Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys Chapter 1435 - 491: Sixth Form_2

"The Sixth Form?"
Rein’s attention was immediately captured by the notification regarding his new transformation as he scanned the system logs.
"An ancient dragon?!"
Upon re-examining the system’s details for the ‘ancient fire dragon,’ a realization began to dawn on Rein.
Since he had started his journey down the path of bloodline, Rein had diligently studied numerous historical records and texts concerning dragon-kind.
A dragon's might is typically tied to its lineage, physical scale, and similar factors.
More specifically, their size and longevity are almost inextricably linked to how many years they have spent growing.
A mature hybrid descendant of a dragon could likely slay a juvenile giant dragon with ease.
In contrast, an old dragon represents a stage of existence reached only after a dragon has fully matured and surpassed its prime.
"Considering the creature's massive scale and that molten plating over its hide, it must have spent several millennia slumbering within the volcanic core."
Rein contemplated the dark red carcass of the mutated fire dragon, lost in thought.
"Regardless, gaining a new form is undoubtedly beneficial. With a thirty percent increase in body mass, I’ll likely stand over fifty meters tall once I transform."
"Since the potency of the Dragon Soul Strike scales with it, my overall combat power has reached a new peak!"
Nearby, the red dragon Tasa had been observing Rein with her massive, slitted pupils for some time. Just as she prepared to question him about those ‘three dragon heads,’ the sound of footsteps echoed from the surrounding area.
Rein’s ears flickered at the noise. He immediately retracted the extra dragon heads and began the process of canceling his transformation.
By the time the swirling dust settled, Rein had successfully shifted back into his human appearance.
It was at this moment that Terrio, the Federation Sword Saint, and Hernandez, the Dawn Wizard, arrived on the scene with hurried steps.
"Lord Rein, I had no idea you were hiding such a powerful trump card," Terrio remarked with a boisterous laugh, clapping Rein on the shoulder.
"On another note, Lord Rein, just what is your tie to the Imperial Royal Family? You aren't some secret bastard son, are you?" After a few polite exchanges, Terrio leaned in and whispered the question.
"A bastard son?"
Rein dismissed the idea with a wave of his hand. "Lord Terrio, if I were truly the Emperor’s illegitimate child, I certainly wouldn't be assigned to this diplomatic mission."
"No, I’m referring to being the offspring of *that* person," Terrio clarified, lowering his voice further while gesturing toward the sky.
"Which person?" Rein asked, momentarily confused.
A second later, the realization hit him, and he couldn't help but offer a strained smile. "Lord Terrio, if Prince Menia were to hear such a joke, there would be hell to pay."
"People say Prince Menia never wed, but that doesn't rule out the existence of children. During that desperate struggle, Prince Menia didn't even require you to step in, yet you claim there's no connection?"
"Furthermore, Lord Rein, your age fits the timeline perfectly," Terrio added, sounding quite convinced of his own theory.
Rein found himself momentarily at a loss for words.
He never expected a figure as prominent as the Federation Sword Saint to be such a gossip once he dropped his guard.
Fortunately, Rein was spared from having to come up with an excuse.
High above, Menia and Reginald—both clad in crimson wizard robes—descended gracefully using the Floating Technique.
Their arrival immediately cast a veil of solemnity over the area.
Menia first stared in wonder at the gargantuan fire dragon corpse. She gave Rein a brief, silent nod before walking slowly toward the remains of the abnormal beast.
Stretching out a pale hand, she first inspected the jagged wounds on the carcass, appearing to analyze the texture of the hide and muscle.
She then took a small sample of the dark, viscous blood and brought it to her nose to catch the scent.
"This fire dragon has lived for over three thousand years. It has far outlasted the typical lifespan of a mature dragon, reaching the status of an old dragon," Menia announced.
"An old dragon? That explains its terrifying strength!" Reginald exclaimed, unable to hide his shock.
It had taken the combined effort of three giant dragons to bring it down; it made sense now that they knew it was an old dragon.
"Oh?"
Rein also looked at Menia with a hint of surprise.
Her conclusion supported his own theory that the mutated fire dragon was incredibly ancient.
Sword Saint Terrio and the Water Element Dawn Wizard Hernandez were even more stunned. They traded looks before Terrio spoke up:
"Prince Menia, we respect your expertise, but to our knowledge, fire dragons—even as high-tier sub-dragons—never live past two thousand years?"
Rein nodded slightly as he listened to Terrio’s inquiry.
He shared the same curiosity.
Even the most elite sub-dragons couldn't compete with the longevity of true giant dragons, usually hitting their limit at two millennia.
True giant dragons could survive for three thousand years or more, while legendary figures like the ‘Red Dragon King’ Straz possessed lifespans that defied estimation.
"Lord Terrio, under normal circumstances, your assessment is correct."
"However, this ancient fire dragon possesses an incredibly potent red dragon aura. My theory is that it is either a first-generation hybrid of a red dragon or it once consumed a red dragon itself."
"What! It devoured a red dragon?"
Terrio stared at the massive mountain of flesh on the ground, completely shaken by the revelation!
...
Meanwhile.
Aboard the massive Federation airship.
The admiral of the intelligence wing hurried into the bridge, a look of triumph on his face.
"Vice Chairman, we have identified the source of that fire dragon. It was 'Anguskin,' a legendary ancient fire dragon that was active thousands of years ago."
"Based on our theories, its life should have ended long ago, which is why the intelligence department didn't flag it as a potential risk. Its abilities—"
"That's enough! The fight is over. There is no point in listing its special traits now!" Vice Chairman Bertrand snapped, waving his hand in annoyance.
