Urban Seduction: Housewives Club Chapter 1850 - 0179: The Effort to Win Over a Girl 1

Chu Mo exited the club promptly after receiving the call from Su Xiu’er. Seeing the group of four waiting outside, she inquired with curiosity, "Why aren’t you going inside?"
"Since Xiao Yue is a man, it wouldn’t be right for him to enter," Su Xiu’er clarified. "Besides, we visited you today because we want to head out and enjoy some time together."
"That sounds wonderful! Where should we go?" Chu Mo responded with an immediate agreement. Even though she felt a pang of reluctance at leaving the gym she had poured her heart into building, she prioritized the company of her dear friends. Once she was wed into the Zhang family, opportunities for such outings might vanish forever.
The four women turned their collective gaze toward Wang Yue.
It went without saying that the three Su sisters had been restricted to home training for the last three years, granted only three days of freedom each month. Chu Mo was in a similar boat; her life revolved entirely around her gym since its opening. They were essentially shut-ins with very little knowledge of local hotspots.
However, Wang Yue was no different—he had spent even more time indoors than they had. Even if he possessed memories of popular places from his previous life, those details had likely faded by now.
Of course, a man cannot easily display weakness. Consequently, Wang Yue simply commanded, "Get in the car; I’ll drive you there."
The four women trusted him implicitly, particularly the Su sisters. Having instructed Wang Yue the night before to study the art of pursuing girls, they assumed he had already crafted a solid plan.
They were unaware that while Wang Yue had indeed stayed up studying, his research—conducted alongside his aunt—wasn't about courtship, but rather how to escalate things further once a girl had been successfully won over.
While driving, Wang Yue was preoccupied, surreptitiously using his communication device to scan for nearby entertainment venues.
Before long, he pulled into a parking lot in front of an arcade.
"An arcade... that seems like a place only boys would enjoy," Su Jin’er remarked, her brow furrowing slightly.
Su Jiaojiao, however, was buzzing with excitement: "Not at all! I love it. Let’s head in!"
"What’s your take, Mo Mo?" Su Xiu’er questioned.
Chu Mo gave a nod. "I could use some relaxation too."
Su Jin’er and Su Xiu’er shared a glance, realizing that Wang Yue must have noticed Chu Mo’s recent depression and brought her here to release her pent-up stress. They gave Wang Yue a silent thumbs up in approval.
Modern arcades were a far cry from the versions seen centuries ago. Today’s games utilized brainwave-controlled virtual reality, offering experiences indistinguishable from actual combat but without any physical risk. It even allowed commoners to feel the thrill of battling savage beasts.
Upon entering, the five of them selected a hero-based game where players invaded a demonic realm to slay the demon king and seize his treasure.
The mechanics were classic and straightforward, yet the immersion was startlingly real. Once the brainwave link was established, the group felt as though they had truly stepped into another world. The only equalizer was that everyone began with identical attributes, regardless of their real-world prowess.
"Since the difficulty isn't very high, why don't we turn this into a contest? My sisters and I will be one team, while Mo Mo and Xiao Yue form another. We’ll see who can penetrate the demon castle first," Su Xiu’er proposed.
"Two against three? That hardly seems fair," Chu Mo argued.
Su Xiu’er chuckled. "It’s actually quite balanced. Jin’er and I are inseparable, so we count as one powerhouse unit. Xiao Yue is a martial arts genius; even with normalized stats, his combat instincts give him a massive edge. And since Mo Mo is more skilled than Jiaojiao, she’ll be the third factor. This way, the strengths are perfectly distributed."
"I see your point. Let's do it," Chu Mo agreed. It was merely a friendly game; the outcome mattered less than the enjoyment of the process.
With the teams set, the five of them invaded the demon territory from opposite flanks.
Perhaps driven by the immense pressure she was under, Chu Mo fought with a reckless abandon once the game started. She charged forward without any regard for tactics or self-preservation, seemingly using the digital monsters as a vent for her inner frustration and bitterness.
Wang Yue was forced into the role of a "bodyguard," clearing path for Chu Mo while keeping her safe from harm. Luckily, his superior reflexes provided a significant advantage, allowing the pair to reach the heart of the territory and the castle gates first.
Even though it was just a simulation where death carried no real consequence, Wang Yue’s constant protection deeply moved Chu Mo.
Despite being born into a family with a prestigious martial arts lineage, Chu Mo’s mother had been physically frail since birth and unable to practice. Despite her beauty, she was viewed as nothing more than a bargaining chip for political marriages.
Her father was equally cold; he kept numerous mistresses within the household and even more outside. He had sired a multitude of illegitimate children, leaving the "legitimate" daughter feeling forgotten at home. Like her mother, she was merely seen as a tool for a strategic union.
Consequently, she had never known familial warmth outside of her mother's love. It was only due to her naturally resilient spirit that she managed to build her own business; otherwise, her circumstances would have been dire.
Yet, even the most independent woman yearns for someone to protect and care for her. Because she had been starved of such affection, Wang Yue's simple attentiveness felt incredibly precious.
The previous day, she had teased the Su sisters about Wang Yue being handsome and pure-hearted, but now, she found herself genuinely feeling a spark of attraction toward him.
It was a tragic realization, however. He was still just a boy and already had a fiancée, and she herself was trapped by her family's arrangements. Their paths were never meant to converge.
A heavy sigh escaped Chu Mo’s heart as these thoughts surfaced.
The Su sisters arrived shortly after, and the conclusion of the game was inevitable.
When they stepped out of the virtual pods, Su Jin-er and Su Xiu-er noticed that Chu Mo’s mood hadn't improved; if anything, she looked more despondent than before. They shot a questioning look at Wang Yue, asking him what had happened.
Wang Yue could only shrug in confusion. While he was highly skilled in certain intimate matters, he was completely lost when it came to the nuances of romance.
In the bedroom, he knew exactly how to play with a woman’s senses—adjusting his rhythm and intensity to lead her to a perfect peak. But in the mundane world, he had no idea how to cheer a woman up or navigate the complexities of her thoughts.
Seeing that Wang Yue was clueless, Su Jin-er and Su Xiu-er decided to keep observing and suggested a different game.
This new game was a team-based combat arena, reminiscent of the ancient "League of Legends."
With exactly five of them, they opted for a five-versus-five match against other players.
Wang Yue maintained his role as the "considerate gentleman." Playing a support character, he dedicated himself to assisting the four women, a gesture that touched everyone’s hearts.
After all, women are best at reading one another. By the end of the match, while the carefree Su Jiao-jiao was simply happy to have won, Su Jin-er and Su Xiu-er finally understood why Chu Mo’s melancholy had only deepened.
