Apocalypse Gachapon Chapter 1906: Sky Step

Previously on Apocalypse Gachapon...
Surrounded by hundreds of mature warriors and a thousand novices from cosmic races, Ye Zhongming and his outnumbered allies—eleven mature fighters and just nine capable novices—braced for the final assault on the small hill, with only ninety minutes left until the Novice battlefield's end. White Robe, sharing the burden of defense, handed Ye Zhongming a rare stamina-restoring pill to enable twice using his powerful improved Double Poison Shadow transformation, despite the immense personal risk. Yisewei then provided a priceless Cooldown Elimination Liquid for his Earth Spirit ability, strengthening their slim hope against the encroaching horde.

"You guys sure have high expectations of me." Ye Zhongming chuckled while shaking his head.

Both White Robe and Yisewei handed over valuable items to Ye Zhongming, clearly pinning their hopes on him. The explosive battle strength shown by the Cloud Peak King convinced them that, in that moment, he stood as the strongest warrior among the group.

Without a doubt, he shared the same view.

"Does it feel like you're owing a favor?"

She flashed an elegant smile that carried no icy detachment to push others away. One had to admit that the females of the Changxu Water Race truly served as top-tier beauties across the cosmos.

This very trait planted the roots of concern for their species' fate.

When strong, they became alluring sources of conflict; when feeble, they faced heartbreaking ends as stunning victims.

Before Ye Zhongming could respond, she glanced at the agitated beings far off and continued, "Truth is, it's no big deal. Folks see you as the elite fighting force. Should you shine in the fight, our odds of making it out alive improve for all. Sure, it looks like we're just handing you the best gear, but it's really about everyone's safety too. No need to dwell on it."

Ye Zhongming gave a casual shrug. Of course, he grasped what she meant to convey, yet that wasn't why he accepted the gifts so readily.

Strictly speaking, aside from White Robe, the others could simply declare their position and depart from this spot. Take Yisewei, for instance—no one truly desired to cross the Sheke Star. Or consider her; any species would eagerly welcome a gifted individual from the Changxu Water Race, likely granting her a respected role. Helsky, Ji Ruiguang, and the rest followed suit. None were obligated to join this assault on the Star-Eye Clan, especially not Mechanical Genius and Mu Hanyi, who appeared to have hurried over just to meet their doom.

If they managed to pull through this ordeal, Ye Zhongming realized he'd rack up a massive obligation, from White Robe inside the group to every ally beyond it.

"I'll keep that in mind."

The Cloud Peak King kept his words brief, as there was no call for more. Survival would prove everything.

From his storage, he produced a vintage little vial crafted from metal, adorned with intricate designs. Its age was a mystery, but the surface gleamed with polish from years of careful handling. Evidently, this treasure had been cherished for ages.

"Recall how I mentioned those two elders in our clan who once possessed eleven holy sigils?"

Her gaze lingered on the vial, brimming with fond memories and a touch of longing.

Ye Zhongming nodded. In truth, this had somewhat updated his perspective. He struggled to picture anyone surpassing her in talent.

"They crafted an eleven-turn elixir back then—the clan's supreme relic. Even I know little of it, and right now, I'm not worthy to claim it. However, this is a ten-turn elixir they made too. It's the finest thing I own."

Ye Zhongming accepted it. Even sealed inside, the Cloud Peak King sensed the immense power surging within.

It felt more alive than any mere potion.

"What exactly is it?" Ye Zhongming inquired.

"All elixirs from our clan target living organisms." She didn't answer his query straight away, drifting into a memory instead.

"Yet this one stands apart. It demands a living host to consume it, but its influence aims at... a unique entity inside that host."

Ye Zhongming's pulse quickened. A unique entity?

"I haven't attained the expertise or insight of those two elders, so I can't grasp their ideas or techniques. What I do know is that consuming this will boost the rank of that particular entity within the body."

She rose to her feet. Around the hill's slope, foes had started forming ranks, a sure sign the onslaught loomed near.

"I detected this sort of unique entity in you. I'm not certain if I'm correct, or if it'll work... but I truly hope it does."

She pivoted to leave. Jie Su had already outlined positions and duties for the clash ahead. Her place was back at the formation's heart.

"If it proves worthless, try to spit it back out and give it to me."

Those words halted Ye Zhongming in his tracks. Staring at the weathered little vial, an uneasy notion crept into his mind.

Did someone once swallow its contents, deem it pointless, and regurgitate it?

"Hehe, you fell for that." She glanced back at his shocked face and giggled. "It's an elixir. Once down the hatch, how could you possibly spit it up?"

Only then did relief wash over Ye Zhongming.

A unique entity in his body? He wasn't sure about others, but he possessed several: Star Spirit, Earth Spirit, Ocean King Crown, Mountain King Crown—these qualified as such.

This elixir could genuinely benefit him.

"Wait, what's its name?"

Ye Zhongming called out to her as she began to depart.

"Sky Step."

A thunderous boom rang out from the base. After their deliberations, the attackers finally launched their strike against the Light Array. Assailants swarmed from all sides, a thick mass encircling the modest hill.

Across the Novice battlefield, hunters paused their pursuits to edge nearer. They wouldn't join in, but curiosity drove them to witness the result.

Up in the void of space, and even across the far-off seven Survivor Fortresses, eyes fixed on this climactic showdown in the Novice battlefield.

"Head to the rear."

The late-arriving Star-Eye Clan fighter approached with Mu Hanyi. This zone fell under their guard, whereas Jie Su had placed Ye Zhongming at the back, like a roaming operative free to seize openings on his own.

"I'll require a moment." Ye Zhongming wasted no words on courtesy. He popped the 'Sky Step' into his mouth and gulped it down. Instantly, a fiery blaze erupted inside him. He recognized the need for time to process it.

The pair acknowledged with nods before shifting into battle readiness.

The initial surge of Novices, guided by seasoned fighters, had closed in on the array's boundary. The fight was about to erupt.
