Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys Chapter 1461 - 501: Consecutive Job Change Prompts (3)

Previously on Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys...
Rein explored the depths of the underground facility, discovering three memory crystals containing systematic knowledge of Goblin Engineering. Upon absorbing the information, he triggered system notifications for legendary and epic-level profession changes, though he currently lacks the practical requirements to finalize them. While his initial search for the fifth layer of his meditation method remains unfulfilled, the final crystal revealed the blueprints for a massive Floating City. This discovery led Rein to realize that the metallic, multi-layered site he is currently investigating is actually an ancient goblin super-weapon.

"This level is the second basement, dedicated to mechanical structures..."

"The third basement lies below, serving as the materials storage vault..."

"The fourth basement functions as the power and transmission hub..."

"As for the fifth basement, the lowest level, it houses the control room..."

"There are actually three additional floors?" Rein's brow furrowed deeply.

"The control room is situated at the very bottom? What a peculiar layout..."

He was uncertain which floor held the source of the Floating City’s malfunction, but it was highly unlikely to be the material storage area on the next level.

Consequently, if he intended to solve the mystery of this Floating City or attempt to repair it, he would need to descend at least two more levels, perhaps even three!

Yet, judging by their current circumstances, the level of peril only escalated the deeper they ventured.

Their four-man squad had only reached the second basement, yet one member was already severely wounded and two others had sustained light injuries. One must remember that their group consisted of three Epic-level powerhouses.

"It is no marvel that the Ancient Wizard School Valziger became trapped here, even with an elite expeditionary force commanded by their Sect Leader."

Rein vividly recalled seeing records of this in a black leather diary during his exploration of the Valziger ruins, which had baffled him at the time. After all, the Sect Leader of an Ancient Wizard School likely possessed the strength of a Peak Dawn Wizard, yet they had vanished while scouting the New Continent.

Previously, he had speculated that the leader might have perished in a clash with a rival Wizard School.

Now, however, the likelihood that they were imprisoned within this place seemed much greater.

Rein’s eyes flickered as he processed the situation. Having already identified an exit route from the Floating City’s architectural blueprints, he was capable of departing whenever he wished.

"Do I press further down, or do I retreat?"

The incentive to keep descending was straightforward: he had yet to locate the continuation of the Meditation Method. However, there was no guarantee it remained below. It was entirely possible that the Sect Leader’s intense combat had destroyed his personal belongings.

Countless such variables existed.

On the other hand, the reason to turn back was clearly rooted in safety.

For a brief moment, Rein wavered.

But as he glanced at the wounded Terrio and the others, he quelled the urge to continue the descent.

"The danger of exploring further is simply too extreme!"

Furthermore, the whispers were likely to grow more intense. Rein had a premonition that those small black insects were a warning, suggesting that even more grotesque horrors awaited them in the depths.

"Perhaps I should seek further intelligence from Prince Menia or those senior Dawn Wizards."

Having reached a conclusion, a thought suddenly struck him. He stared at the three memory crystals resting on the table, his expression shifting as he fell into contemplation.

To Rein, the significance and worth of these three crystals were indisputable. If handed over to the Federation, they would spark a revolution in the fields of Demon Statue manufacturing and Mechanical Creation.

"Should I destroy them?"

"Would I be the only one who ever knew?"

"No! The primary threat facing the Federation, the Empire, and all of mankind isn't each other, but these awakening titans like the Giant Beasts and Divine entities!"

The data stored within these crystals could, to some degree, bolster humanity's tactics against such beings.

Rein gathered the three crystals and moved swiftly back toward Terrio and the rest of the group.

"Lord Rein, have you discovered what transpired in this ancient Goblin city?" Sword Saint Terrio asked with a trace of hope as Rein approached.

Rein shook his head, replying, "Not yet. There are no records of those events up there. It is clear, however, that whatever happened was incredibly sudden."

"There might be records on some of the documents, but after so many years, the papers have fused together and dried up, making them unreadable."

"Still, our efforts weren't entirely fruitless."

"Oh?" Rein's comment instantly grabbed the interest of Terrio and Hernandez. Even Haleem, who was groaning on the floor, shifted his gaze toward him.

"The Goblin city ruins we currently occupy is actually a Floating City!" Rein declared, looking around with a faint smile.

"What!" the three cried out in shock.

Rein’s revelation was like a thunderbolt striking their minds!

Haleem, in particular, forced himself to sit upright despite the agonizing pain.

Observing their wide-eyed shock and stunned expressions, Rein smiled and offered the three crystals to Terrio and Hernandez. "Your Highnesses, look through these and you will understand."

"Swish!"

A hand swathed in white bandages darted out, snatching one of the crystals.

"Let me see... hiss..." The hand belonged to Haleem.

The sudden movement seemed to tear at his injuries, causing the elderly man to wince and grimace in pain.
