Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys Chapter 1416 - 483: Frenzy_2
Previously on Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys...
In a flash, every droplet of rain in the vicinity crystallized into black ice, detonating violently in all directions under the force of the shockwave.
For a moment, the heavy veil of rain was shredded across a span of hundreds of meters, and even the obsidian clouds above were nearly pierced through!
....
Deep within the curtain of rain.
"Ah!!"
A harrowing cry erupted from the control room; it was Old screaming in agony!
Rebecca and Benito watched as the Ajax Magic Statue, previously commanded by their comrade, ground to a sluggish halt. Simultaneously, dozens of white wraiths were seen drifting out from the interior of the construct.
It was evident that under the relentless assault of these spirits, their ally had perished where he sat!
"Damn it! Old..."
Despite Old’s numerous character flaws, he was still their teammate. Rebecca couldn't restrain herself from slamming her fist heavily against the dashboard in front of her!
The circumstances were turning increasingly dire for the two survivors.
"Rebecca, have you felt it? Both our spiritual power and our physical bodies are becoming stiff."
"The effectiveness of our witchcraft has dropped by at least ten percent. If we don’t find a path to escape, we will eventually suffer the same fate as Old—slowly corroded and swarmed to death by these wraiths."
For the first time, a sharp edge of panic colored Benito’s deep voice.
Even by remaining stationary, the longer they stayed trapped within this domain, the more likely the wraiths were to sniff them out.
His desire to flee was natural.
Benito had a wife and a darling daughter; his will to live was powerful.
"You’re right."
"However, the issue is that this domain is peculiar, appearing to possess a unique isolating property. Without a proper plan for a breakout, wandering blindly will only draw more wraiths and hasten our demise!"
Rebecca’s sharp, clear voice rang out.
She understood that in the most desperate moments, one had to maintain absolute composure.
"Benito, can you faintly hear a roar?"
"Does that sound like Gazrian’s cry to you?"
Even though the Nether Sea Domain possessed a specialized isolating effect, Gazrian was far from a common creature. To truly silence it, nothing less than the manifestation of the Nether Sea Goddess’s true form would suffice.
In reality, Rebecca and Benito were only a few hundred meters from Gazrian. Under normal conditions, Gazrian’s roar would have been thunderous to their ears, yet currently, the sound reached them as faintly as a kitten’s mewling.
...
High in the sky beneath the oppressive clouds.
Red Queen Menia was lost in contemplation.
Confronted by the Nether Sea Domain, she was well aware that standard witchcraft, or even a Dawn Killing Move, would fail to pierce through.
Still, she was not entirely without options.
She possessed a hidden trump card, though it required the sacrifice of burning her Dragon Bloodline to activate.
Furthermore, the repercussions were devastating; once unleashed, the purity of her Dragon Bloodline would be permanently diminished, resulting in a lasting reduction of her overall power.
Because of this, she wavered.
Suddenly, her gaze shifted toward the horizon ahead.
"Hmm? Was that Gazrian’s roar?"
"This is...."
...
At that same moment.
Soaring through the skies near the Fadil Mountains.
Two medium-sized airships, dispatched by the Federation’s scout fleet for reconnaissance, had reached their destination.
Jason, a young officer, peered through his brass telescope, his brow furrowing slightly.
Within his field of vision, there was no sign of any hostile forces.
Yet he was acutely aware that appearances could be deceiving.
After a moment of thought, he commanded, "Prepare to open fire!"
"My lord, there is nothing in front of us. What is our target?" the adjutant beside him asked, visibly bewildered.
"Target that hill and commence a saturation strike. Just because it’s invisible to the eye doesn’t mean it isn’t there," Jason stated, pointing toward the ridge.
"This..."
"Follow the order! Adjutant!"
"Yes, sir, Major General!" the adjutant saluted.
Moments later, the two medium-sized airships banked sharply to bring their broadsides to bear, establishing a firing line. Then, tongues of flame erupted from their hulls!
"Boom! Boom! Boom!"
Upon that peak in the Fadil Mountains, small plumes of smoke rose one after another as the airship bombardment swept across the hilltop, blanketing the entire area.
