Apocalypse Gachapon Chapter 1911: Unsealing Mountain King Crown
Previously on Apocalypse Gachapon...
The stench of blood hung thicker in the air than ever before.
Maybe it stemmed from the exceptional power these fallen foes once wielded.
Enormous mountain summits kept getting smashed by the attackers from below, yet those tumbling masses of rock were ripping the assailants to shreds in return.
No one could argue against the formidable fighting prowess of those below. Seasoned and mighty fighters among them shattered chunks off a peak with a single technique or carved deep pits into the stone without much effort.
Still, nobody managed to demolish a whole summit edge in one strike.
Moreover, as these colossal peaks toppled or slammed down, even the toughest veterans couldn't endure the impact, much less the raw beginners.
What in the world was going on?!
Amid their fury and disbelief, the combatants in the assault kept pondering this riddle. How could such a devastating technique emerge? From their perspective, wielding that level of destructive might was reserved for the elite inner circles of their own factions.
Actually, even those elites might not pull it off. The issue wasn't their power or rank falling short; rather, this bizarre power clearly demanded some special conduit.
Be it gear or some extraordinarily mighty entity.
Shadows of mountains surged wildly through the throng, and the stone behemoth ape mirrored that chaos. It offered no protection at all. Strikes hitting its frame—whether aimed at the neck, chest, or skull—failed to deliver a killing blow.
Myriad assaults battered its form, merely splintering bits of the stone that formed it into scattered debris. A few tried targeting its limbs or sections to slow the beast's advance, but its sheer size and unyielding toughness made that futile. Accomplishing such a feat would demand minutes of relentless pounding, even if the ape held perfectly still—which it didn't. Each swing of its arm or stomp of its foot spelled doom for beginners. Veterans fared little better, unable to survive a pair of successive hits.
Remember, alongside the stone ape and those scores of summits, another colossal figure loomed... Ye Zhongming's hazy dark silhouette.
This entity acted like yet another rampaging ape. Its blows and stomps brimmed with devastating force, and that earlier thunderous bellow had sparked countless indirect fatalities!
In truth, White Robe and his allies had anticipated Ye Zhongming's technique would prove highly effective, even serving as a strong deterrent. They had witnessed or learned of it previously.
By their calculations, once the Cloud Peak King unleashed it, he would likely eliminate around ten veterans along with a bunch of novices. That outcome would surely ease the strain immensely. And thanks to the cooldown elixir, he could repeat the cycle to take out another ten or so.
Winning outright might remain out of reach, but it would sharply boost their odds of holding out until the novice arena's close. To them, that equaled triumph!
Yet the unfolding chaos far surpassed what White Robe and the rest had foreseen. They, meant to spearhead the defense, now merely backed up the effort. The true powerhouses were the ape, the shadowy titan, and the swarm of peaks!
What's more, they were starting to dominate.
A portion of the initial aggressors had begun pulling back. They had no choice; realizing events had spiraled beyond control ignited their desperate will to survive.
Anyone witnessing this would feel stunned, but the deepest impact struck the Star-Eye Clan members without question.
Aboard the Star-Eye Clan's vessel orbiting high above the novice world, the command area had fallen into total quiet. Only then did the nearby comm device erupt in a frenzy of alerts. Innumerable factions clamored to link up and converse, snapping everyone from their daze.
They never imagined their clan could one day draw the galaxy's undivided attention.
Heavy pants came first, followed by unrestrained bursts of elation and shouts.
Victory's light shone before them—a brilliant one at that!
"Answer or not?"
A red-faced individual queried Aslan about the incoming hails from other groups. His keen gaze even caught signals from ships of several top-tier clans, those ranking among the universe's mightiest overall.
"No!"
Aslan replied with iron resolve. Noting the confusion around her, she grinned and added, "If we pick up now, can we reveal what they're dying to hear? No. And even if we knew, why share it? No. So what's the use in responding?"
"But won't that rile folks up?" One voice lingered on old cautious habits.
"Rile them?" Aslan gestured to the gore-splattered display on the screen, her stance unyielding. "Hasn't this already done that? Novice arena clashes stay unpursued by the code; that's the law. But deep down, we know it's a guideline for the big leagues. When did lesser groups like ours ever get true deference? Sure, in typical novice fights, we seldom slay their fighters. But if we did, wouldn't they strike back? They'd just keep it less overt!"
The group sobered at her words, recognizing the hard truth she spoke.
Though cosmic societies had forged countless protocols under the Slave Race's shadow to cling to existence, the core truth endured: the strongest arm called the shots.
"Once we've clinched the win, then we'll field these calls. At that point, we'll have far more to share." Aslan folded her arms, eyeing the carnage on the monitor, her mind echoing the universal wonder.
How on earth had this Ye Zhongming conjured such marvels!
Ye Zhongming had advanced. More precisely, he had activated the subsequent phase of the Mountain King Crown.
Before, the Mountain King Crown offered him a few skills: Shortening Distance, Feedback Force, and Mountain Shadow Press. This round, after taking the Sky Step serum from He, he opted to evolve the Mountain King Crown. In doing so, the Cloud Peak King unlocked two fresh powers: the rock ape now rampaging and the cascade of peaks.
Mountain Becomes Ape: Transforms a summit into a stone ape of awesome battle might. Its overall potency ties to the summoner's invested energy and the peak's scale as the base.
Command of the Mountains: Calls forth the crests of multiple mountains, reshaping them into a mobile barrage to hammer enemies.
The Ocean King Crown and Mountain King Crown ranked as lord-tier gear, the pinnacle of artifacts. Their powers were inherently overwhelming. True, Ye Zhongming's personal might remained modest for now, limiting them against the cosmos's elite threats. But against these beings capped at two thousand furelai in energy, they excelled beyond measure.
By the time the foes shattered the Command of the Mountains and Mountain Becomes Ape effects, while also outlasting Ye Zhongming's shift, their once-dominant force lay in ruins. Barely forty veterans survived, alongside just over a hundred novices!
In essence, from Ye Zhongming's initial activation to the fade of these abilities, more than five hundred invaders had perished!
