At this moment, the pirates' former insolence had completely vanished. They struck their heads against the ground repeatedly, pleading desperately: "Ladies, please have mercy on us. We were only acting under orders..."
"Yue’er will be the one to determine your fate," Su Mengqing remarked with a cold indifference. "However, I am quite intrigued by how a common band of pirates managed to get their hands on a submarine of this scale. Speak—who are your accomplices on the mainland?"
"To tell the truth, our organization does have ties to powerful land-based interests, but I am truly ignorant of their identities. Our commander handled every arrangement and secured the submarine himself," Hei Sha confessed instantly, selling out his superior without a second thought.
"In that case, you have no remaining value, do you?" Hong Ling cut in sharply. "Sister Qing, we should simply execute such a worthless wretch."
"Wait, no! I am still of use!" Hei Sha shrieked in a panic. "I can lead you to our stronghold. The entire hoard of treasure the Tiger Shark Pirate Gang has pillaged over the years is stored there."
"Your riches do not interest me," Su Mengqing countered. "Furthermore, any surviving pirate could serve as a navigator. Why should we keep you specifically?"
"Because our hideout is exceptionally well-hidden. Only the leader and I know the precise coordinates. The rest of the crew only travels via the submarine and has no idea where it actually is," Hei Sha argued.
The remaining four pirates offered no rebuttal, confirming that his claims were accurate.
Su Mengqing, however, remained unimpressed. With a dismissive gesture, she commanded, "Remove them. We will wait for Yue’er to return and let him decide their punishment."
Hong Ling and the three other women promptly herded the five captives away. Having ascended to the status of powerful experts at the Tianyuan realm, they felt no concern that these men could pose any threat.
Roughly ten minutes later, Wang Yue arrived. He was dragging a muscular, dark-skinned man behind him—Hei Hu, the notorious sovereign of the pirate fleet.
Despite successfully capturing Hei Hu alive, Wang Yue did not look triumphant. Instead, his features were clouded with a deep, heavy sorrow.
"What happened?" the women inquired simultaneously, noticing his grim demeanor.
Wang Yue merely shook his head. "Go see the situation for yourselves. Gather every piece of clothing left on this ship and bring them with you."
Confused by his request, the women followed his lead back to the cabin. They collected all available garments, loaded them into lifeboats, and rowed toward the submarine that sat idling nearby.
Wang Yue tossed Hei Hu down beside Hei Sha and demanded, "Speak. What manner of death do you prefer?"
"I wish to live, Young Master! I can guide you to the base. Please, spare me!" Hei Sha wailed.
Hei Hu cast a freezing glare at his subordinate but remained silent.
"I care nothing for your base. I only want the name of the faction you are working with," Wang Yue stated firmly.
"Only Hei Hu has that information. He was the one who procured the submarine," Hei Sha said, betraying his brother once more right to his face.
"Then you are indeed useless," Wang Yue said, unsheathing his blade.
Hei Sha was terrified. How was it that this man shared the exact same ruthless logic as that tall, elegant woman from before?
A beautiful woman?!
A desperate thought struck Hei Sha. Since this Young Master was traveling the seas with so many stunning companions, he must be a man of great lust. He decided to appeal to those perceived desires.
He shouted quickly, "Wait! Beyond just gold, our base holds many more beautiful women! I can take you there. Hei Hu knows he is finished, so he will never cooperate, but I will!"
Beautiful women?!
This revelation only fueled Wang Yue’s simmering rage.
The reason he felt no satisfaction after slaughtering the pirates on the submarine was tied directly to this dark secret.
Meanwhile, as Su Mengqing and the others boarded the submarine, they were met with a scene of absolute slaughter. Over four hundred pirates had been decimated by Wang Yue’s blade; many had been sliced clean in half. The interior of the vessel was literally drenched in the blood of the fallen.
Faced with this gore, everyone except Su Mengqing, Wang Xin’er, Yan Fangfei, and Hong Ling felt physically ill. The younger girls doubled over, unable to stop themselves from vomiting.
"Brother, this is too much. Why did you force us to witness this?" Wang Yue’s sister cried out, her anger masking her shock. Though she possessed great power, she had never seen such carnage, and the sight turned her stomach.
"He did this with intent," Su Mengqing explained softly. "The fundamental truth of this world is the survival of the fittest. To avoid being crushed by others, one must carve a path forward. No matter his strength, he cannot shield everyone forever. We must be prepared to face these horrors alongside him. It is better to harden yourselves now than to be paralyzed by terror when a real crisis arrives."
Understanding Wang Yue’s grim lesson, the women suppressed their revulsion and attempted to maintain their composure.
Wang Yue then directed everyone to collect the corpses so they could be cast into the ocean later.
As they moved through the lower decks, the reason for Wang Yue’s fury finally became clear.
In the deepest part of the hull, they discovered hundreds of cramped cells. Each one held four or five women, ranging from teenagers to those in their early thirties.
Every one of them was striking, with some possessing beauty that rivaled even Hong Ling and her companions.
The horrifying commonality was that they were all stripped completely bare, imprisoned like livestock in those dark rooms.
"Those absolute monsters!" Wang Yue’s sister hissed, her fists trembling with rage. "Killing them with a single strike was far too merciful!"
The other women were equally incensed. They moved quickly to clothe the traumatized captives with the garments they had brought.
Outside, Wang Yue turned his attention back to the pirate leaders. After hearing Hei Sha’s pathetic plea, he focused his gaze on Hei Hu.
As the commander, Hei Hu was far more composed than his subordinate. Seeing Wang Yue’s eyes on him, he asked, "If I lead you to the stronghold and expose my contacts, will you grant me my life?"
"No," Wang Yue replied with a shake of his head. "But I can ensure your end is less agonizing."
"Fine, I will speak," Hei Hu said, closing his eyes briefly before looking up. "I have no independent allies. I am merely a pawn of the Zhang family in Tianhai. They financed me and helped me establish this fleet to handle their most loathsome tasks."
After finishing, he gave Wang Yue a taunting smirk, his look clearly asking: Now that you know it is the Zhang family, what could a person like you possibly do about it?
Wang Yue did not question the truth of the statement. Hei Hu had likely confessed just to spite her—a final jab of defiance before the end.
In the city of Tianhai, beyond the official authorities, the four great clans—Liu, Zhang, Yan, and Hua—held absolute power. Each family was anchored by a powerful cultivator at the De-fan-jing level.
Consequently, even though Wang Yue was suspected of reaching the De-fan-jing level himself, Hei Hu refused to believe he could actually challenge such a monumental power.
