Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys Chapter 1495 - 514: The True Knight
Previously on Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys...
A jolt of alarm struck Rein’s heart as he witnessed the scene unfolding before him.
The situation would have been manageable if the enemy had only summoned a single additional clone; a desperate struggle might have still yielded an uncertain result. However, the Nether Sea Goddess Hela seemed to be blatantly cheating, abruptly manifesting five clones of herself. This was simply...
Rein also noticed the swarms of Flying Fish Knights and Manta Knights from the Sea God Sect. Like a massive flock of crows, they converged from every direction, weaving a sky-blocking net that completely encircled them.
Furthermore, as if acting upon a silent command, these predatory aquatic beasts began to rhythmically exhale mist. Before long, a soft, steady rain started to fall across the battlefield.
It was obvious that this rainy environment provided a significant advantage to the Nether Sea Goddess Hela.
Despite Rein’s meticulous efforts to lure Hela onto the island, his tactical advantage had been severely eroded by her latest maneuvers.
This realization caused Rein to knit his brows even tighter in frustration.
As Rein scrambled to find a way to break the deadlock, Menia’s spiritual voice suddenly echoed from behind him:
"Rein, I have a method, but you must place your absolute trust in me."
"Rein, do you trust me?"
"Hmm?" Rein was momentarily baffled by Menia’s sudden, cryptic questioning.
He turned his head slightly, seeing Menia watching him with an expression of unprecedented gravity.
Uncertain of the true weight behind her request for "trust," Rein hesitated to give a definitive answer.
"Trust me."
Clad in her crimson wizard robe, the Red Queen Menia began to emit wisps of fresh blood that drifted around her. Though the amount was small, Rein could sense the terrifying, surging energy contained within those droplets.
Simultaneously, a translucent phantom emerged from Menia’s mature and elegant frame.
The figure glided toward Rein. His initial instinct was to resist, but remembering Menia’s plea, he forced his mind to relax. In that instant, the transparent image of Menia stepped forward and merged completely into Rein’s body.
Following the phantom, the threads of faint golden blood flowed into Rein like gentle, warmth-filled streams.
"Dragon Blood Sacrifice?!" Upon witnessing this, the Nether Sea Goddess Hela immediately recognized the nature of Menia’s actions.
"That dragon scion actually agreed to perform the Dragon Blood Sacrifice for you!" Hela spoke with a hint of disbelief. Her gaze flickered between Rein and the deathly pale Menia, who was now collapsing slowly like a puppet whose strings had been cut.
"I see, you possess the Multi-Headed Dragon Bloodline, allowing you to almost perfectly assimilate everything the other party offers."
Rein paid no heed to Hela’s commentary; he was too stunned by the internal metamorphosis taking place. System notifications flashed across his vision like a rapid scroll:
...
[Host has received an infusion of unknown energy; spiritual power has been vastly enhanced!]
...
[Host has received high-quality Dragon Bloodline infusion; bloodline concentration has increased significantly. Seventh Form 'Extremely Old Dragon' has been automatically unlocked.]
...
"This is..."
"The Extremely Old Dragon Form?"
Rein felt an inexhaustible torrent of power erupting within him. While in his three-headed dragon state, his physical form began to expand even further.
Unlike his previous old dragon form—which was thirty percent larger than a standard giant dragon—Rein’s size now swelled by an additional twenty meters, reaching a staggering length of nearly eighty meters. His strength, agility, and all other attributes skyrocketed in tandem.
By his estimation, Rein felt his raw power had increased by over sixty percent.
At the same time, fragments of memories that were not his own flashed through his mind like a frantic slideshow: a young girl, rigid royal protocols, opulent palace feasts, towering dragons, refined young noblemen, and multi-headed dragons...
"Are these... Prince Menia’s memory fragments?!" Rein thought in shock.
He caught sporadic glimpses of Menia’s life from her childhood to the present. He realized that once he fully absorbed this energy 'infusion,' he would likely inherit the entirety of Menia’s knowledge.
Essentially, every one of Menia’s secrets now lay bare before him.
For a woman, such an act represented a monumental sacrifice!
Most importantly, Rein finally understood the meaning behind the peculiar look Menia had given him earlier.
"Prince Menia, you shouldn't have asked if I trust you, but rather if I am worthy of your trust," Rein sighed inwardly.
However, there was no time to dwell on these emotions.
Rein was acutely aware of the staggering price Menia had paid for this power-up!
He had to move fast and end this battle immediately. Only by finishing the fight quickly could he hope to detach this consciousness and return it to her body; otherwise...
Rein was not entirely selfless, but he possessed a code of ethics that made him loath to use such sacrificial methods to gain power.
Furthermore, for Rein, increasing his strength wasn't necessarily as easy as breathing, but it certainly wasn't difficult—as proven by his ascent to a Fourth Level Dawn Wizard in less than two years.
