Da Xuan Martial Saint Chapter 1485 - 713: Mastering Creation (2)
Previously on Da Xuan Martial Saint...
Chen Mu shifted his gaze toward Chen Yao, noticing she was still lost in deep meditation. After a moment passed, she finally regained her senses, her eyes twinkling with a faint luster. She spoke softly: "I haven't quite grasped every detail, but the insights I've gained are immense. I can feel the Eighth Layer Heaven Peak within my reach; it won't be long before I take that next step."
A look of relief crossed Chen Mu's face as he watched her, and he gave a slight, smiling nod of approval.
Just as he prepared to speak.
Suddenly,
His entire physical form stiffened momentarily as a ripple of mysterious, ethereal energy began to emanate from his body.
This faint, enigmatic ripple drifted outward, instantly enveloping Chen Yue and Chen Yao in an aura so grand and magnificent that it felt supremely majestic. Both women found themselves trembling uncontrollably, unable to meet Chen Mu's gaze for even a second.
"What is this..."
Stunned and overwhelmed, Chen Yue and Chen Yao were gripped by an instinctive urge to submit under the crushing pressure, forcing them to bow their heads low.
While they had no qualms about kneeling before Chen Mu, the suddenness of the aura he projected filled them with shock. Chen Mu would never intentionally exert such overwhelming pressure to force their submission without a clear purpose.
From what they could sense, it appeared as though Chen Mu was leaking this aura involuntarily and passively.
What could have occurred?
A sense of unease and anxiety began to brew within the hearts of both women.
However, the supreme and majestic aura vanished as quickly as it had arrived, fading away in a heartbeat.
...
At that same moment,
Deep within the Origin River.
Inside the star formed by Chen Mu’s will, his cross-legged figure suddenly jerked violently. A massive, surging tide of Origin power began to rush toward him with wild intensity.
Chen Mu’s eyes snapped open, his pupils shimmering with the brilliant light of Creation. He scanned his surroundings and with a casual flick of his sleeve, the turbulent waters of the Origin River were instantly forced back into a state of calm.
This minor disturbance failed to catch the attention of the other Dao Venerables residing along the Origin River.
Such ripples were frequent occurrences; it was hardly surprising when a Dao Venerable utilized their strength or mobilized the power of an Origin Dao, causing the river to stir.
However,
This particular upheaval in the Origin River wasn't triggered by Chen Mu engaging a foe or flaunting his might. Instead, it was because his Creation Dao, bolstered by the system panel’s cultivation assistance, had finally reached the stage of total comprehension!
Fully mastering the Creation Dao signified that his Creation Lineage had also ascended to the rank of Dao Venerable!
Because he was already recognized as a Dao Venerable by the Origin Dao, the commotion caused by mastering a second Origin Dao was relatively contained. There was only a brief surge of Creation power, which he swiftly stifled using his Void Dao authority, leaving only a small ripple on the surface of the Origin River.
Whether large or small, the ripple drew the fleeting attention of a few nearby Dao Venerables. They glanced toward Chen Mu’s location but soon looked away; such disturbances were commonplace as the Universe neared its end.
"Creation..."
Naturally, some Venerables noticed that the ripple contained not just Void Force, but was laced with the power of Creation. They didn't dwell on it, however, merely whispering the word to themselves.
Chen Mu was already a Dao Venerable. Even if his primary path was the Void Lineage, it was within his rights to forcibly manipulate the power of Creation.
Just as Venerables of the Creation Lineage often meddled with the Void Dao to uncover its secrets, this was seen as nothing more than a standard part of a Dao Venerable's cultivation process.
As for the possibility,
The idea that Chen Mu might have already fully mastered the Creation Dao only crossed the minds of a few as a passing thought.
While possible, it seemed highly improbable. Chen Mu had only been a Dao Venerable for a little over ten epochs. Even if the End of the Universe made the Creation Dao easier to grasp, mastering it so rapidly was unheard of.
