THE VILLAIN'S POV Chapter 750: Chrono Guillotine
Previously on THE VILLAIN'S POV...
"I’ve got you at last!"
In a split second—right in the middle of those crushing strikes—Amon's gaze bulged wide when his arm stopped dead in the air, gripped tightly by Gehrman's iron-like grasp.
"He managed to grab my arm even at the velocity of my attack?"
Amon felt real astonishment, but he failed to see what advantage Gehrman could possibly get from holding him back.
Because, with the huge gap in their bodily might, Amon knew he could break loose in just one moment.
The demon remained unaware that this short touch served only as the trigger needed to trigger a particular skill.
Amon grasped the truth only after it was far too late... right when the horrifying surge of aura burst forth from Gehrman's frame.
Gehrman's gaze ignited with a fierce azure glow while his aura swelled outward, fully surrounding Amon.
"Chrono Guillotine."
At last, Gehrman revealed the reality-shattering skill he had hidden away up to this point.
Chrono Guillotine... an overwhelming force that made Gehrman's aura burst wildly in every direction, and then, in under one second...
All of it gathered tightly around Amon, who unleashed his maximum strength to try shielding himself.
Amon sensed that the impending event would be far from ordinary. He stopped holding back and entered total focus.
His outburst of complete power caused both Abraham and Gehrman to draw back a bit, understanding now that their foe had merely been messing with them all along.
Nevertheless, the moment had already passed.
With the skill now triggered, Amon had zero way to counter it.
"You can try to resist it however you like... but it’s useless. Even the Demon King himself couldn’t stop it once it was activated."
In those brief instants, matching Gehrman's declaration...
Amon experienced a wave of confusion.
The very fabric of reality started shaking near him, and a peculiar noise rang next to his ear.
The sound of clock hands ticking—beating steadily, then dragging slower and slower... until they stopped dead.
Simultaneously, Gehrman's energy fully covered Amon, forming a round band above the demon's torso.
A band resembling a clock... with its pointers stuck motionless.
The second that transpired, an unbelievable event unfolded.
Amon stood utterly still, his whole form shifting to gray...
Gray amid a realm bursting with hues.
"He... froze?" Abraham whispered in disbelief at the scene before him.
In the meantime, Gehrman dropped to the earth as his body fractured more and more, fighting to regain his breath.
"Chrono Guillotine... hooof."
Gehrman breathed out heavily while pushing himself upright again.
"This ability allows me to interfere with the concept of time on a single chosen target. Those affected are trapped inside a sealed void where time does not exist."
"In other words, I can completely freeze them in reality—though the duration of that freeze differs from one individual to another."
"Ordinary people can remain frozen like this forever, without ever breaking free. As for the powerful... they can escape after a certain amount of time."
"That damned Demon King was the fastest to break free .. his case lasted only ten seconds."
Gehrman explained as he gathered the final bits of energy still within him.
"I’m not at full power... the freeze won’t last long."
"So hurry—attack him with everything you’ve got!" Gehrman yelled while his fist ignited with a massive surge of frost aura.
"The strength of this ability lies in the opportunity it gives us .. to attack him while he cannot defend himself!"
"With this limited time, we must inflict as much damage as possible!"
Upon hearing that, Abraham paused in awe at Gehrman's battle prowess.
"He can freeze time for a single target of his choosing just by making contact... rendering the opponent completely unable to move."
"The minimum duration of this ability is ten seconds—since Agaroth is likely the strongest entity in this world, and no one can break free faster than him."
"In other words... anyone struck by this ability is removed from the physical world—where time flows normally—for at least ten full seconds!"
"This allows Gehrman to deal catastrophic damage to his opponent without any chance of retaliation or defense."
"And even if he chooses not to attack—he could simply escape while his enemy remains frozen."
A horrifying... flawless skill.
Chrono Guillotine.
Ruler’s Hand.
Only at this point did Abraham fully comprehend the immense dread of the Engineer... Saint Gehrman, the unchallenged top figure in the Shadow Sect.
"...Incredible," Abraham whispered softly.
Afterward, he refocused his mind... no more time for wonder.
Pulling together the ultimate remnants of his strength, Abraham channeled it all into his blade, even pausing the healing of his ruined arms and legs.
"Stardust: Abraham Starlight Style—Star of Purification!"
Abraham released the ultimate attack move from his whole collection...
As Gehrman hammered away with the highest level of his frost aura.
All their efforts targeted Amon’s immobilized figure.
BOOOOOOM!!!
The joint barrage tore a huge rift in space, slamming down with dreadful might onto Amon’s defenseless shape.
"Keep attacking!"
Following Gehrman's order, he and Abraham kept up their ruthless barrage without holding back.
Amon got hurled wildly by the raw force of the strikes—his mask broke apart entirely, and his form took devastating injuries.
Gehrman and Abraham offered no pity, pouring out all their power nonstop.
Thus, the moments ticked away—one by one—flying past in a savage haze under the unending storm of blows they delivered.
At long last... precisely thirty-nine seconds later...
The clock split open.
Amon's freedom had come.
Noticing that, Gehrman and Abraham landed their ultimate hit, hurling him away until he smashed into a nearby mountain and slumped there in a pitiful pile.
In another spot, Gehrman and Abraham remained, gasping for air, completely drained from unleashing all in that barrage.
Chrono Guillotine finally broke apart, and time began moving again in Amon’s body... yet the demon stayed down, showing no hint of stirring.
Seeing that, Abraham plunged his sword into the dirt, leaning on it to stay on his feet.
"To be honest... I didn’t think we had any chance against that monster," Abraham admitted frankly.
"But after all that... he shouldn’t be getting back up, right?"
Even the strongest entities would endure terrible wounds from withstanding such a prolonged, united attack.
His logic held firm.
But Gehrman appeared far from certain.
"Don’t lower your guard until the very end."
The instant Gehrman cautioned Abraham...
Suddenly, both sensed something gravely amiss.
And their gut feelings proved right.
The demon materialized abruptly between them, grinning.
"Indeed... underestimating me is not a wise decision."
Gehrman and Abraham spun around in alarm... but Amon left them no opening.
He lashed out right away, knocking both airborne with mere two hits.
Finally standing there, Amon stood completely exposed.
