Wizard: Starting With the Knights Breathing Method Chapter 2801: 572: The Laws of Spiritual Treasure, Nightmare’s Fate!

Previously on Wizard: Starting With the Knights Breathing Method...
Leon has begun awakening the formidable authorities of the Nether Emperor, allowing him to command the power of the Mother River and suppress mid-level 9 demons. Meanwhile, Levi intercepted and executed the Crow Feather Demon King Victor in the Seventh Layer of Hell, extracting memories that revealed the suspicious influence of the Ancient Snake Mother. Upon returning to the Ancient Banyan Fairyland, Levi successfully mastered the Nine Realms of Descent, a powerful ninth-circle nightmare spell designed to trap targets in an inescapable spiral of dream spaces. This breakthrough caught the attention of the Daydreamer, who immediately set out for the Ancient Dragon Continent after witnessing the spell's potential.

"Senior, do you require something of me?"

Levi stepped forward to welcome the guest, greeting the legendary figure who had arrived.

"I have reviewed your research findings; they are truly remarkable. It brings back memories of the years I spent trapped within the Lost Monarch's form," Daydreamer remarked with a gentle smile.

Levi inquired, "Senior, is the path I am currently treading the right one?"

"There is no doubt. This spell sequence provides a direct route to the legendary realm. You must grasp this opportunity and never waver. Once you achieve legendary status, this will serve as the foundation for developing a tenth-circle spell powerful enough to challenge the Lost Monarch. Our School of Dreams is currently engaged in a strategic contest with it, and your assistance may still be required," Daydreamer spoke with high praise.

"Understood. My mind is at ease now."

Seizing the moment, Levi requested guidance from the Legendary Wizard. Together, the two worked to refine and enhance the spell sequence.

...

Nightmare World.

Lost Domain.

The Lost King stirred from his rest upon his silent throne. A graceful silhouette approached, wearing a smile; it was the Devouring Sky Demon Lord.

"What is the purpose of your visit?"

"I am here to propose a collaboration."

"We have no common ground for a partnership, do we?"

"Tell me, what are your thoughts on the rise of Nora?"

"I have none. It is of no consequence to me, nor can it impact me."

"I have received word that a wizard recently broke free from your labyrinth and has since ascended to legend. Do you truly believe he won't come seeking vengeance in the future?"

"And if he does? Since my inception, countless deities have pursued vendettas against me. Every one of them ended up as fuel for my growing maze. I would welcome more to try."

"You are still clinging to the glory of the past, Sir Rostrevor. It is time to wake up and observe... the era has shifted. Nora has repelled three demonic invasions and has even begun extending its reach into the Nightmare World."

"Are you speaking of that Black Dragon Territory on the border?"

"Indeed."

"It is a nuisance that could be erased in an instant."

"And what follows? The true bodies of those wizards remain in Nora; they only project themselves into the Nightmare World through the Black Dragon Lord's power. Killing them is futile, as they can simply return. Striking prematurely might only serve to alert Nora and make them more cautious."

"What is your point?"

"Your renown and influence far exceed my own. We ought to join forces and rally the other Nightmare Monarchs... for a grand crusade against Nora!"

"An alliance with the Abyss?"

"Certainly not. We shall simply wait for the right moment to seize the spoils while the Abyss and Nora are locked in conflict.

Do not forget that we have already secured the majority of the universe's dark side fragments, Nora's included. Gaining entry to Nora is far simpler for us than for the Abyss. We can also ferry our legions through the established spatial nodes."

The Lost Monarch appeared swayed by the Devouring Sky Demon Lord’s pitch. After a moment of silent contemplation, he replied, "I shall consider your proposal and give you my answer."

"Very well. I will begin contacting the monarchs of the neighboring great domains. Do not sink back into slumber; otherwise, by the time you wake, either the Abyss will have conquered Nora, or Nora... will have become the new titan."

With a soft chuckle, the Devouring Sky Demon Lord's image faded away.

...

One month later.

Nora Dark Side.

Windmill Village.

Owens, having reached the eighth rank of the Gray Swordsman, was busy hunting the Fallen Objects that swarmed the Ashen World. This solitary existence had persisted for millennia, yet his gaze now held a flicker of hope that was absent before.

"Owens, how have things been lately?"

Levi arrived to check on his old comrade, bringing a substantial haul of Nightmare Crystals.

"I'm surviving, though the number of monsters continues to grow... By the way, are you nearing level 10, Levi?" Owens asked, wiping sweat from his brow.

"I’m still a little way off."

"That is impressive. When we first met, we were equals, but now... there's no comparison," Owens remarked, dropping to the ground and driving his blade into the earth beside him.

Levi spent some time catching up with him, but before departing, he gave a stern warning:

"Owens, if anything unusual happens here, notify me at once."

"Understood."

Upon returning to the Ancient Dragon Continent, a sense of dread hung over Levi. He felt a lingering anxiety, a premonition that a major upheaval was imminent.

Utilizing the [Deep Red Eyes], he detected a hostile level 10 presence on the central monitor. The figure was blurred, but the crimson and black sky in the background signaled its origin from the Nightmare World. Levi grew cautious, monitoring every location linked to that realm.

"Is it possible the Nightmare Overlords I eliminated were discovered by the monarchs behind them?" he whispered to himself.

If so, the hazy figure was likely the Devouring Sky Demon Lord. Of all the monarchs he had crossed, this one was the most formidable, potentially at the late stage of level 10.

If the enemy knew his identity, why hadn't the Black Dragon Territory been attacked yet? Levi was puzzled. Nevertheless, he shared his concerns with Daydreamer to ensure the powerful wizard was prepared.

Daydreamer told Levi not to fret, echoing the words of the Copycat Sauron: "Blessings are not disasters, and disasters cannot be dodged."

Bolstered by the Legendary Wizard's reassurance, Levi resumed his Cultivation, though he kept the Black Dragon Territory on high alert. He prepared for the worst-case scenario—abandoning the territory and starting over. With his current power, relocating his base of operations was a viable option.

...

One year later.

Nora Calendar 1593.

Despair Domain.

The Despair Sovereign watched the Devouring Sky Demon Lord depart, letting out a sigh of relief. It coiled around the Sky Dome, its rotating eyes filled with deep thought.

It had initially feared the Devouring Sky Demon Lord had discovered its past mistreatment of the Horror Dominator, but the visit was for something far more world-shaking.

The Devouring Sky Demon Lord was organizing a coalition of Nightmare Monarchs to invade Nora, intending to snatch the rewards of the bloody war between the Abyss and Nora. This conflict promised to be the largest since the Nightmare World moved to plunder the Universe’s Dark Side from the Shadow.

Furthermore, the Devouring Sky Demon Lord had identified the Black Dragon Lord as the one responsible for the missing Nightmare Overlords, using that as a formal justification for war.

Of course, for a power like the Nightmare World, a pretext was unnecessary... the Black Dragon Lord had simply wandered into the line of fire.

"What should I do? Should I join them?"

Being a survivor at heart, the Despair Sovereign had no desire to get involved. However, as a rising king, it feared that refusing to cooperate would lead to isolation or becoming a target itself.

When faced with uncertainty, simulate!

The "Snake of the End" simulator was activated.

Taking a sharp breath, it bit its own tail. As blood spilled, its serpentine form completed a perfect, mystical circle of fate.

Two years passed.

After ten thousand simulations, the Despair Sovereign looked haggard, its essence nearly spent. It gazed toward the Black Dragon Territory with shock in its eyes, blood leaking from its mouth as it gasped:

"How is this possible? Could my calculations have been so wrong?"
