Titan King: Ascension of the Giant Chapter 1413 God-Devouring Larvae

Previously on Titan King: Ascension of the Giant...
Kronos guided Princess Lola through the bustling streets of Blackstone City, drawing on his army-honed knowledge to lead her toward the finest food and vistas amid the festival's energy. A mercenary band under Commander Godfrey—comprising Bloodear the Gnoll, Stoutgut the Dwarf, and Brundar the Giant—arrived via teleportation, eager for rest and intel on elusive Bagbirds to fulfill their contract and bolster supplies. High in Moonshadow Valley, Lorelia the Spider Queen lounged in her lair, accepting a massive insect gift from the Thunderhawk Rayden, whom she cautioned against venturing beyond borders despite their master's demigod status. As night descended, dragons from the Horde Hall ignited the central bonfire, sparking aerial displays that stirred Thundar and Dace to unleash their own summoned beasts into the fiery sky.

Soon after, Earthshaker, Ursa, and the rest set free their bound beasts.

In under fifteen minutes, the skies buzzed with scores of dragon-like shapes, plunging and whirling after the massive frontrunner. The display thrilled the Stoneheart Horde like a banquet, while the dragonkin reveled in their own majestic parade.

Upon the outer walls of the Horde Hall, a special seating area awaited the honored visitors: Princess Delphine, Ariselle, and Elyndar.

"Auntie Princess, Brother Prince, look! Real dragons! So many of them!"

Ariselle stared skyward, her gaze mirroring a vision she'd cherish forever. She wasn't the only one; every resident and visitor in Blackstone City stood mesmerized just like her.

"In certain worlds, dragons symbolize supreme power—creatures of dread and splendor."

In a secluded spot within the city, the bard Cloudsong scribbled rapidly with his brush on an easel, sketching the grand event before inscribing graceful words along the edge.

"Now," he pondered, "what name suits the epic of the Giant King? And this... the Feast of Dragons."

On the distant edge of Blackstone City, clustered near a blazing fire in the open square, the Bloodfire Mercenaries remained hushed in awe. The sizzling meat and premium spirits they held went untouched as flocks of dragons soared above.

"It's real... by the gods, the whispers were spot on!" Brundar, the hulking giant, kept murmuring, appearing utterly spellbound.

"Have the dragons actually joined forces with the Stoneheart Horde?" Bloodear, the gnoll, scratched his head in confusion. From what he knew, dragons hid away as solitary beings in the southern islands.

"Hah! This view shines as brightly as fumes from a expert smithy!" Stoutgut the dwarf chuckled, gulping ale with wild ease.

"Dragons... Dragon Riders..."

For Godfrey the knight, the scene tugged at emotions the others couldn't quite grasp.

"It... it is unbelievable."

In the square before the Horde Hall, Garrett, Lambert, Klythia, and the others—invited as Ava's companions—gathered by their own flames. As fellow knights, they mirrored Godfrey's wonder. The tremors shaking their souls hit just as hard.

"Do you think," Klythia, the heavy-shield carrier, murmured, "that someday, we could also..."

She glanced at her enormous shield; amid dragons, it felt pathetically small. With Ava and Kronos heading back to the Stoneheart Horde, they had essentially pledged to the group too. As family now, maybe such dreams weren't out of reach.

Hope, desire, and blatant jealousy gleamed in their stares.

"Kronos, look! Yours is over there!"

From a western spire—the prime overlook Kronos had scouted over his time in Blackstone City—Lola jabbed toward the heavens. To one side stretched the crowded Horde Hall; to the other, the lively heart of the fire celebration.

The Twelfth Princess quickly picked out Kronos's dragon.

"By the way," Kronos interrupted the thrill with a query that drew a theatrical eye-roll, "you're of draconic blood too. Do Sea-Drakes have wings?"

"Hmph. I'm not telling you!"

East of the city, along the mountain walls.

Lorelia attended, but she didn't strain her neck like the crowd. Rather, she reclined on a huge, bed-shaped shell draped in her preferred silks and pelts. To her, the flying dragons resembled a wandering performance group at best.

"You see that? If you were slightly tougher, if you could unleash a real cry, those reptiles wouldn't snub you."

Lorelia flicked a look at Rayden, the thunderhawk, quivering at her side. She sighed, let down.

Once, the airspace over Blackstone City was Rayden's territory. These days, the thunderhawk got pushed to the edges. The beings aloft weren't mere mythical creatures; plenty ranked as Alpha-tier dragon beasts. Even one alone could match or outstrip Rayden's strength.

This held especially for the rides of the heirs—Caelus, Kronos, Pallas, Elara, and Rolan. Their dragons boasted purer lineages and, aware of their riders' rank, dismissed Rayden entirely.

In short, the skies over the Stoneheart Horde no longer bowed to Rayden.

Unknown Space, Unknown Realm.

As the Stoneheart Horde partied, dark forms assembled in a hazy, vague plane. Over a dozen misty silhouettes of diverse forms met to plot their moves.

"The spread of the world laws nears its end," one being croaked. "Yet, the native bugs in that realm prove far too frail. Lacking our aid, they can't spark a true surge."

"I suggest we launch the Wormholes Protocol."

The voice belonged to a ghostly shape that looked part-human, part-bug, pushing forward the merging of realms.

"I back Xirun's idea."

"The bugs in the rival realm starve for survival goods," another shade noted. "They require shattered spaces. Only that will let them shatter barriers, gather strength, and earn their place as our followers."

The one speaking had probed the Titanion Realm via their grip on nearby hive minds. The big forces there crushed insectoids without mercy. Without action, their troops would arrive without any turf edge.

"I support using Wormholes, though I advise a phased rollout."

"For the opening assault, five to ten Wormholes should do. If outcomes look good and don't draw too much notice from their Demigods, we'll send further ones."

These Wormholes acted as broken mini-realms packed with huge lands and plentiful supplies perfect for bug expansion—nests built by the Void Insectoids from their own forms as models.

"On top of that, I recommend planting these Wormholes with a group of Larvae. Let them treat the Wormholes as footholds to kick off the invasion's opening act."

These Larvae came from the God-Devouring breed, armed with a full growth chain and route. With ample fuel, they could climb level by level to forms beyond Legend rank.

If these Larvae slipped into the Titanion Realm before the bulk of their army, it would grant a huge boost in the upcoming clash of worlds.

"I endorse Shakkor's plan. Placing Larvae acts as both attack and survey."

"Even if my reports show that world short on top Demigods, dispatching Larvae for scouting makes wise sense."

"Should the Larvae spot oddities, we pull back fast and cut the link between the realms."

"Exactly. Info from our own is the sole reliable truth."
