Everyone Is A Lord: My Talent Is A Little Too Strong Chapter 2621: 1443: An Unexpected Appearance (Part 2)
Previously on Everyone Is A Lord: My Talent Is A Little Too Strong...
“Are you all deaf? This stubborn fool is dragging you toward annihilation!”
Witnessing the situation veer away from his expectations, the scar-faced werewolf was consumed by rage, barking, “Why haven't you slaughtered him yet?”
The Catman elders remained unmoved by his outburst, standing firmly behind Lannis to demonstrate their unwavering loyalty through their actions.
Though their Clan Leader was unyielding and rigid, his reputation for fairness and justice had long since secured the devotion of both the elders and the entire Desert Catman Clan; thus, they had no intention of obeying these power-hungry wolves.
“Fine, just you wait! The Lord Leader will show you no mercy!”
Realizing his current strength was insufficient to topple Lannis, the scar-faced werewolf had no choice but to suppress his bloodlust and turned to depart.
“Inform your Vice Leader that the truth cannot be suppressed, nor will it remain hidden forever. In our quest for the truth, we will not falter, even if we must march through a forest of blades or a sea of flames!”
Lannis stood with his arms crossed, his voice booming with authority.
“Such noble and impressive sentiments.”
As Lannis’s words faded, an unfamiliar male voice suddenly rang out within the hall.
Startled, the crowd turned toward the sound, only to find a young man of the Human Clan standing at the far end of the chamber, his demeanor composed and serene.
It was Leo Ray.
“The Emperor of the Humans?!”
At the sight of Leo Ray, Lannis, the Catman warriors, and the scar-faced werewolf’s group all widened their eyes in pure shock.
The magic portrait of Leo Ray had circulated throughout the Desert Alliance long ago, making his face instantly recognizable to everyone present.
“Emperor of the Humans, how did you manage to get in here?”
A white-whiskered Catman elder gasped, unable to hide his bewilderment.
It was a reasonable question; this was the Clan Leader Hall of the Desert Catman Clan’s capital. The area was heavily fortified with numerous defensive magic arrays, detection grids, and even the Absolute Defense Barrier. Not even a tiny bird could slip inside unnoticed, let alone a stranger like the Emperor of the Humans.
Amidst the chaos of the crowd, Lannis remained silent, his expression deep in thought.
“There is no cause for alarm. Look at this.”
With a flick of his wrist, Leo Ray produced the Masked Man’s pendant.
“Is that not the personal possession of Young Clan Leader Emily?”
A female Catman elder reacted with sudden hostility, shouting, “Emperor of the Humans, it was you who ambushed the Leader and the Young Clan Leader!”
“The proof is right there! Why aren't you killing him immediately to avenge your Young Clan Leader?”
The scar-faced werewolf seized the moment to incite the crowd, slowly closing the distance toward Leo Ray.
Spurred by his words, several Catman elders—including the woman who spoke—let out low snarls, unsheathing the claws they had previously kept hidden.
“Everyone, stay calm and use your heads. Even if he took that pendant from Emily, it shouldn't have been enough to get him inside this hall.”
Lannis raised a hand to halt them, explaining, “Furthermore, Emily serves as one of the Lord Leader’s guards and has undergone grueling anti-spiritual attack training. Not even a Tier 6 Peak master could forcibly extract secrets from her mind. That pendant is the only reason she can move through this place so freely.”
The Catman elders began to settle down as they processed Lannis’s reasoning.
The Clan Leader was correct. Emily had been a troublemaker since childhood, frequently slipping out to play with youths from other alliance clans, only to be caught by barriers and scolded by her father upon her return.
As she grew, Emily focused on learning how to bypass those very defenses. She had pestered the elders responsible for the barriers until she discovered a highly complex, secret path that bypassed all sensors and traps—a route where that specific pendant served as the sole key.
Lannis eventually discovered this loophole but chose not to seal it. He realized that if the Catman capital were ever compromised, Emily would be the only one capable of moving undetected, making her a vital asset.
Furthermore, as the Clan Leader had noted, Emily was a once-in-a-millennium prodigy. Her talent and Cultivation progress had shattered numerous records from a young age.
Her resistance to spiritual manipulation was so high that she surpassed even the elders, which was why the Leader had appointed her as a guard.
This meant that unless Emily had willingly shared the secret path with the Emperor of the Humans, he could never have entered so silently.
Across the hall, Leo Ray maintained his calm exterior as he saw the elders' suspicion wane, though he felt a brief flicker of tension inside.
He had indeed used the information provided by the masked Emily, who had even sketched a map for him.
However, her drawing skills were so poor it looked like a pile of tangled yarn. If not for the unique architecture of the Catman Clan and the relatively straightforward hallways, he might have wandered aimlessly through this palace, which rivaled the Coldflame in scale.
“Your Majesty, why did Emily give you her token and the secret route? What has transpired?”
Lannis’s stoic face was now etched with urgency as he pressed Leo Ray for answers.
Before Leo Ray could respond, the scar-faced werewolf, sensing the tide turning against him, shouted, “Catman Clan Leader, do not let this silver-tongued Emperor of the Humans trick you!”
“Your Excellency the Envoy, I am simply asking His Majesty a question. Why does that make you so anxious?”
Lannis narrowed his eyes and asked coolly, “Are you perhaps afraid that some dark secret is about to be revealed?”
“I see it clearly now; you must be in league with the Emperor of the Humans! That is why you refuse to send reinforcements!”
The scar-faced werewolf snarled, his lips curling into a cold sneer. “Then I shall destroy your hopes myself! Emperor of the Humans, die!”
In a flash, the scar-faced werewolf—who had already crept close to Leo Ray—unleashed a suffocating wave of killing intent. A long-handled axe materialized in his grip as he lunged at Leo with lethal force.
The werewolf’s Tier 6 aura exploded throughout the hall, causing the very air to distort under the pressure of his strike.
The Catman elders felt a surge of dread at the sight.
As a Tier 6 Two Star combatant, the scar-faced werewolf was a powerhouse even within the infamous Moon Demon Wolf Clan. He was notorious for defeating and even killing several experts of similar standing.
While the Emperor of the Humans was famous, the Humans were still considered a young race... and at this range, even Lannis, the strongest among them, wouldn't be able to intervene in time.
Yet, just as the werewolf’s malicious strike was about to connect, Leo Ray was suddenly bathed in a vibrant purple glow, acting even faster than his assailant.
In the blink of an eye, a blinding flash of lightning filled the werewolf’s vision. A surge of overwhelming power crashed into him, effortlessly tearing through his thick Qi barrier as if it were parchment.
Looking down in shock, he saw a shimmering, multicolored longsword buried deep in his chest, leaving a gaping hole in its wake.
“You... how is this... possible?”
The murderous glint in the werewolf’s eyes turned to a frozen stare of disbelief. His massive, lifeless frame hit the floor with a heavy thud.
The entire hall fell into a stunned, absolute silence.
