With Xingtong providing support, the task of chasing down and finishing off those two ordinary Spirit God Clan members became significantly easier for Yang Chen.
Brandishing the God-slaying Spear, Yang Chen unleashed his Law, his form blurring as he moved to strike one of them down permanently.
Had these Spirit God Clan members possessed any lingering fighting spirit or mounted a desperate defense, they might have endured a while longer.
After all, Yang Chen had already exhausted quite a bit of his energy utilizing the Way of Ten Thousand Laws and the Slaughter God Spear.
He was certainly past his peak performance at that moment.
However, since these Spirit God Clan members were terrified and prioritized flight over combat, dispatching them proved to be a far simpler ordeal.
There was only one remaining target, and Yang Chen wasted no time; within moments, he had eliminated the final Spirit God Clan member right where he stood!
Subsequently, Yang Chen observed the struggle between Xingtong and the two remaining Spirit God Clan members from inside his expanded domain.
Had they been outside of his domain, Xingtong would likely have struggled against two Spirit God Clan opponents. Inside, however, the playing field had shifted.
Defeated in spirit, the two Spirit God Clan members were desperate to flee, granting Xingtong the clear advantage.
Watching this, Yang Chen chose not to intervene.
The powerful pride themselves on their dignity. Had they been Royal Spirit Gods, he would have assisted without hesitation, but interfering against ordinary Spirit Gods might have been perceived as a slight against Xingtong’s ability.
Regardless, Xingtong would never have accepted his help in such a scenario.
Instead, Yang Chen simply nudged his domain to encompass a wider area.
The expanded reach of his domain placed a brutal level of suppression upon the two ordinary Spirit God Clan members, leaves them drowning in suffocating pressure.
For Xingtong, the effect was the opposite; her agility was multiplied, allowing her to easily command a massive swarm of insects to overwhelm the two Spirit Gods.
Within the span of a single cup of tea, Xingtong swiftly dispatched both ordinary Spirit Gods. She emerged from the skirmish victorious and returned to Yang Chen with a grin of exhilaration.
To have slain two Spirit Gods in one swift engagement was a feat she hadn’t even dared to imagine previously, yet she had accomplished it with ease. Her delight was evident.
"Haha, Yang Chen, your domain is incredibly convenient. I really must cooperate with you more frequently. With such a domain, if I manage to step into the Heaven-appointed Realm, I feel as though I will be truly invincible within the Forbidden Spirit Palace," Xingtong laughed.
Yang Chen replied with a calm demeanor, "Let’s focus on seeing you reach the Heaven-appointed Realm first. Di Zun has escaped, and we aren't certain if Han Tian was carrying the map. We need to go and search for it immediately."
Xingtong’s expression turned solemn at these words. Although Yang Chen’s strength was formidable and eliminating Han Tian was a massive victory, Di Zun’s escape remained a troubling variable.
The pair returned to the site of Han Tian’s remains, and with a swift motion from Yang Chen, an independent pocket dimension manifested upon the corpse.
With a gentle stroke, Yang Chen breached the barrier, revealing a treasure trove of items.
As he inspected the contents, Yang Chen’s expression grew serious.
Han Tian had been carrying a wealth of resources. While the collection was disorganized, the items were authentic. The Heavenly Materials, Earthly Treasures, and Emperor Divine Tools were all valuable acquisitions.
Yet, the map was nowhere to be seen.
Had their luck finally run dry?
If they missed the map here, the chances of encountering a lone Royal Spirit God in the future were infinitesimal.
Suddenly, Xingtong gestured and exclaimed, "Yang Chen, look!"
Yang Chen followed the direction of her finger, and to his surprise, he spotted a map drifting through the air before them.
Yang Chen caught the map and unfolded it, his eyes scanning the details as his expression brightened with joy.
The document clearly outlined the layout of the Forbidden Spirit Palace—the very thing they had been dreaming of finding!
"Haha, this is undoubtedly the map to the Forbidden Spirit Dao Palace. Surprisingly, even with the might of the Spirit God Race, it appears they only managed to map out half of it!" Xingtong sighed.
Yang Chen nodded, studying the chart with a contemplative look.
A significant portion of the map remained blank, evidently left undrawn. It appeared the Spirit God Race had only successfully explored and charted one half of the Forbidden Spirit Palace during their previous excursion.
The remainder stayed a mystery.
If their first, easiest attempt only yielded half the map, it was logical to assume that a second attempt would yield even less, perhaps only a third of the remaining unknown territory at best.
"Let’s see if the Cloud Bow Palace is identified on this map!" Xingtong urged.
Yang Chen understood that the Cloud Bow Palace was vital to Xingtong; it was the specific location where those in the Heaven-separated Realm could find the resources necessary to ascend to the Heaven-appointed Realm.
After a quick survey, Yang Chen pointed, "Here it is, marked right in the center. That is the Cloud Bow Palace."
Possessing a map was an immense advantage, as the Spirit God Race had meticulously labeled the landmarks.
"That means we are currently situated here, in the Town River Mountain Range!" Yang Chen noted.
Xingtong peered at the map, "We aren't far from the Cloud Bow Palace at all. Haha, coming after this map was the perfect decision. We have a clear path now. Let’s move!"
Seeing Xingtong’s urgency, Yang Chen felt a similar anxiety. Given that Xingtong’s advancement to the Heaven-appointed Realm was intrinsically linked to the evolution of his Way of Ten Thousand Law Dao Embryo, he could not afford to delay.
The two followed the map, exiting the mountain range and setting a direct course for the Cloud Bow Palace.
With the map as their guide, they avoided any detours, and their travel time was slashed. Two days later, they brought their movement to a halt.
Standing still, they both stared at the massive palace looming in the distance.
The structure soared high into the clouds; its sheer scale was breathtaking. Neither of them acted rashly, opting to survey the area first.
A single glance was enough to confirm that the edifice standing before them was indeed the Cloud Bow Palace.
"We found it," Xingtong said, her voice filled with excitement as she cross-referenced the map to be certain.
Yang Chen maintained his composure. "The area around the Cloud Bow Palace is quite sparse. My soul perception only picks up a handful of scattered cultivators."
Xingtong chuckled. "You're being naive if you think everyone has a map. I wouldn't expect a crowd to be gathered here."
"That makes sense. In that case, there is no reason to linger. Let’s head inside,” said Yang Chen.
