Everyone Is A Lord: My Talent Is A Little Too Strong Chapter 2536 1399: Defeat and Advance (Part 2)

Previously on Everyone Is A Lord: My Talent Is A Little Too Strong...
In a damp, malevolent cabin, a Tier 6 assassin successfully ambushed Leo Ray, only to discover the target was an Illusive Thunder Clone. The Hooded Lord’s triumph turned to dread as the rest of the bound captives dissipated into energy, revealing that Leo Ray’s entire squad were doppelgängers used as bait. Now surrounded by the true elite forces, the Hooded Lord attempted to negotiate before ordering his hidden giant spiders to ensnare the real powerhouses. As the enemy maneuvers for a final desperate slaughter, Leo Ray and his subordinates prepare to face the oncoming swarm of webs.

To his astonishment, however, the beasts did not obey his commands, remaining paralyzed upon the ceiling.

The Hooded Lord looked up in a panic, only to realize that every giant spider demon beast was being held against the rafters by an unseen pressure, rendering them completely immobile.

"Little Jie, your confinement barrier is well executed."

Leo Ray’s brows rose slightly as our powerful combatants charged forward. A terrifying aura surged through the area, and in a mere heartbeat, the giant spider demon beasts were reduced to nothing but drifting dust.

"Get rid of that bastard for me!"

With the atmosphere shifting from dead silence to chaotic violence, the Hooded Lord clearly opted for a desperate final stand. He joined the scrawny expert in a savage lunge toward Leo Ray.

In a flash, the pair’s eyes turned crimson with a lethal bloodlust, appearing ready to fight until their last breaths.

Yet, before they could even finish their first strides, countless emerald magic vines erupted from every corner, instantly wrapping around them in a tight embrace.

At the origin of these numerous green tendrils stood a withered magician holding a staff, his silver hair fluttering wildly. This was Yonir, the venerable president of the Alchemist Guild.

Even while bound securely, the Hooded Lord remained defiant, his face twisted with murderous intent as he spat out curses.

Beside him, the scrawny expert possessed superior prowess. Utilizing the thick energy barriers nearby as leverage, he slipped through the restraints like a greasy eel. He renewed his explosive dash at Leo Ray, his Tier 6 three-star Cultivation making it difficult for the Tier 6 one-star Yonir to keep him pinned.

However, an even swifter, more muscular figure intervened—the ancient dark general, Jess.

A fierce clash broke out immediately, but before the scrawny expert could strike, a slender blade punched through his back and his energy barrier alike, leaving a massive cavity in his chest.

With a mask of shock and bewilderment frozen on his face, the scrawny expert finally collapsed with a heavy thud, revealing the graceful silhouette of Xiao Jing behind him.

"Don't think you're the only one who can stab from the back. You dared to turn your blade against the Lord, utterly disgraceful!"

Xiao Jing gave a cold snort as she looked at the thin corpse, expertly flicking the gore from her steel.

Only the Hooded Lord remained now. Gone was his previous arrogance and lack of shame; his trousers were now drenched and a sharp stench filled the air while his lips shook uncontrollably.

Suddenly, his pale, bloodshot eyes bulged as his pupils dilated rapidly, and he fell silent forever.

"Your Majesty of the Humans, he is dead."

Jess knelt to inspect the body briefly before giving Leo Ray a stoic nod.

"Such an insignificant existence dared to attempt to shake the Lord of the Summer Realm, utterly laughable."

Leo Ray spared a glance at the body on the floor before signaling the others to finish clearing the area.

As they worked, Leo Ray checked the other fallen enemies. It appeared they were subordinates of the scrawny expert who had been lying in wait, only to be neutralized by his warriors during the initial skirmish.

"Lord, every web left by those giant spider demon beasts has evaporated completely, leaving no trace behind," Xiao Jing remarked, approaching Leo Ray with a look of wonder. "It is no marvel that we sensed nothing before."

"Indeed, those monsters were certainly the ones responsible for the disappearances in this sector."

Leo Ray nodded in thought. "As for the vanishing webs, they likely function like magic constructs—existing only as long as those spider demon beasts provide a collective source of power."

"Your Majesty is correct. These are not typical beast webs but a unique form of magic web that requires a constant flow of energy from those rare spider demon beasts. Once the supply is cut, they revert into simple energy particles," Shuert agreed.

A shadow of confusion crossed the old man's face. "However, those spider demon beasts were merely at the Tier 5 level. While their carapaces are sturdy, they shouldn't trouble a Tier 6 expert. Why would webs produced by them be capable of binding Tier 6 masters?"

Following Shuert’s observation, the other powerful warriors nearby also looked perplexed.

"The explanation is straightforward; this was undoubtedly the handiwork of that treacherous mastermind."

Leo Ray rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "To start, he must possess a beast-taming talent to command those creatures. Furthermore, he must have a way to amplify their natural traits, allowing Tier 5 spider demon beasts to become a fatal threat to those at Tier 6."

Upon hearing Leo Ray’s deduction, a sense of gravity and shock washed over the group.

It was true—those spider demon beasts had been nearly invisible against the ceiling. Had the Majesty of the Humans not prepared a counter-ambush, this victory might have been far more costly.

Observing the grim looks on his followers' faces, Leo Ray’s expression also grew stern.

That individual’s talent was indeed formidable. Fortunately, it seemed limited to taming and buffing Tier 5 beasts for now; otherwise, they might have faced something far more dangerous.

Should they meet such an enemy again with higher-tier beasts, it would be a grueling battle, perhaps even an impossible one to win.

"It seems every lord here has significant talents, likely acting as the pillars of their own lands."

While Leo Ray contemplated this, his subordinates finished tidying the battlefield and gathered around him once more.

"Very well, let us proceed."

At Leo Ray’s order, the group sharpened their focus and continued their journey into the bowels of the vessel.

Their progress was steady this time. They moved through more than ten cabin sections without encountering any further traps.

As they moved, the number of branching paths increased. Some zones branched out in every direction, turning the city of the myriad ships into a confusing, massive labyrinth.

Nevertheless, Leo Ray and his team stuck to a singular strategy: they pushed deeper into the hull, ignoring any paths that led toward the outer edges of the ships. The greatest spoils were almost certainly hidden in the deepest reaches.

Whether this was the right choice was anyone's guess, but in this race against the clock, they had no choice but to press on.

As they delved further, the scale of the cabins grew. They moved from areas made of a dozen joined ships to massive zones comprised of a hundred or more enormous hulls, a sight that was truly breathtaking.

Meanwhile, the muffled booms of magic cannons from outside grew sparse. It suggested that the battles were reaching their conclusions, a fact supported by the scouting reports from the likes of Grey Elder.

Grey Elder reported sighting five distinct fleets of varying sizes. Three had already been decimated by magic cannon fire and sent to the ocean floor, yet this was still only a fraction of the city of myriad ships.

The total number of rivals hidden in other sectors remained a mystery, but it was clear that many lords were participating in this struggle.

As Leo Ray continued his descent into the hull, gathering data on the surrounding regions, another powerful group was also making rapid headway from a different side of the city of the myriad ships.