"So this is the Creation Dao..."
Chen Mu himself felt no desire to flaunt his achievement. Despite mastering the Creation Dao, he wasn't about to parade through the Origin River to announce his breakthrough. Currently, he was simply lost in the infinite wonders of the Creation Dao, letting out a soft sigh of awe.
To bring something from nothing, to return something to nothing, and to exhaust every possible transformation—that was the essence of Creation.
By attaining mastery over the Creation Dao, he now held supreme and magnificent powers. For instance, he could now resurrect the dead by following the threads of causality. By tracing these links, he could reconstruct the soul and life force, forcibly manifesting fallen beings from the past into the present.
This wasn't simply pulling a deceased person out of the River of Time; it was the reconstruction of an entity identical to the original in body, soul, and every causal connection.
But,
If done this way, could the resurrected truly be considered the same individuals from the past?
"It is actually possible to fish them out from the past; the problem is that beings from the past cannot survive the current flow of time..."
Chen Mu whispered to himself.
There were indeed a few souls he wished to bring back, such as Yu Jiujiang, who had been a vital guide during his rise. Yet, a re-manifested Yu Jiujiang might not truly be the same man he once knew.
If he used the Time Lineage to extract a fragment of Yu Jiujiang’s past spirituality and used that as a seed to rebuild his body and soul, it might succeed. However, Yu Jiujiang had never reached the God Realm. To pull him from the distant past would require him to withstand the immense pressure of the Time Dao.
The laws of the Time Dao were an absolute restriction.
Unless he could also achieve total comprehension of the Time Dao and become a Time Venerable, he wouldn't be able to truly manipulate time, bridge the past and future, or reverse causality.
There were others as well, like the father of Xu Hongyu. Although Xu Hongyu was now an immortal of the God Realm staying by his side, Chen Mu knew she still carried hidden grief and regrets.
"Regrettably, I am still unable to trace the causality of the past back to the present day."
Chen Mu sighed, shaking his head slightly.
He had his own family from the past whom he longed to see. Yet, even as a Dao Venerable of the Creation Lineage standing at the peak of causality, he couldn't trace the threads back to the most ancient era, specifically the moment he arrived in this world. At that specific point, Chen Mu encountered a barrier he could not cross.
He now understood the source of that resistance: it was the system panel!
The system panel was a Supreme Treasure that nothing could disturb unless one was a Supreme Being. Until he could truly transcend this universe and reach the other shore, his past would likely remain out of reach. Even with the Time Dao, he would probably only be able to trace back to the moment of his arrival.
"No matter."
"The vast years have slipped away like sand; there is no need for haste."
Chen Mu quickly pushed these thoughts aside.
Dao Venerables were supreme, yet they weren't all-powerful. Having risen from nothing and survived countless trials to reach this realm, his mental state was far beyond that of his former mortal self.
"Next, I must begin the comprehension of the final path—the Time Dao."
Chen Mu slowly closed his eyes once more.
...
Meanwhile,
Back in the Da Xuan World.
After the brief period of suffocating pressure, Chen Yue and Chen Yao finally felt the weight lift as Chen Mu’s majesty vanished. They looked up and saw a strange, mysterious light flickering within his eyes.
"Yue’er, Yao’er."
Chen Mu addressed them calmly: "At your current stage, all you lack is time and accumulation. Compared to the ancient Divine Monarchs, your ascent has been very rapid... Before the Universe falls into silence and all things fade away, I will take you out one last time to expand your horizons."
Both Chen Yue and Chen Yao were stunned by his words, their faces quickly lighting up with joy.
They both deeply missed the days when Chen Mu would accompany them on their travels. Ever since he had ascended to the God Realm and become a Divine Monarch, he had stopped wandering the Mortal Dust with them.
Hearing his words now, it was clear that he didn't intend to take them back to the mortal world, but out into the vast Universe facing its End of Tribulation. This was a journey they had both secretly longed for with all their hearts.
