Everyone Is A Lord: My Talent Is A Little Too Strong Chapter 2583: 1424: Discussion and Deployment

Previously on Everyone Is A Lord: My Talent Is A Little Too Strong...
Leo Ray and his allies uncover the existence of a grand Magic Restriction protecting the world from Corrosion, a barrier potentially orchestrated by the mysterious Prompting Voice. While the Seeker warns that this defense is nearing collapse, Leo Ray chooses to spare the entity for its role in saving the White Knight and its value as a source of information. With the White Knight restored to his senses but under observation, the Lord reflects on the deeper connection between the Great Catastrophe and the Era of Blankness.

“Old Council Leader, please, share whatever is on your mind.”

Inside the radiant hall of Coldflame, Leo Ray gave a slight nod as he observed the solemn expression clouding the Grey Elder’s face.

“Your Majesty, while the data provided by the Seekers is undeniably priceless and has deepened our grasp of the current crisis and the Great Catastrophe, can we truly rely on their testimony?”

A flicker of anxiety crossed the Grey Elder’s weathered eyes as he questioned, “They are, after all, tainted by ‘Corrosion,’ making any attempt at mental probing utterly futile.”

The other powerhouses on our side nodded in silent concurrence with his assessment.

In truth, throughout the earlier dialogue with the Seekers, Leo Ray had secretly commanded Gideon Black, Dazhuang, and Crisis—alongside two Wood Fairy elders—to attempt a mental inquiry. He hoped to extract vital secrets directly from the Seekers' consciousness.

The endeavor had failed; the mental structure of those under ‘Corrosion’ was fundamentally alien compared to the Ten Thousand Clans. It felt like an impenetrable mountain of stone, impossible to peer into even slightly.

To be more precise, they couldn't even lock onto them to initiate the spells. The Seekers likely didn't even notice the attempt, or perhaps they simply viewed it with indifference.

Immediately following the White Knight’s exit, Gideon Black, Dazhuang, and the others had already delivered their reports.

“The Old Council Leader raises a valid point, yet we must remember that a large portion of that information was already suspected by us. Their words primarily served as a confirmation of our theories.”

Leo Ray offered the Grey Elder a reassuring smile, adding, “Furthermore, the Seekers have no logical motivation to deceive us.”

Upon hearing Leo Ray’s logic, the assembly pondered his words and nodded.

The Lord’s reasoning was sound; there was no incentive for the opposition to play such games. Under the shadow of the current threat, if ‘Corrosion’ were to consume all life, we would be left with nothing but total annihilation.

As this realization dawned on the room, the tension in the hall spiked. Several individuals looked visibly shaken, appearing lost in the face of such a grim reality.

“Does everyone recall the monumental objective the Hero King entrusted to the Mercenary Guild in the past?”

Sensing the suffocating atmosphere, Leo Ray shifted the direction of the conversation.

“The mission was to locate the cataclysm rift—a task that led the Old Council and its members to scour nearly every corner of the Human Domain.”

“Your Majesty, that is the exact subject I intended to bring up next.”

The Grey Elder stroked his long white beard thoughtfully. “Given our current intelligence, is it possible that this cataclysm rift is actually the breach in the Magic Barrier?”

“It is the only logical conclusion.”

Leo Ray confirmed the Grey Elder’s suspicion, expanding further. “The Seekers suggested the Magic Barrier might fail at any moment. However, I suspect that even if it breaks, it won't vanish entirely. It will likely function like a breach in a City Wall, because the Magic Barrier is a divine work—a creation of the Deity.”

“A creation of the Deity?! Lord, how did you come by such knowledge?”

Shock washed over Shirley’s pale face as the question escaped her lips.

“The truth is actually quite straightforward.”

Leo Ray nodded before recounting his recent deductions regarding the “Prompting Voice.”

Since Leo Ray had previously shared the details of the Divine Revelation he received and the three inquiries he made to the “Prompting Voice,” the group quickly grasped the weight of his words.

“So that is the situation… Was the ‘Prompting Voice’ actually the one behind the Great Catastrophe? But what motive could a Deity have for such actions?”

Shirley’s astonishment only deepened as Leo Ray finished his explanation, a sentiment mirrored by everyone else present.

“That is a mystery I am desperate to solve as well, as it is undoubtedly tied to the secrets of the Era of Blankness. Unfortunately, we lack the clues to speculate further right now.”

Leo Ray’s expression turned solemn. “However, knowing that the breach in the Magic Barrier—forged by the ‘Prompting Voice’—will manifest as specific gaps rather than a total collapse gives us a fighting chance against ‘Corrosion.’”

“This old servant finally perceives Your Majesty’s vision!”

The Grey Elder nodded in agreement. “This aligns with Your Majesty’s previous directives. If we identify the potential sites where the Magic Barrier might crack—the very cataclysm rifts the Hero King sought—we can fortify those locations. By sealing the rifts or concentrating our defenses, we can effectively block the ‘Corrosion’ before it floods the world!”

Following the Grey Elder’s clarification, the powerhouses who had been struggling to follow the plan suddenly saw the light.

Initially, the prospect of fighting an unstoppable ‘Corrosion’ coming from all sides had left them feeling powerless.

But if they could execute the strategy proposed by Leo Ray and the Grey Elder—focusing their elite forces at specific defensive points—there was indeed a glimmer of hope, however slim it might be!

“So this was the true purpose behind the Ancestral Hero King’s final task.”

Ariel Watson spoke with a mix of excitement and contemplation. “But Lord, the Magic Barrier is a divine restriction placed by a Deity; its nature is beyond our mortal understanding. Even though it surrounds the world, we cannot feel it. How are we supposed to find cracks that haven't even formed yet?”

“The Human Domain is massive, and a blind search would indeed be like hunting for a needle in a haystack. Fortunately, there are clues we can follow.”

Leo Ray offered a mysterious smile and began his explanation. “Think back—how exactly did the Seekers reach the surface?”