Suddenly, the air above a clearing behind the summit began to ripple, as if an invisible membrane was being disturbed.
"There it is!" Jason shouted with excitement!
"Concentrate all fire on the far side of the hill!"
Shortly after, like a bursting bubble, a clearing on the peak was suddenly revealed to everyone.
In the center of the clearing sat a black Witch Array, over ten meters wide, pulsing with intense energy. Even more shocking was the sight of a stunningly beautiful girl clad in black robes, hovering directly above the array.
This sight left the soldiers on the scout ships speechless and sent shockwaves through the high-ranking generals of the Federation fleet watching from behind.
They had not expected someone to be orchestrating such a scheme right under their noses.
"This... this is... the Avatar of the Nether Sea Goddess!" a senior Federation officer exclaimed, lowering his telescope with a face full of terror.
Being in command of the Federation Navy, he was intimately familiar with the divine iconography of the Nether Sea Goddess.
"There is no doubt!"
"So, the storm clouds and the rain curtain—they are being manipulated by the Nether Sea Goddess from the shadows!"
"Looking at that Witch Array, I suspect the Nether Sea Goddess intends to enslave the 'Ice Sea Giant Demon' Gazrian."
"What leads you to that conclusion?"
"According to the ancient texts, Gazrian is the sovereign of all Magic-tailed Three-headed Sea Dragons. Any creature of that bloodline shares a mystical link with their king."
"Therefore, the Sea God Sect must have captured the previous Magic-tailed Three-headed Sea Dragon to track down the location of Gazrian’s seal."
"Yes! That explains everything."
Following a brief consultation, the high commanders managed to piece together the truth behind the incident.
But just then, Deputy Speaker Bertrand of the Federation cut through their talk, saying:
"Gentlemen, this is no time for a history lesson. Our people are trapped within that zone; what is our move?"
"That Witch Array is clearly vital, given that the Avatar of the Nether Sea Goddess is guarding it personally," a middle-aged officer remarked.
"Precisely! The enemy likely requires that Witch Array to maintain a domain of this magnitude."
"The most logical tactic is a direct assault on the Witch Array itself!"
"That may be so, but no cannon, regardless of its power, can harm a Divine—even if it is only a mere projection," an elderly, gray-haired officer noted solemnly.
...
On the ridge at the edge of the Fadil Mountains.
The black-robed girl looked up at the two medium-sized airships that had uncovered her, her face remaining serene.
"Oh? I’ve been found?"
"Still, the time is not yet right. These ants in their flying machines need to be brushed aside."
She pointed a remarkably pale finger toward the two approaching vessels.
"Sss!"
A beam of darkness manifested from her fingertip, lashing out with incredible speed and expanding as it traveled.
By the time the dark bolt struck one of the airships, it had grown from the width of a finger to the size of a large basin.
"Swish!"
The black beam tore through the airship's gas envelope instantly.
The vessel began to list heavily, falling toward the earth in a rapid descent.
With a simple gesture, she had annihilated a medium-sized airship. Seeing this, young Major General Jason’s face paled, and he barked out:
"Quick! Full evasive maneuvers!"
"Signal the main fleet for immediate artillery support!"
However, to Jason’s amazement.
Though the girl in black could have easily finished them off with another strike, she ceased her attack and turned her gaze toward the heart of the storm.
"Hmm? Gazrian is beginning to struggle in earnest?"
The black-robed girl’s lovely eyes widened slightly in surprise.
"I had avoided intervening directly to keep from agitating it, so why is it...?"
Beneath the dark clouds, something massive was clearly thrashing.
In truth, this was because the 'Ice Sea Giant Demon' Gazrian had been battered by Rein’s Dawn Killing Move. The true damage had seared its very soul, driving it to the brink of madness.
In its frenzied state, its chaotic shockwaves were reaching the limits of what her Avatar could suppress.
...
At the epicenter of the conflict.
Rein’s silhouette flickered once more as he appeared behind Gazrian.
Simultaneously, he allocated a point to his Spiritual Attribute.
As a warm sensation flooded his system, Rein returned to his peak condition instantly.
He slammed his palm into the earth, sending a fresh surge of dark silver metallic ripples outward...
"The fifth wave!"
