Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys Chapter 1436 - 491: Six Forms_3

"What?" The admiral gasped, visibly stunned by the news!
A moment later, he dashed toward the lookout point. Snatching up the brass monocular, he pressed it to his eye to scan the terrain below.
Just as reported, a mountain-sized carcass lay sprawled across a clearing in the woods. Around the fallen beast, two massive dragons and a gathering of elites from both the Empire and the Federation were locked in deep conversation.
"In its youth, this fire dragon hunted and consumed a pure-blooded red dragon. Based on that, we estimated its strength to be at least at the late-stage Epic rank... and yet, it has been slain," the admiral whispered to himself, his voice thick with disbelief.
Nearby, Vice Speaker Bertrand was still fuming with indignation, though the sight of Trena by his side helped soothe his temper.
"The airship fleet took a brutal beating this time, but it forced a major secret out of the Empire’s delegation. This Rein—his background is clearly extraordinary!" Bertrand mused silently.
After a moment of reflection, Bertrand addressed the elegant female parliamentarian standing next to him.
"Parliamentarian Trena, we must re-evaluate the significance of young Rein. His true identity is likely far from ordinary. Therefore, regarding certain matters... you understand what needs to be done, don't you?"
"Ah? This... very well, I shall do my best."
Trena grasped Bertrand’s implication immediately. However, she couldn't help but feel conflicted. Was she truly expected to actively seduce a young man who was barely older than her own daughter?
The mere thought caused a flush of crimson to spread across Trena’s beautiful face. Her mind drifted back to the words Rein had spoken earlier: "His identity is not suitable to become the Guardian Knight of the Heidelberg Duchy."
"Is it possible that Lord Rein actually possesses the Dragon Bloodline of the Imperial Royal Family?" she wondered.
"It makes sense now why he refused to serve as the duchy’s Guardian Knight back then."
"And yet, he was willing to become my personal Guardian Knight."
As these thoughts swirled, Trena’s heart began to flutter uncontrollably.
...
A few minutes passed.
On the ground below, Sword Saint Terrio received a magical transmission from the airship. After listening to the report, he turned a bewildered look toward Menia.
"Prince Menia, everything is exactly as you described..." Terrio began.
"This ancient fire dragon was known as 'Anguskin,' a creature that terrorized the New Continent millennia ago. Ancient chronicles state it disappeared without a trace after defeating and eating a red dragon."
"It is as I thought." Menia showed no sign of shock, offering only a composed nod of confirmation.
Rein, however, stared at Menia with profound surprise, thinking: "The Imperial Royal Family knows far more about the Dragon Bloodline than I suspected."
"Menia’s earlier warning regarding my situation must be incredibly important."
"But even in my search through the ancient records, I found no mention of dragons with two or multiple heads."
"I'll need to conduct a much more thorough investigation once I return..."
Suddenly, Menia seemed to recall something and added: "Furthermore, it is highly probable that this fire dragon was intentionally disturbed. Did you not dispatch anyone to inspect the volcanic crater over there?"
"There are likely traces remaining, perhaps the leftover components of a Witch Array used for an awakening ritual." Menia pointed a slender, pale finger toward the volcanic path several miles away, where pillars of black smoke still rose into the sky.
"That... I will send a team immediately. No, I will go and inspect it personally," Sword Saint Terrio replied, looking embarrassed.
The Federation had not only failed to stop the ancient dragon 'Anguskin,' but they hadn't even initiated a proper investigation. It was an embarrassing oversight. To an outsider, it might even look like the Federation had orchestrated the entire disaster themselves!
