Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys Chapter 1432 - 490: Battle of the Three Dragons
Previously on Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys...
The aerial battlefield had shifted into a desperate pursuit.
Red Queen Menia was desperately guiding the wounded Red Dragon Tasa through a series of evasive maneuvers. They dove and climbed to dodge the relentless strikes of the abnormal Fire Dragon, which seemed obsessed with ending Tasa's life.
Reginald and Giant Dragon Ted trailed closely behind the monstrous predator, searching for any opening to strike and draw its aggression away from their allies.
However, the high-speed weaving of the three parties made it nearly impossible for Reginald or Ted to find a clear window to intervene without risking a collision.
The abnormal Fire Dragon had previously taken the full force of Menia’s 'Blazing Light Wave Cone,' a potent Dawn Killing Move. Yet, because it had successfully shielded its vital organs like the heart and head, the fist-sized puncture in its gut was negligible compared to its massive seventy-meter frame.
Consequently, its flight stability and agility remained largely unimpaired.
The situation for Red Dragon Tasa was far more dire.
With a shredded right wing, Tasa's speed and handling were compromised, allowing the pursuer to close the distance with terrifying efficiency.
"Menia, get the Floating Technique ready. I have to face that Fire Dragon in a melee!" Red Dragon Tasa signaled through their mental link.
"Hold on, Tasa! The size gap is too immense. You won't stand a chance in a physical brawl," Menia countered, her voice full of concern.
Among the dragon kin, while bloodline purity determines potential, physical dimensions are the primary factor in close-quarters dominance.
Since Tasa was barely half the size of the monstrosity, Menia was terrified of her partner engaging in such a lopsided struggle.
"There is no more time, Menia..." Tasa replied, her voice laced with urgency.
The dragon could feel the rush of air from the predator right on her tail!
Internal alarms screamed in her mind, warning of imminent disaster!
Before another word could be exchanged, the abnormal Fire Dragon lunged, its massive, terrifying claws reaching out to seize Tasa from behind!
"Look out!"
At the critical threshold of life and death!
"Bang!"
A dark silver blur descended like a falling star, slamming violently into the back of the abnormal Fire Dragon.
The impact was so massive that the predator, which had been inches from Tasa, was driven downward as if struck by a celestial hammer!
"It’s Rein!"
A wave of relief washed over Menia and Tasa. They realized instantly that their savior wasn't Reginald, but Rein, who had stayed behind to stand guard.
Rein had taken on his dragon form and arrived just in time to break the siege.
"Wait, Menia... do you see that? Rein’s dragon form looks much bigger than before," Tasa noted with surprise.
Menia was stunned by the observation!
She immediately locked her eyes on the dark silver dragon now locked in a mid-air struggle with the abnormal beast.
Indeed, while the dark silver dragon was still smaller than the seventy-meter behemoth, the gap had narrowed significantly. Rein now appeared to be at least forty meters in length.
"He has definitely grown."
"Menia, I need to go down and assist. Rein might not be able to handle that monster alone," Tasa said, slowing her flight to circle back toward the fight.
"Wait, I have to mend your wing first."
Menia began chanting a rapid incantation.
With a swift gesture of her hand, a cluster of flames embedded with shimmering red crystals enveloped Tasa’s mangled wing.
The damaged membrane began to knit itself back together with unnatural speed; at this pace, the wing would be fully functional within minutes.
This synergy was the core reason for the dual-selection process of Dragon Knights.
When a Dawn Wizard and a dragon share the same elemental attribute, they can augment and heal one another perfectly.
"Faster, Menia!" Tasa urged, her eyes fixed on the battle unfolding below.
As they spoke, a massive silhouette of earthy yellow soared past them, diving toward the chaos where Rein and the Fire Dragon were embroiled.
"Ted is moving in!"
Reginald’s voice, sounding somewhat embarrassed, echoed through the air: "Princess Menia, I’ve sent Ted to back him up. Lord Rein is incredibly strong, but that size difference makes a solo victory nearly impossible."
Menia looked up to see Reginald using the Floating Technique to descend slowly through the sky.
In a multi-dragon melee, it was far safer for a rider to dismount.
If the dragons began to tumble or roll during their struggle, even a Dawn Wizard could be crushed or lethally injured if they couldn't get out of the way in time.
...
Directly on the back of the abnormal Fire Dragon.
Rein, in his dark silver dragon form, felt no satisfaction despite landing a direct hit.
His claws had pierced the enemy's Molten Armor, but he could feel the resistance beneath; he hadn't managed to sink his talons deep into the flesh.
The surprise attack had been enough to knock the abnormal Fire Dragon off balance, but it hadn't dealt a finishing blow.
"Roar!!"
As they plummeted, the Fire Dragon regained its composure with frightening speed, lashing out at Rein with primal fury.
In the blink of an eye, scales were ripped away and blood sprayed into the wind!
"Shh!"
Even with Rein’s Steel Armor reinforcement, the opponent’s claws managed to tear through his hide.
In terms of raw defensive power, the two were shockingly well-matched.
Rein was a Metallic Giant Dragon built for physical combat, while the opponent was technically just a Top-Level Sub-dragon.
The sheer power of this abnormal Fire Dragon was becoming terrifyingly clear.
"This thing possesses at least the strength of a late-stage Epic tier!"
