Urban Seduction: Housewives Club Chapter 1833 - 162: The Peerless Black Widow 4

Wang Yue confronts Yu Yan regarding his feelings for Li Yingying, but the mysterious woman dismisses the possibility of a romance and warns him to keep their conversation a secret. While Wang Yue waits at the restaurant, Li Yingying struggles to focus on her studies as she remains consumed by thoughts of their intimate encounter on the bus. When they finally meet again, their awkward tension is interrupted by Yu Yan, who reveals her identity as a powerful martial artist. Seeking to harness Li Yingying’s rare character and independence, Yu Yan offers to take the young woman as her disciple and train her to become a top-tier warrior.

"But surely there are many girls like that?" Li Yingying remarked.

"Based on how people act, there are certainly plenty. But do you honestly believe they don't desire those things?" Yu Yan asked with a look of contempt.

"The only difference is they lack the physical advantages you possess. Throughout the years, I have encountered numerous girls with decent morals and stunning looks, yet every single one eventually succumbed to the lure of wealth and status, losing themselves in the end. You, however, have not. Had you wished for it, a single 'yes' to Liu Sheng would have guaranteed a life of absolute luxury for you and your entire family."

In this current age, life is vastly different from centuries ago. Even though the Warriors’ Alliance maintains order, the relentless threat of monstrous beasts places a crushing weight on human survival.

Consequently, society has become far more pragmatic. Selling one's soul or bowing to the influence of money and power has become the standard path to a comfortable life. Such actions no longer face legal penalties or even moral disapproval.

Because of this climate, individuals like Li Yingying are exceptionally rare. It was this specific trait that Yu Yan admired, prompting her decision to pass down her legacy to the girl.

Once she realized Yu Yan wasn't teasing her, Li Yingying was so overwhelmed with joy she nearly fainted. She eagerly asked, "What is the next step? Should I kowtow and formally become your disciple?"

"There is no need to rush into that ceremony just yet," Yu Yan replied, a soft smile playing on her lips.

"First, I must reveal my true identity to you. Once you hear it, you must guard this secret with your life—never speak of it to anyone but me. If you do, both you and whoever hears it will be in mortal danger."

Startled, Li Yingying quickly waved her hands. "In that case, perhaps it is better if I don't know."

Yu Yan let out a sigh. "If I keep you in the dark, how will you know what threats to avoid? Listen closely: Yu Yan is merely a pseudonym. My birth name is Yu Suxin, and in the martial arts world, I am known by the nickname 'Black Widow'."

"Black Widow?" Li Yingying looked bewildered. "How could such a gorgeous woman have such a sinister name?"

"Are you wondering why I am called that?" Yu Suxin asked. Seeing Li Yingying nod, she continued, "It is because on the day of my wedding, I slaughtered my husband and his entire family."

"What?!" Li Yingying was genuinely horrified. Could this gentle, kind-hearted boss truly be so bloodthirsty?

Still unable to believe it, she whispered, "There must have been a reason, right?"

"There was. I acted because they murdered my family first," Yu Suxin clarified. "I originated from a Sect known as Xuan Su Men, a sacred place within the martial arts world. Do you understand what a sacred place is?"

Confused, Li Yingying shook her head.

Yu Suxin wasn't surprised. Since Li Yingying was just a commoner, it was natural she wouldn't grasp such concepts. She tried a different approach: "You are aware of the Warriors’ Alliance, aren't you?"

"Yes, they are the organization that manages all martial artists across the globe," Li Yingying answered.

"Silly girl, that is only the surface story. The Warriors’ Alliance doesn't actually control every martial artist.

There are forces far more potent than them—the sacred places of the martial arts world," Yu Suxin explained.

"They are that powerful?!" Li Yingying gasped in shock.

"Indeed. Otherwise, they wouldn't earn the title of sacred places," Yu Suxin noted. "Compared to them, groups like the Three Great Families of Jinling are completely insignificant."

By explaining this, Yu Suxin hoped Li Yingying would recognize the weight of her lineage and realize that local powers like the Three Great Families weren't even worth her concern.

However, Li Yingying’s thoughts were elsewhere: If I become a disciple of such a powerful sacred place, does that mean I can support Wang Yue in the future?

"In the past, my father served as an Elder of the Sect. My enemies also belonged to the Xuan Su Sect and shared a close bond with my family," Yu Suxin went on. "When I turned twenty, my parents were suddenly assassinated. Lost and devastated, that family approached me, promising to find the killer and suggesting I marry their son. I knew him already; his character was foul, and I had no affection for him. But consumed by a desire for vengeance, I accepted. On our wedding day, however, I stumbled upon the truth: it was that very family who had murdered my parents."

Li Yingying asked in disbelief, "If your families were so close, why would they kill them?"

"Do you truly think everyone in the martial arts world is a transcendent being?" Yu Suxin asked coldly.

"Hardly. The schemes and betrayals there are just as filthy as in the secular world. They killed my parents to steal a rare spiritual fruit capable of skyrocketing one's martial arts prowess. After uncovering their crime, I proceeded with the wedding, but I struck during the ceremony, killing all three of them. Because of that, I became a fugitive, hunted by the Xuan Su Sect."

"But why didn't you just explain the truth to the Sect?" Li Yingying questioned.

"With my parents gone, I was nothing more than a rootless weed in the Xuan Su Sect—who would bother listening to me? Furthermore, my talent was the greatest of my generation. Staying meant I would be an obstacle to the children of powerful figures. They would have used any excuse to eliminate me," Yu Suxin said with a calm voice.

"For decades, I have drifted from city to city every few years—partly to evade my pursuers and partly to find a worthy successor for my arts. Do you understand why I’ve shared this with you now?"

"I think so," Li Yingying nodded. "It’s a warning to be cautious and to avoid flaunting my martial arts in public."

"Precisely," Yu Suxin agreed.

"However, you don't need to live in constant fear. The Xuan Su Sect is named after its two core techniques: the Xuan Tian Gong and the Su Nu Gong. While anyone can practice Xuan Tian Gong, almost no one can master the Su Nu Gong. In my era, I was the sole practitioner. Even if you use it, nobody will recognize the technique."

"If it's that hard to learn... am I capable of it?" Li Yingying asked, her confidence wavering.

"You are. After decades of refinement, I have modified the technique so anyone can practice it," Yu Suxin assured her. "Now that everything is out in the open, let us finalize our bond as Master and apprentice!"

...

Meanwhile, Wang Yue wandered aimlessly for a bit after leaving the restaurant. Realizing the Golden City Adventurers Association was nearby, he decided to drop in on his aunt and the others to inquire about maritime expeditions.

Wang Yue drove directly to the Association headquarters.

Even though his aunt held the reins, it was a formal institution, and he had to respect the protocol.

After being vetted by the lobby staff and receiving Su Mengqing’s approval, Wang Yue ascended to the top floor and entered her private office.

Su Mengqing wasn't alone; Hong Ling and the other three were present as well. A large table sat in the center of the room, laden with dishes—it was clear they were just about to sit down for a meal.
