone would be overrun by white barriers, sealing their doom without doubt.
“No, we need to sever the origin of these eerie white eyes for any chance of survival.”
Amid the mounting panic in the group, Leo Ray's steady voice cut through, directing his question to Sina: “Desert Leader, how exactly did these things first appear?”
“As Your Majesty likely knows, for our Medusa New King’s ascension ceremony, the ancient Magic Stele must be powered up to grant the new ruler a vast boost in strength and magical abilities.”
Sina ground her teeth while explaining to Leo Ray, “Back then, no matter Belinda’s intimidations or temptations, I wouldn’t assist in powering the stele. Enraged, she ignored the ancestors’ rules and commanded every nearby Tier 6 Medusa to force-activate it.”
“Once mana flooded in, the stele released an odd energy pulse, and these horrifying creatures burst forth from it without warning, starting to ravenously consume all in their path.”
“Soon after feeding, more of those eerie white eyes sprouted from other spots, causing the chaos to explode uncontrollably.”
Thinking back on it, Sina’s already tense, pale features grew even more terrified as she told Leo Ray, “And the rest, Your Majesty is aware of.”
“So, the Magic Stele is the root of all this?”
Leo Ray nodded at Sina without delay, “Hurry, lead me to the stele!”
“Got it; it’s right there on that altar!”
With that, Sina mustered her remaining energy to dash ahead once more.
En route to the target, Leo Ray sensed it clearly.
The hordes of eerie eyes squeezing together nearby started to shift more sluggishly, signaling the onset of barrier formation, leaving him scant moments.
As the team blasted away the snarling eerie white eyes encircling them, they pressed on rapidly, and soon reached the altar, close to a towering white stele.
Etched upon the stele were intricate magical runes, emitting a faint, odd white glow that matched the earlier white formations.
“Little Jie, Xiao Jing, join me in striking the stele—let’s try smashing it outright!”
A surge of purple light erupted from the sword in Leo Ray’s grip, his divine grace power surging forth as he delivered hundreds of cuts to the massive stele.
At the same time, the pair of Stone Spirits unleashed their might, with volleys of magic projectiles and piercing sword beams weaving together, roaring toward the stele.
Following the onslaught, the huge stele stood unscathed, though its white radiance intensified.
Before Leo Ray could respond, the surroundings warped in a flash, transporting the group to an immensely spacious white realm.
This realm stretched infinitely, beyond the horizon’s reach, filled solely with peculiar light that induced vertigo.
Suddenly, yellow sands erupted all around, whipping the area into a fierce sandstorm, rapidly reshaping it into a vast desert—a truly wondrous transformation.
However fierce the sandstorm raged, their spot stayed untouched, while endless sand grains bubbled up from below, elevating the ground dramatically.
“Lord, look over there, quick!”
The surprised calls from Little Jie and Xiao Jing echoed together, their fingers aimed directly forward.
At the sandstorm’s heart, a shadowy elderly form hovered, prompting everyone to clutch their weapons, staying ever vigilant.
In an instant, the sandstorm halted abruptly, and the elderly figure materialized like a ghost right in front of Leo Ray.
Draped in a robe the color of sand, bent with age, his wrinkled face evoked a simple human farmer from the countryside, bearing no remarkable traits.
“Young one, are you the one who roused me?”
The old man in the sand robe locked his aged gaze on Leo Ray, inquiring.
“Who might you be? And what is this place?”
Though the elder seemed benign, Leo Ray remained cautious, posing his questions warily.
“You wonder about this location?”
The sand-robed elder let out a sudden chuckle, replying, “You’ve been within me all along, yet you question its nature?”
“What?”
At the elder’s statement, the group traded stunned looks.
A beat later, realization dawned on Leo Ray, and he exclaimed, “So this subterranean area of unique white substance is really just your bone framework?”
With Leo Ray’s revelation, the others caught on too, their expressions brimming with incredulity.
This Medusa stronghold was already immense; the ceremony hall alone could house a whole village, and it formed only a fraction of this entity’s form? No dragon boasted such enormous scale!
But the sand-robed elder’s following remark stunned them further.
“Bone framework? That’s not quite right; what you call the full underground expanse is just a minor hollow within one of my finger bones—nowhere near my entire skeleton.”
The elder’s words plunged the space into stunned quiet.
Even a mere sliver of a finger bone held such vastness; what unimaginable proportions did this creature possess? It defied all thought!
“Then, who exactly are you, Your Excellency?”
Suppressing his inner turmoil, Leo Ray steadied himself and questioned once more.
