Determined to repay her debt, Qunnie Young steps forward to protect Leo Ray from a relentless onslaught of magical giant wolves. Using her thunder attribute spells, she struggles against the creatures while Leo Ray observes her combat tactics and the limitations of her worn-out magic wand. The battle takes a dangerous turn when a second wolf launches a stealthy sneak attack from the shadows, leaving Qunnie defenseless. To her utter shock, Leo Ray intervenes with a display of overwhelming magical power, effortlessly obliterating both threats with superior thunder magic. This revelation shatters Qunnie’s perception of his strength, as she realizes he is not just a swordsman but a master mage far more capable than herself. As more enemies form in the darkness, the pair remains unaware that sinister eyes are watching their every move from the periphery of the battlefield.

Hidden within the impenetrable shadows stood four Lords with grim countenances, their piercing gazes fixed intently on the unfolding conflict.

A gruesome sight lay behind them—dozens of mutilated corpses scattered in a haphazard pile. These were clearly other Lords who had been slaughtered by the group not long ago, a realization that would cause anyone's blood to run cold.

One of the four Lords was particularly striking; he wore a blue robe and a black top hat that contrasted with his hideous facial features. Like a malevolent puppeteer, his fingers danced frantically in the empty air.

His role was obvious: he was the secret controller of the Water Element Demon Puppets.

The leader of the group, dressed in an elegant blue noble’s outfit, looked down toward Leo Ray’s back with an expression of pure arrogance and contempt, failing to see any noteworthy talent in him.

The remaining two Lords—one in a brown magic robe and the other clad in black leather armor—watched with eyes brimming with malice. They shared the same disdainful sneer, viewing Leo Ray and his fighting companions as nothing more than petty insects.

When Leo Ray swiftly executed two Magic Giant Wolves, the Lord in the noble attire narrowed his gray eyes with murderous intent and gave a subtle nod to the brown-robed Lord.

Understanding the signal immediately, the brown-robed Lord let a distorted grin touch his lips as his magic robe began to flutter despite the lack of wind.

Even though the ship’s cabin was in a state of chaos, the four of them remained entirely silent, having utilized sophisticated Concealing Techniques to slip into the very cracks of space.

In a flash, the brown-robed Lord finished his preparations, poised to strike.

The blue-robed Lord traded a look with his brown-robed comrade; seeing the same chilling cruelty reflected back, they both broke into a silent, wicked smile.

"They are starting to falter!"

At the rear of the formation, Ethan Young’s spear moved like a violent tempest, forcing the Tier 6 Dragon Golem to give ground with every strike.

Emboldened by Ethan Young’s display of power, his followers felt their spirits soar and began to press the attack behind him.

Just as expected, under the fierce assault of Ethan Young and the other experts, the Water Element Demon Puppets crumbled like a falling mountain, exposing their massive vulnerabilities and falling into a hopeless position.

"Chen, it looks like the scales of victory have tipped entirely in our favor!"

Qunnie Young noted with excitement flushing her pale face, her magic wand swinging to clear away the stray Demon Puppets in the vicinity.

Leo Ray heard her, yet his brow remained furrowed in concentration, refusing to let down his guard.

Surveying the battlefield, he saw that it wasn't just Ethan Young making progress at the rear; the front lines held by Broy, Shuert, and Yonir were seeing the same success.

While the enemy was indeed retreating, the shift felt far too abrupt, smelling strongly of a calculated trap.

As the experts collectively surged forward in pursuit, the once-compact formation at both ends began to stretch thin without anyone realizing it.

"This is definitely an ambush; there must be multiple Lords lurking in the shadows."

With this thought, Leo Ray immediately summoned a Dragon-Slaying Lightning Tower toward the front line to provide automatic fire against the enemy Demon Puppets.

This served as Leo Ray’s signal to regroup. It was a silent command for the experts not to break rank—a tactic they had already mastered through their many battles together.

The appearance of the lightning-shrouded Magic Tower at the vanguard told the experts everything they needed to know. They ceased their pursuit and began a disciplined withdrawal.

Simultaneously, Leo Ray looked at Qunnie Young and warned, "Tell your brother to tighten the formation. Do not pursue them blindly!"

"Chen, do you mean the enemy is faking a retreat to tear our lines apart?"

Qunnie Young understood instantly and used her magic communication to alert Ethan Young.

Ethan Young, caught up in the heat of the fray, snapped back to his senses and scanned his surroundings.

Without noticing, his tight-knit group had become scattered, and the gap between him and Leo Ray’s main force had widened significantly.

Though they hadn't drifted too far yet, Ethan Young knew that on a battlefield where life and death were decided in seconds, a single opening could lead to total annihilation.

"Consolidate the formation! Fall back to our previous marks!"

Ethan Young barked the command without a second's delay.

But before his words could even echo, countless shriveled vines erupted from the mundane Magic Mosses nearby with a sharp "swoosh."

In the blink of an eye, these withered vines blanketed the sky, lashing out directly toward Leo Ray!

"So, I'm the primary target?"

Leo Ray reacted with incredible speed to the looming danger, grabbing Qunnie Young and triggering a short-range Teleportation Scroll.

A moment later, the vines slammed down with a thunderous crash, carrying the force of a Magic Cannon and causing the entire ship cabin to tremble violently.

Judging by the massive surge of energy, that strike would have easily crippled or killed a Tier 6 Expert caught off-balance!

Seeing this sudden eruption, Ethan Young and the other experts grew frantic, searching desperately for any sign of Leo Ray and Qunnie Young.

Only when the two reappeared a short distance away did the heavy tension in everyone's chests finally ease.

"Do not even dream of touching His Majesty!"

Yonir, Broy, Shuert, Jess, and the others began to pull back, rapidly closing the distance to Leo Ray's side.

Even though Leo Ray had initially told the powerhouses not to worry about his safety and to focus on the fight, he had become the heart and soul of the group. How could they not be consumed by worry?

Furthermore, Ethan Young, terrified for his sister's life, followed suit and led his group back toward Leo Ray.

"Idiots. You should be worried about your own lives instead of others."

As the experts from both sides rushed toward Leo Ray, a sharp, mocking voice rang out. The retreating Water Element Demon Puppets suddenly developed blood-red eyes. Their auras exploded with power as they let out feral roars and launched a counterattack, clearly having entered a state of frenzy.

The blue-robed Lord stepped out from where the voice originated, standing tall before the group.

Confronted by these suddenly empowered foes, Ethan Young and the others were forced to fight a defensive retreat, instantly losing their advantage against the now much stronger berserk puppets.

The ambush didn't stop there. In the midst of the turmoil, the brown-robed Lord and the black-armored Lord materialized, appearing just a short distance from Leo Ray and Qunnie Young.

"It's time for you to die, you flashy brat."
