Da Xuan Martial Saint Chapter 1484 - 713: Mastering Creation
Previously on Da Xuan Martial Saint...
The Da Xuan World.
Heavenly Realm, Central Court Peak.
Hovering in the air, Chen Yue and Chen Yao sat cross-legged. Standing before them was Chen Mu, clad in a simple robe. With a casual wave of his hand, a brilliant radiance of multicolored light spilled from his palm.
"The Creator, the essence of all things, is rooted in creation. Transformation represents the shifting of all existence. Life, spirits, and every form of causality—the creation of all things—are interconnected and mutually dependent, together forming a unified whole."
Chen Mu was currently imparting the Daoist Charm of the Creation Dao to both Chen Yue and Chen Yao.
Utilizing the system panel, he was in the midst of comprehending the entirety of the Creation Dao and was nearing its completion. He stood just a single step away from total mastery. Yet, even if he were to fully master the Creation Dao, he remained unable to present its fundamental mysteries from their very roots to Chen Yue and Chen Yao in the same way the system panel could for him.
This mirrored his experience with the Void Dao. Despite already being a Void Venerable, he could not perfectly manifest the entire essence of the Void Dao like the system panel did. It was not necessarily a lack of ability on his part, but rather that Chen Yue and Chen Yao lacked the capacity to comprehend it.
To put it more simply, the complete Daoist mysteries revealed by the system panel do more than just show the Dao; they forcibly elevate Chen Mu’s perspective!
Directly perceiving a complete Dao is an impossible feat for anyone who is not a Dao Venerable.
It is comparable to beings trapped within a painting; lacking the concept of depth, they cannot grasp the form of creatures living outside the canvas. Even if they managed a glimpse, they would only see a mere projection of that external being upon the painting. It would be like a blind man touching an elephant—able to observe only a tiny fragment, nothing more than the tip of the iceberg.
Only by ascending to the rank of Dao Venerable, with half of one's being stepping beyond the painting's edge, can the true essence of the Dao be understood.
As a Dao Venerable of the Void Lineage, any attempt by Chen Mu to present the full Void Dao to Chen Yue and the others would result in them seeing only a partial view, leaving them unable to grasp the whole.
The system panel, however, wields a power that transcends the Dao itself. It can forcibly pull a living being’s perspective upward, allowing it to present the complete Creation Dao to Chen Mu even before his advancement to Venerable. In effect, it permitted him to experience the realm of a Void Venerable ahead of time.
Such an achievement is beyond the reach of any Venerable.
Chen Mu was no exception.
Consequently, the version of the Creation Dao he displayed to Chen Yue and Chen Yao was limited to the scope of the Nine Layer Heavens.
Currently, both Chen Yue and Chen Yao had attained the Eighth Layer Heaven. Chen Yao was specifically closing in on the peak of the Eighth Layer Heaven. Both were now focusing their Cultivation primarily on the Creation Lineage. Even though Chen Mu had not yet reached the status of Creation Venerable, his Realm within that lineage was sufficiently high to direct their progress.
It was precisely because of Chen Mu’s constant guidance that Chen Yue, Chen Yao, and the others had made such swift strides. After all, receiving personal instruction from a Dao Venerable like Chen Mu was a dream that countless Divine Monarchs of the Ninth Layer Heaven could only hope for. Yet, Chen Yue and the others could seek his counsel at any moment. In the entire world, very few possessed such a grand privilege.
As the universe nears the End of the Tribulation, the Dao becomes easier to perceive. Combined with an endless supply of resources and Chen Mu’s direct tutelage, rapid progress toward becoming a Divine Monarch is possible regardless of one's initial talent. This was especially true for Chen Yue, whose innate talent was significant, and Chen Yao, who stood out as a genius in the Da Xuan world, second only to Chen Mu during that era.
Chen Mu hoped that both of them could ascend to the Nine Layer Heavens before the final end arrived, allowing them to witness a full cycle of the universe’s Silent Annihilation and Creation. By doing so, they would have the chance to prove their Dao Venerable status after the next Universe Creation.
However,
The Nine Layer Heavens is truly a realm of extraordinary difficulty.
Despite his personal care, the unlimited resources, and the favorable conditions of the End of Tribulation, Chen Yue and Chen Yao still could not easily bridge the gap to the Nine Layer Heavens; they required more time.
For them, a span of ten epochs—neither particularly long nor short—presented a challenge for finishing the Eighth Layer Heaven and breaking through to the Ninth. Under normal circumstances, it would be considered a mark of extreme talent and a blistering Cultivation pace for an Eighth Layer Heavenly Divine Monarch to reach the Ninth within dozens of tribulations.
"The Creator neither increases nor decreases, is neither born nor destroyed."
"In the pursuit of worldly learning, one gains daily; in the pursuit of the Dao, one loses daily. One must decrease and decrease further until reaching the state of non-action."
While manifesting the Creation Power and the Realm of the Nine Layer Heavens, Chen Mu continued to share his insights with Chen Yue and Chen Yao.
Floating in the void, the two listened to Chen Mu’s explanation of the Dao’s resonance. Their expressions shifted from deep thought to confusion, and occasionally to sudden enlightenment.
After an indeterminate amount of time, Chen Mu ended his lecture and questioned them:
"How do you feel?"
"I have gained some insights, but I still find much of it obscure and hard to grasp."
Chen Yue spoke her mind honestly, reflecting as she answered. While Chen Mu’s teachings had provided significant clarity regarding Creation, the high-level Daoist Charm he discussed contained facets that remained difficult to fully process.
"Move forward steadily and build your foundation, for that is the heart of seeking the Dao. Even if you do not fully grasp the mystical Dao I describe, simply listening and committing it to memory serves as part of your accumulation. Once that accumulation is deep enough, there will come a moment of great breakthrough; do not feel pressured to understand everything instantly."
Upon hearing Chen Yue’s response, Chen Mu gave a slight nod of approval.
