Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys Chapter 1582 - 546: The Emperor’s Demise
Previously on Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys...
Let's turn back the clock by thirty seconds.
Over the Imperial Palace, the fight raged in utter chaos.
Despite the Red Dragon King Straz entering the fray.
Despite the top Dawn Wizard Wockmas leaping into combat.
Still, the Empire's array of mighty experts fell back before the onslaught from the seven Divine avatars. Right then, the battlefront shifted down to the palace grounds, allowing the Divines to seize control once more.
All at once, those gathered there gazed skyward at the brilliant white flash and the rising mushroom cloud in the air!
"What is that..."
"That fellow Luen truly can't be counted on." The Nether Sea Goddess Hela squinted her stunning eyes as she remarked.
Luen's aura had vanished from her senses entirely.
It was obvious he'd perished in that latest strike.
Yet that Blasphemer grew ever harder to handle. How could he unleash an assault of such magnitude?
"This kind of might—it's reaching Demigod-level energy waves!" Evil God Grek, clad in golden armor with his many limbs, exclaimed, surprise gleaming in his gaze.
He'd also detected the total fade of the God of Hunting Luen's presence.
Right in the heat of their brutal clash, both the Devouring Snake and the Red Dragon King halted their duel, staring off toward the far skyline.
Deep confusion and astonishment filled the massive slit pupils of the Red Dragon King Straz.
As the Red Dragon King, Straz recognized that well-known secret art's energy surge all too clearly.
But power at this scale?
It was downright staggering!
The three ghostly faces along the Devouring Snake's neck displayed grave looks too, since that latest blast's energy had posed a real danger to it.
And Sword Saint Lambert, fresh from returning through the air, turned to Prince Menia nearby and couldn't resist asking amid the massive skyward burst he sensed:
"Prince Menia, that blast... Rein Crown must've triumphed, hasn't he?"
"Perhaps." Worry flickered across Menia's refined features.
The explosion just now was far too fierce, so fierce that even she doubted Rein could endure it.
Yet she led the ground forces now and had no chance to inspect Rein's state.
...
Within the Rein Mansion.
Lagaray and Cleya, no mere mortals those two women, stood immune to the divine mutation force and thus stayed locked on Rein's actions.
As they watched Rein clash fiercely with the God of Hunting Luen high above, their hearts clenched tight, rising and falling wildly with every twist in the skirmish.
The barbarian lass Lagaray clutched her Giant Shield and Battle Axe hard, her fingers clenching and easing repeatedly.
"Cleya, our strength lags so much behind Rein's."
"If we could aid him somehow, that'd be amazing."
Lagaray yearned to charge out and lend support, yet she understood the fight's level was far beyond where she could intervene, much less contribute.
Rushing in would just pull Rein's focus uselessly and offer zero boost to the overall fight.
"Lagaray, don't go thinking like that—Rein's rise has been insanely swift." Cleya offered reassurance.
Having seen Rein's swift ascent from start to finish, she grasped better than most just how phenomenal his growth pace truly was.
It made sense they couldn't match it.
Truth be told, it went beyond them—with her broad insights from the Imperial Royal Academy, Cleya had yet to encounter anyone whose advancement rivaled Rein's.
"Supporting him in other ways counts as help too, like Jennifer's efforts at this moment."
...
High in the sky.
Without a second's delay, Rein seized the Divine Fragment.
Right away, the system alert rang out:
[Ding! Detected Divine Fragment that can enhance spiritual power’s qualitative degree. Accelerate absorption? (Note: System absorption can eliminate impurities and absorb completely in one go.)]
Rein picked "Yes!" without hesitation.
Suddenly, a sinister and immense force flooded from the Divine Fragment, while the God of Hunting Luen's murmurs and spiteful hexes echoed in his ears, seeking to warp his mind and bend his resolve.
In theory, a Divine's leftover Divine Fragment was no prize for any human to claim.
At minimum, reaching Full Moon Wizard rank or Demigod status was required before one could manage such a Divine Fragment.
For Rein, though, that barrier didn't apply.
The system's involvement wiped away every hindrance like mist.
As the system refined the God of Hunting Luen's Divine Fragment, all traces of divine intent got scrubbed clean, leaving only pristine power that raced from Rein's arm upward, directly into his consciousness.
Meanwhile, the spiritual points inside Rein's mind swelled quickly!
Within mere seconds of finishing the uptake, Rein pulled up his status panel to review:
Spirit: 314 (Qualitative completion 100%)
"Hiss~ It's maxed out straight away!" Rein's eyes sparkled as he exclaimed in thrill.
Right now, the grueling prior fight and the wounds he'd taken failed to dim Rein's grin one bit.
"So mastering the Steel Heart Advanced Meditation Method's Fifth Layer lets me jump right to Full Moon Wizard level!"
The Steel Heart Advanced Meditation Method's Fifth Layer works by crafting a 'Steel Heart' within the mental sea, which to a degree surpasses mortal limits and can be seen as a basic echo of lesser divine fragments.
Without forming that 'Steel Heart', as with Rein currently, even maxed-out spiritual power quality wouldn't allow progression.
