Wizard: Starting With the Knights Breathing Method Chapter 2808: 574: Please, Baby, Kill! Another Battle at Level-10!

Previously on Wizard: Starting With the Knights Breathing Method...
As the Nightmare World prepares its invasion of Nora, the Abyss lords decide to step back and let the chaos unfold, hoping to benefit from the multi-front conflict. In the Astral World, the Holy Mother, grieving the loss of the Twin Holy Sons, seeks vengeance against the Snake of the End despite the Heavenly Father’s hesitations. Meanwhile, Levi and the Nightmare Command Center strategize for the defense of their territories, considering the preservation of their subordinates' true forms. The tension reaches a peak as the Holy Mother descends personally to Nora to confront Edmund and demand the surrender of the blasphemer.

Across the Continent.

Within the walls of a particular estate.

The Golden Walker was savoring his tea while enjoying the morning paper when a sudden burst of Holy Light seared his vision. His gaze drifted toward the firmament, and his features slowly slackened into a dazed stupor.

"Ma... Mother."

Boom! A mental explosion of Golden Lightning jolted the Golden Walker back to his senses. He gulped down a large mouthful of tea, circulating his dense Qi to stabilize his wavering mind.

"Travel Star Realm Manual, Article Seven: Never look directly upon a God. Deities of such immense power, like the Holy Mother who wields the divine authority of [Motherhood], must never be viewed with the naked eye. Even her passive, subconscious radiance is enough to momentarily entrance a Ninth-Circle Wizard like myself."

Fortunately, the spiritual force training of wizards grants them significant resilience against such divine influence. Had it been any other Level 9 alien race, their awakening would not have been so certain.

In a different mansion.

The Green Demon, having only recently ascended to Level 9, was caught in a trance, repeatedly crying out "Mom" toward the maternal silhouette atop the Heavenly Steps. He continued until his brother, the Green Ghost, found him and delivered a sharp slap to his face, barking: "Wake up! That isn't our mother!"

Being at the Level 9 Middle Stage, the Green Ghost had managed to snap out of the spell much faster.

At the Nightmare Command Center.

Levi’s gaze remained fixed on the figure, his countenance dark and heavy.

The invisible pressure of that divine power held no sway over him. If he possessed the necessary strength, he would have already unsheathed the Crimson Dragon Slash to run his blade through that woman’s heart.

"Such a show-off!"

Levi grumbled to himself.

As if picking up on Levi’s enmity, the Holy Mother ignored Mr. Emmon’s presence for a moment and shifted her eyes toward Levi.

Levi didn't flinch. He met her stare head-on, his gaze seemingly piercing through her starlight-woven silk robes to see her true form inside and out.

For some reason, the thought of Sauron crossed Levi’s mind. Considering how alluring the Holy Mother was, he wondered if that famous "Tian Boguang" of the Wizard World had ever gotten a taste of her.

The Holy Mother was certainly aware of Levi’s identity.

Following a thorough investigation, she had realized this youth had actually matured right under the nose of the Heavenly Father Church. She frequently regretted not purging him years ago. Now that Levi had reached his full potential, taking action against him had become an incredibly difficult prospect.

Of course, the day’s agenda had nothing to do with Levi.

The Holy Mother offered Mr. Emmon a gentle smile, her voice soft: "Sir, I have come today to offer you a mutually beneficial arrangement."

As she spoke, an ancient longsword materialized in her palm. It emitted a searing heat and a brilliant Divine Light that caused the local space to warp—it was clearly a magnificent artifact.

"This grand prize is the [Burning Sun Ancient Sword]. It was crafted by the Level 10 powerhouse known as the [Sun King] from the Multidimensional Plane in the ancient era. After he committed blasphemy against the True God and incited the Sun God's wrath, he was executed by Edmund with divine power. This weapon sits at the 30th rank of the Pan-Plane Supreme Treasure list. It is a masterpiece of the highest order, and I offer it today as a sign of my genuine sincerity."

The Holy Mother’s words were as soothing as a warm spring wind.

Mr. Emmon didn't even glance at the treasure. Instead, he maintained a similarly polite tone and asked: "Lovely Lady Mei Sha, what is the cost you expect me to pay?"

Mei Sha was the Mother of Earth's true name. Typically, only those of equal standing would dare use it; others were required to use her Divine Name.

The Holy Mother took no offense and simply smiled:

"Sir, you only need to deliver the Snake of the End to me. That creature once devoured billions of living souls and committed unspeakable crimes. It even went so far as to swallow my divine son while he was still in his cradle—an act so vile that the Heavens themselves cannot permit it!"

"You despicable harlot! You act as the villain while playing the victim!"

Suddenly, the Snake of the End appeared behind Mr. Emmon. Its size was greatly diminished as it flicked its tongue, spitting curses.

The atmosphere turned volatile as the enemies faced one another. The Holy Mother’s eyes turned cold as ice as she glared at the Snake of the End, though she kept her composure:

"Your lies are merely meant to deceive. Gods are incapable of falsehood."

One by one, other Legendary Wizards manifested around Mr. Emmon, subtly forming a protective circle around the Snake of the End. Gullwig stood there with a frozen expression, looking ready to strike the old woman down where she stood.

During her time as a mortal, she had suffered under the Church of Earth. Consequently, she felt nothing but loathing for the pair known as the Heavenly Father and the Mother of Earth.

Furthermore, her temperament was as sharp and unyielding as a mountain glacier, a stark contrast to Mr. Emmon’s pleasant and diplomatic nature.

Levi, meanwhile, wasn't paying much attention to the argument. His eyes kept "accidentally" drifting toward the Supreme Treasure in the Holy Mother's hand.

The design and craftsmanship reminded him of a Level 7 Treasure he had seen before—the [Sun King’s Sword], which he had looted from the Arrogance General in the Nightmare World’s Seven Sins City. That blade was currently sitting in the organization's vault.

"To think the Sun King made another supreme treasure... strangely enough, it feels like this item is destined for me. Well, I'll worry about that later."

Levi felt a pang of greed for any treasure he saw, though he knew he wasn't strong enough to take it by force. He was also confident that Mr. Emmon would refuse to hand over the Snake of the End.

First, the Nora Council valued its reputation and would not go back on its word.

Second, the Snake of the End’s unique traits were of vital strategic importance for the coming conflicts between Nora, the demons, and the Nightmare. Even ten supreme treasures wouldn't be a fair trade!

If the snake was utilized correctly, Nora’s losses would be minimized, allowing for a victory with far less chaos and death.

The Snake of the End tried to defend itself further, but Mr. Emmon cut it off. He looked at the Holy Mother with a calm, unwavering expression:

"I must decline. This transaction will not take place."

"And why is that? Is the supreme treasure not to your liking?"

"The treasure is remarkable. However, the Nora Council does not sell out its comrades."

"Comrades? Don't be absurd, Mr. Emmon. Wizards are defined by their greed and self-interest. Besides, those of a different species can never truly be trusted. Do you really view a serpent as your equal? Even if it serves a purpose now, will you still call it a comrade once the war is over?"
