THE VILLAIN'S POV Chapter 769 The Day the Gods Bled (1)
Previously on THE VILLAIN'S POV...
Invasion of Helmond…
An invasion gripped Helmond.
This marked a historic first .. an event unprecedented in the annals of time.
Throughout all recorded history, demons had always been the aggressors invading other species.
The reverse had never occurred.
From the beginning of existence, no force had ever dared assault the demons on their home turf .. and the cause was straightforward.
Their might was immense.
Frighteningly immense.
Even their accursed ruler held a power level that no one else in existence could rival.
However, on this day—for the very first time—that unbreakable tradition shattered.
The crimson heavens over Helmond faded away past the far-off skyline, utterly overshadowed as the Great Ones charged ahead with ferocious drive toward the Tower of the End.
The Great Ones weren't ordinary creatures.
Every one of them bore a shape completely unlike the rest .. resembling otherworldly horrors pulled from a different dimension.
Still, their hideous looks weren't the source of dread.
What truly instilled terror was the immense force radiating from each.
A force paired with bellows and shrieks that rang out like apocalyptic trumpets signaling doom.
The Great Witch Izalith soared next to the Tower of the End, her features twisted in horror.
Simultaneously, the Eighth-Rank Upper Demon Yosefka appeared too, rallying the protective forces.
Her face showed the same dread as Izalith's.
Their foes defied all logic.
At least fifty Great Ones pressed onward in unison.
"Every single one… SSS-tier advanced entities," Izalith declared, her tone quivering.
As one of the Ten Upper Demons, she lacked assurance in battling even a solitary one of those horrors.
Fifty was unimaginable.
Regardless of their analysis .. this spelled total disaster.
But the Great Ones' relentless advance, along with the panic seizing the demons…
Everything halted for an instant.
For every being in Helmond caught the sound of his voice.
The Demon King's voice.
He laughed.
Laughed with wild abandon.
A vicious cackle that resounded across the realm.
Right before Izalith's gaze .. and that of all demons there ..
Agaroth ascended gradually into the air, placing himself solo at the forefront, squarely confronting the horde of Great Ones bearing down on him.
The Demon King inspired awe.
Dark energy cloaked his frame, his ebony locks lashing wildly about.
His scarlet gaze burned fiercely, as if peering past the world's very limits.
Even with his grandeur, he seemed tiny against that legion of Great Ones.
Akin to a lone shadow defying a colossal wave that devoured the firmament.
Nevertheless ..
The Demon King seemed at ease.
No—he seemed delighted.
"How much time has elapsed… how many ages since I sensed this thrill?"
Gradually, Agaroth extended his arms broadly toward the Great Ones.
"Murderous intent aimed at me from all angles.
The clamor of conflict proclaimed against my being.
Beasts bold enough to confront me directly."
His grin stretched further .. morphing into a ghastly sneer.
The Great Ones had closed in, having razed all obstacles in their route and slain innumerable demons en route.
The initial confrontation loomed.
It seemed the whole heavens might crash down upon Agaroth.
The Demon King focused his scarlet eyes, scanning each adversary ahead.
In his rear ..
The Tower of the End remained upright, surrounded by the finest warriors of demonkind.
Izalith and Yosefka dared not stir.
The Demon King prepared to engage in person.
They knew Agaroth's true nature more than anyone.
No matter the grim outlook.
No matter the horrifying view.
The collective dread from all the Great Ones…
Failed to exceed the dread of the Demon King mirrored in their stares.
A lone figure stood firm, stopping a vast throng of unfathomable entities.
And then ..
The disaster ignited.
In under one second, Agaroth unleashed his total aura.
The unyielding strength of a beast untouched by loss.
His aura's force was total.
Smothering.
Domineering.
Reality cracked around him, the energy bursting out in every direction until it covered all of Helmond.
At that moment ..
All demons plummeted from the air.
They slammed into the earth, driven to kneel—not willingly, but irresistibly.
The Demon King's sheer dominance felled them all.
Even Izalith and Yosefka fought hard just to stay upright in his wake.
The Great Ones withstood his aura .. and kept pushing forward.
But as those horrors neared him—
An unthinkable event unfolded.
The Demon King's form burst apart.
It fragmented explosively ..
And from inside him…
Burst forth hundreds—nay, thousands—of enormous maws.
Hideous, twisting, shadowy horrors of vast proportions.
Those monstrosities spilled from the Demon King, slamming into the Great Ones without hesitation or pity.
The entities that had darkened the skies with their huge shapes got fully encircled in under a second by the shadowy horde.
Shadows swallowed Helmond.
And the conflict erupted.
The Great Ones battled those ebony horrors, destroying each other in a savage and nightmarish frenzy.
A fight defying understanding ..
defying reason entirely.
What Agaroth had released was among his numerous powers: an ability to reshape his body freely, molding it against whatever foe he met.
Through this, in under one second, he overpowered the Great Ones—creatures who appeared unbeatable only moments earlier.
In the turmoil, Agaroth's true shape reformed amidst the Great Ones, who remained entangled with the myriad dark maws.
Positioned among them, Agaroth bellowed—his cry booming like a storm.
"Approach me!
Every last one!!"
His right fist blazed with furious, inky fires, as his left palm shimmered with thick, corrupt dark energy.
Releasing his immense might, Agaroth smashed into one Great One, landing a direct hit ..
and the deafening strike obliterated half the Great One's form from reality.
Agaroth wielded his aura with horrifying velocity.
In an instant, countless dark maws surged at the Great Ones, firing focused aura strikes as deadly rays that stabbed through them from all angles.
Myriad columns of shadow exploded at once, boxing them in completely.
In just seconds, the Great Ones found themselves fully trapped.
The Demon King's ruinous reach was devastating .. petrifying.
That one onslaught could eradicate a whole society.
Grasping the dire peril ..
The Great Witch Izalith rushed forth at once, unleashing her complete strength and merging it with her Blood Soul.
Drawing on all her reserves, a massive wave of blood gushed from Izalith's form, flooding out to cover the arena where Agaroth battled the Great Ones.
As soon as her blood enclosed them, Izalith commanded it—forcing it skyward, erecting enormous scarlet barriers that soared so tall they breached the clouds.
In seconds, Izalith managed to seal off the ruinous effects entirely, protecting both the demons and Helmond through her might.
Breathing heavily, the Blood Witch barely held her stance.
Should the Demon King battle unrestrained ..
Helmond might perish as unintended ruin.
Knowing that horrifying fact, Izalith wished fervently for a quick resolution to the fight.
Yet Agaroth ignored her pleas.
And those of every demon.
For nothing mattered to him now ..
Except the clash raging in his sight.
The Demon King darted like lightning, leaping from one Great One to the next.
His attacks were ridiculously swift and ruinously strong ..
every impact hurling Great Ones away the instant it landed.
