Chu Mo successfully convinces her mother, Xu Yanran, to enter a relationship with Wang Yue by revealing that his unique abilities can help her become a martial artist and stop her aging. Though hesitant, Xu Yanran agrees to the arrangement out of a desire to remain by her daughter’s side. Meanwhile, Liu Ruoshi and Liu Xinru receive dire news that a powerful master from the Degenerate Mortal Realm is arriving from the Tianhai Zhang family to seek revenge. Unaware that the enemy's flying vehicle is already approaching Jinling ahead of schedule, the two women resolve to face the coming destruction alongside Wang Yue rather than flee.

Chapter 1979: Chapter 308: The Jealous Mother 4

The warrior dared not disobey the second patriarch’s command, so their flying vessel maintained its course toward Jinling without slowing down.

Hundreds of miles distant, five women sat in silence within a massive flying vessel, their eyes fixed on a central virtual screen.

The attire of these five women was striking, as they all wore classical Hanfu. Each possessed exceptional beauty; even when measured against the “Twelve Beauties of Jinling,” they were just as radiant, with the possible exception of the remarkably gifted sisters Su Jin-er and Su Xiu-er.

As for their age, judging by their looks was pointless, as they all appeared to be in their twenties or thirties.

“Uncle, they haven't halted. It looks like they are truly bent on vengeance,” remarked one woman clad in pale white Hanfu.

Nodding casually, the woman in white replied, “Increase our speed and intercept them.”

“But didn’t the palace master instruct us to refrain from acting unless it was absolutely necessary?” the woman in pale white questioned.

“The time to act has arrived. There is an individual among them at the second level of the Degeneration Realm. Neither the three major families nor Yue-er can manage someone of that caliber. If they reach Jinling, we will be forced to remain hidden; this matter must be settled before they arrive,” the woman in white explained.

She manipulated the virtual control panel, causing the large flying vessel to streak forward like a falling star, cutting off the Zhang family’s vessel before it could exit the protected zone.

The Zhang family members turned grim as their path was suddenly obstructed.

A flying vessel of such caliber was clearly extraordinary, yet it carried no emblems to reveal its sect or origin, suggesting the newcomers might be hostile.

The second patriarch of the Zhang family proceeded with caution. Opening the hatch of the vessel, he shouted, “May I ask who you are, friends? I am Zhang Haiwen from the Tianhai Zhang family. Please accept my greetings.”

His voice carried clearly into the large vessel, bolstered by the flow of his vital energy.

The woman in white offered no reply, simply commanding, “Ling-er, go and handle them.”

“Yes, uncle,” the woman in pale white answered, standing up and moving forward.

The Zhang family was caught off guard when they saw that the person blocking them was such a stunning woman.

Despite his lustful nature, the second patriarch did not dare harbor improper thoughts at that moment. Bowing, he repeated, “May I ask who you are, friends? I am Zhang Haiwen from the Tianhai Zhang family.”

Ignoring him entirely, Ling-er glided toward the Zhang family’s vessel.

Ling-er was already a great beauty, and as she soared through the sky with her white Hanfu dancing around her, she resembled a fairy descending from the heavens.

However, the second patriarch felt only dread. His eyes narrowed as he barked, “This is bad… It’s someone from the Degeneration Realm! Prepare to evacuate!”

He signaled with his hand, and a broad machete materialized in his grip. He braced himself to meet Ling-er as she drew near.

While those in the Degeneration Realm could not yet achieve true flight, they could easily leap the gap between the two vessels in a single breath.

In an instant, Ling-er arrived at the Zhang family’s vessel, a three-foot sword appearing in her hand. Striking from above, she lunged at the second patriarch.

He felt a flicker of relief during the clash, realizing her Cultivation level matched his own—she was also at the initial stage of the second level of the Degeneration Realm.

In his younger days, the second patriarch had been a fierce combatant with vast experience fighting both warriors and beasts. He considered himself peerless among those of the same rank.

