THE VILLAIN'S POV Chapter 770 The Day the Gods Bled (2)
Previously on THE VILLAIN'S POV...
In mere moments, Agaroth unleashed six or seven abilities that shattered world boundaries as though they were trivial.
This happened even as the enormous mouths encircling the battlefield kept up their unyielding assault.
"I don't get it," Agaroth bellowed.
"Didn't you arrive here today planning to end my life?!"
BOOOOOOM!!
Agaroth cracked the earth under his feet, stretching his shadow outward.
This was the King's Shadow.
Yet he pressed on without pause.
Black flames erupted from the shadow, boosting its might many times over.
Fiery shadows surged up from the ground like lances crafted to skewer any who opposed the Demon King.
With seamless skill, Agaroth merged those world-shattering abilities.
Despite their supreme might, shielding against Agaroth's onslaughts turned into sheer torment for the Great Ones.
"Who do you think stands before you now?"
BOOOOOOM!!
Agaroth demolished yet another Great One, ripping through him without effort as he pushed ahead.
"If that's your best effort...
then why bother showing up?"
"Do you crave death so desperately?!
Speak up, Great Ones!!"
His thunderous cry rattled the realm like a massive quake...
In reply, a gigantic beam of light plunged from above, crashing right onto him.
The attacker gleamed like a scorching star.
A Great One from the Light Bearers.
"Demon King," the entity declared,
"you rank among the Great Ones, equal to us. But you defy His command. We're not chasing death—it's you, for challenging Him."
As the Light Bearer's devastating strike poured down...
The surviving Great Ones unleashed their utmost strength all at once, forcing Agaroth far underground with the immense force.
They hemmed him in from every direction, striking without mercy—now that they'd handled those horrifying mouths Agaroth had summoned before.
The Light Bearer's energy clashed directly with demonic essence, its impact much like the Light Soul...
a power that could deal grievous wounds to the Demon King.
Joined by the barrages from the other Great Ones, the onslaught proved total.
Still, beneath that overwhelming force...
The Demon King strode onward steadily, passing right through the light column and taking it full force.
"His command?" Agaroth sneered.
"Spare me the joke."
A veil of shadow wrapped his form as he moved, the terrain below him bursting apart completely.
Seeing his defiance, the Great Ones ramped up their assaults... but to no avail.
Agaroth kept closing in on them, one deliberate step at a time.
"You're mere servants...
servants to a vile existence that desperately hangs on in the most wretched manner."
Amid the fusing light beams from the Great Ones' joint fury, Agaroth's frame warped as he called forth a surging wave of might.
The Demon King's mocking laugh filled the Great Ones with dread...
beings who couldn't grasp how this beast kept advancing under their collective barrage.
"You claimed before that I'm a Great One like you," Agaroth went on, his tone icy and mocking.
"So explain...
does that mean you see us as equals?"
Agaroth balled his hand into a fist, then lunged forth... smashing the light pillar apart.
"Then let's reveal the truth!"
BOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
Right before the remaining Great Ones, Agaroth stabbed straight through the Light Bearer Great One's form, erasing him with one devastating blow.
Then, in a blur of motion, he darted at breakneck pace... wiping them out sequentially.
"If this is your limit, then your doom approaches!!"
Blasts erupted in endless chain as shadows and infernos consumed all in sight.
The Great Ones charged at Agaroth in waves... but the Demon King crushed them individually.
"Today... you'll grasp the essence of true fear."
Agaroth moved like a specter...
undetectable, invisible, impervious to any guard.
Whatever they threw his way, no matter their tactics...
nothing halted his rampage.
His form defied nature.
Even light hostile to demons left him unscathed.
This Demon King had climbed to the utmost height of his prowess...
the pinnacle attained long ago after clashing with Nameless.
Such was this Agaroth—his power beyond quantification...
beyond the bounds of reason.
As Agaroth cut them down relentlessly, he paused at last when one managed to repel him.
It was a Great One whose build mirrored Agaroth's...
dull gray skin encased in bizarre, alien armor.
"Haha! You stopped my attack?" Agaroth chuckled.
"That resilience... you're a Pantheon Great One, right?"
Agaroth rushed him without delay... and the Great One met the charge head-on.
They traded strikes at dizzying velocity, each impact unleashing ruinous blasts.
Every clash unleashed vast waves of devastation that wiped out all nearby...
and without Izalith's blood barriers, Helmond would have been utterly razed.
The Pantheon Great One held firm with all his strength against Agaroth.
But for all his resilience and raw force...
Agaroth started to dominate, bit by bit.
During the frenzy, the Pantheon Great One's blows landed on Agaroth's frame multiple times...
yet it never felt like striking a living entity.
"I don't get it..." the Pantheon Great One whispered, baffled.
"What am I even hitting with my fists?"
While he pondered, Agaroth ramped up his assault, pounding him without pity.
Cracks spread across the Pantheon Great One's ultra-tough body...
and fear crept into his core.
It didn't feel like pounding meat and bone.
Rather, each hit plunged into an endless void.
A chilling insight hit him...
Is this the Demon King? The devourer of all?
Dazed by horror and wonder, the Pantheon Great One didn't notice Agaroth had already obliterated him entirely, sparing only his head.
Seizing that head, Agaroth squeezed tight...
and pulverized it to dust.
"You never grasped it, Great Ones," Agaroth said icily,
"you who boast of ruling supreme."
He advanced over piles of remains, flames, and gore.
"I warned you earlier...
you're just thralls to that loathsome force. Beings shaped by it, tricked into thinking you're the height of creation."
Agaroth's form blazed with intensifying, unstoppable energy as he lunged once more.
"Your might might crown you in this world...
but against me, you're empty shells, worthless and purposeless...
devoid of choice, devoid of purpose."
The massacre by Agaroth raged on.
It was a horror...
a total, uneven wipeout.
No contest here.
Pure extermination.
In the midst of the chaos, Agaroth started yelling.
"ODIN!!!!!"
The Demon King summoned the overlord of the Great Ones while ripping through more.
"I sense you're observing! Emerge and confront me!"
He bellowed while dispatching the Great Ones with casual might.
"Your worthless minions can't touch me!
Send as many as you like... it'll end the same!"
BOOOOOOM!!!
Bursts kept thundering as the disaster unfolded.
"Reveal yourself!!
Battle me!!"
Agaroth drove forward, hailing the repulsive presence that had lurked in the shadows all along.
The Great Ones fell pathetically to the Demon King...
their defeat loomed close.
From the start, the Great Ones had invaded Helmond for one clear aim...
and to fulfill it, they had to contain the Demon King.
But they'd committed a deadly error.
They had misjudged him.
They had lowballed Agaroth, the Demon King... whose strength dwarfed their wildest guesses... nearly wiping them out.
No one foresaw the Great Ones crumbling so fast.
And due to this shocking turn...
An unforeseen event unfolded.
Agaroth kept butchering the Great Ones—
until he froze, detecting a shift.
Amid streams of blood and roaring blazes, Agaroth gradually lifted his eyes to the heavens.
Up there, a murky cloud of strange energy started gathering...
an energy no one had ever sensed till now.
That energy rippled through every being in Helmond, compelling them to look up at the odd sight.
The Demon King had exceeded all predictions.
Therefore—his involvement was inevitable.
Helmond's blood-red skies shifted.
In a strange, baffling way, they bleached to a brilliant, spotless white.
The entire realm quaked, steeling for his coming.
As for Agaroth...
A fearsome grin lit his features, joy gleaming in his gaze.
"At last."
From that ghostly white haze, eyes flared with golden light,
heralding the resurgence of a forgotten calamity from ages past.
