Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys Chapter 1575 - 543: Classified Information and Promotion (Part 2)

In the Imperial Palace, Menia and the royal elders convened an emergency meeting, deciding to stage a new Guardian investiture ceremony in two days to covertly summon most Imperial Guardians to the capital, including the powerhouse Crown Walker, despite risks to provincial defenses against cults. Secret messages were dispatched via Blood Falcons to maintain the ruse, buying time against potential Divine interference. Meanwhile, Rein advanced his "Steel Heart" meditation to 412 will runes at the Bixiu Mechanization School, benefiting from the waning effects of the Extraordinary Wisdom Potion, before receiving an urgent summons from Menia. In a secure chamber, Menia revealed the Emperor's true failed ascension—interrupted by Divine Avatars, leaving him gravely injured—and the rushed timeline driven by the intensifying energy tide favoring the Divines' revival. She also disclosed that the Empire's three ancient Demigod ancestors had ventured to other worlds two millennia ago, limited by human lifespans.

"Other worlds?" Rein's eyes widened a touch, filled with surprise.

Rein had encountered mentions and accounts of different realms in old scrolls, but he fully realized that the ones Menia spoke of were absolutely not the hellish domains or fiendish planes.

"Does it involve some kind of spatial gateway?"

"No, the ancient texts record that only upon reaching Demigod can one detect that shifting gateway via a strange intuition," Menia clarified gradually.

"A strange intuition, detecting that shifting gateway?" Rein repeated, his forehead creasing lightly as he paid close attention.

Assuming the words held truth and the records were accurate, the details shared demanded deep thought.

"Might this explain why the Divines arrived in incarnations to block His Majesty's rise?"

"It's unclear; it could be part of it, or perhaps not just that alone," Menia replied with a shake of her head.

Rein gave a nod, grasping the point.

Though Menia held a key role in the Royal Family, she wasn't the Empire's ruler, so lacking access to certain highest secrets was entirely expected.

Plus, the knowledge he'd gained that day was already abundant.

"Rein, should things turn as dire as before, please prioritize your own well-being," Menia's lovely gaze fixed on Rein as she urged sincerely.

"I will, Menia—take care of yourself too."

"Oh, and this issue remains highly classified right now. Beyond the Royal Family elders, even the rest of the Empire Guardians haven't been informed of the exact details yet."

"Mm."

Upon exiting the side chamber of the Imperial Palace, Rein headed back home first to handle a few arrangements.

Luckily, his home sat in the Third Ring of the Imperial City, distant from the palace itself. During the previous clash, the core damage struck only the Imperial Palace and Inner Ring areas.

The Second Ring escaped with barely a scratch, much less the Third Ring.

Still, Rein took steps for essential safeguards and warnings.

He instructed his family to stay indoors for the next couple of days and activated a defensive Witch Array around the home to shield from any spillover combat effects.

"Rein, is trouble brewing?" The elegant lady Jennifer appeared to pick up on something.

"No need to fret; it's merely a safety measure," Rein replied, bound by his vow to Menia against revealing it, and for folks below Epic strength, early awareness could prove harmful.

Several hours passed before Rein made his way back to the Bixiu Mechanization School.

This visit, though, skipped the hidden room; instead, he proceeded to the Mechanical Assembly Hall.

Gazing up at the immense Mechanical Demon Dragon, a glint of resolve sparked in Rein's eyes.

"If Menia's assessment holds true, the day after tomorrow brings real peril, yet it also offers a chance for me—success hinges on my ability to grasp it."

After a brief reflection, Rein called for Audrey and instructed:

"Audrey, collect every rare mineral stock in the school and bring them here."

At the same time.

Over the skies of Casweis Province.

An elder mounted on a huge Blue Dragon appeared to be surveying his domain when abruptly, the insignia on his Wizard Robe glowed faintly. With a wave, he tuned in briefly, then displayed a trace of uncertainty.

Yet soon after, both dragon and rider sped swiftly toward Imperial City Tamriel.

Deep within the Beverly Mountains' enormous Wind Roc nest.

All at once, the Wind Roc Queen Beatrix lifted her graceful head and glanced toward the heavens. She distinctly felt a known presence racing off.

"Has Walkmas departed as well?"

"Looks like this Energy tide-triggered event is exceptionally unusual."

From lofty heights, observers could spot amid the clouds a gigantic Silver Dragon hurtling to the Imperial City, bearing an aged form in a muted gray Wizard Robe, gripping a gnarled gray staff.

This figure was Walkmas himself, a seasoned Empire Guardian hailing from Sword Bearer roots, who once encountered Rein.

Right now, expanding the scene across the whole Empire realm would reveal parallel occurrences high above Moselle Province, Nome Province, Sava Province, and further territories.

One day afterward.

Shirendil Plateau.

Inside the subterranean Mechanical Assembly Hall at the Isodre School outpost, a handful of High Rank Wizards conferred intently.

Bradley, the Bixiu Mechanization School's Vice Sect Leader, eyed the sand model replicating the full Shirendil Plateau setup, his features beaming with delight as he declared:

"Sect Leader, thanks to the vast array of Mechanical Scythe Claw Dragons and Sharp Roar Dragons provided by Lord Rein, combined with solid backing from the Isodre School, we're presently invincible and have reclaimed nearly seventy percent of the plateau's terrain."

"Furthermore, the key aspect is this: based on the patterns of those alien spider hordes, we can largely pinpoint the Secret School’s Tutkash outpost to this slim band."

Bradley indicated the thin zone along the plateau's western edge.

"Yes, what a satisfying triumph!"

"That said, the true challenge begins here. I recommend halting any more advances at once and dispatching word to Lord Rein, requesting his presence on the plateau," Sect Leader Moria responded, his face far from cheerful—instead marked by vigilance.

He'd reviewed the thorough combat logs, and despite the aid from those keen mechanical constructs, the losses among the wizards remained considerable.