He raised his machete and charged at Ling-er with confidence.

But the moment their weapons met, he knew he had miscalculated.

Even though their Cultivation levels were similar, and her combat experience seemed lacking, her martial arts techniques were vastly superior, and her Qi was much more refined.

He was forced into a defensive position after only three exchanges.

“Are you from a sacred place in the martial arts world?!” The second patriarch was terrified. He hurriedly called out, “Miss, could there be a misunderstanding? We are merely passing through; we mean no harm.”

He suspected that because she had jammed the signals and attacked travelers, she must have found a rare treasure and was trying to kill any witnesses.

He felt he was being treated most unfairly!

Ling-er did not speak, continuing her relentless assault.

Despite her great power and beauty, she was not considered particularly elite within the Xuan Nu Palace.

Among the four sisters accompanying her, she only ranked third in strength.

Determined to prove herself, she focused on the task her uncle had given her as a form of training.

The Zhang family might rule Tianhai, but compared to a sacred land of martial arts, they were merely slightly larger ants.

Fear began to consume the second patriarch as he faced the warrior from the sacred land.

He was already outmatched by Ling-er, and his growing terror only made his situation more dire. After a few more moves, he lost the ability to counter and could barely defend himself.

Driven to desperation and seeing no mercy in his opponent's eyes, he roared, “Since you won’t let me live, then let’s all die together!”

He abandoned his defense, his body beginning to swell rapidly as he attempted to commit suicide through self-destruction.

Suddenly, a flash of white light streaked through the air, and a finger-sized hole appeared in the second patriarch’s forehead.

His life force vanished instantly. His bloated form deflated like a burst balloon, returning to its normal size in a heartbeat.

“Thank you, uncle,” Ling-er said, still slightly rattled as she bowed toward her vessel.

“It is understandable to lack experience against an enemy; his Cultivation was equal to yours,” the woman in white’s voice echoed from the vessel. “Finish this quickly.”

Ling-er nodded and charged into the Zhang family’s vessel.

The five remaining Zhang family members stood no chance against a powerful being at the Degeneration Realm. Terrified and helpless, they were cut down by Ling-er’s sword in the blink of an eye.

Stepping back out, Ling-er placed her jade-like hand against the side of the vessel.

With a powerful surge of internal Qi, the entire flying vessel—and the corpses of the six Zhang family members—was reduced to silent dust. The wind swept them away as if they had never existed.

Ling-er then descended to the ground to retrieve the signal jammer before boarding her vessel, which vanished in a flash of light.

A moment later, the area was peaceful again. No one would ever know that a force capable of upending the Jinling martial arts world had been erased right there.

Meanwhile, Wang Yue had returned to the Wang family estate, oblivious to the slaughter.

He had eliminated Zhang Lingfeng not just because the man’s lust for Chu Mo had enraged him, but as a calculated move.

He knew the Tianhai Zhang family would retaliate, and he wanted to see if his theory was right—that a hidden power was watching over Jinling.

He wasn't afraid even if he was wrong; he believed his strength was comparable to an expert at the first level of the Nascent Soul realm.

If the Zhang family sent someone at the Nascent Soul realm, he would simply flee.

The Zhang family had too much to lose to let a rogue Nascent Soul expert stalk them from the shadows.

Furthermore, with the Martial Arts Alliance acting as a deterrent, they wouldn't dare harm the three major families once he was gone.

So, while killing Zhang Lingfeng seemed reckless, it wasn't truly dangerous for Wang Yue; it simply made everyone else nervous.

After parking, Wang Yue headed to his mother’s quarters. He now had full access and could enter via facial recognition without needing a key or knocking.

He walked in quietly, not wanting to disturb her, but was immediately stunned by the sight before him.

In the living area, Su Mengyan was not in her usual clothes. She was wearing a light gray bodysuit, much like the ones at Chu Mo’s gym, and was practicing yoga-like movements.

Her back was turned to him as she knelt on the floor, leaning forward on her hands and knees. The deep arch
