The Invincible Full-Moon System Chapter 1755: Power of the Werewolf Hunter (2)

Previously on The Invincible Full-Moon System...
Rex furiously attacked the barrier around April, but Stelios intervened, pulling him away with golden chains. Stelios then engaged Rex in battle, using enchanted pure silver knives to inflict wounds that wouldn't heal and exploiting Rex's acute senses. Despite Stelios's attempts to sever his rage, Rex unleashed a surge of fury, shattering the effects of the Slash of Destiny and declaring the fight's imminent end.

Stelios peered at Rex, a grin playing on his lips, completely unbothered.

Even though Rex had moved with such explosive, sudden speed that it resembled teleporting, he remained calm.

It appeared as though he possessed absolute certainty that nothing Rex attempted could truly injure him.

Turning his side to his opponent, he began to walk away with an intentional lack of haste. He made the grave error of exposing his back to a Werewolf, yet he showed no concern. "For a person who hasn't managed to land a single blow on me, you certainly talk big."

In a battle of this caliber, a perfect chance to strike from the rear was a rare gift.

However, Rex did not seize it.

The Slash of Destiny had severed his fury, and he needed to repair it thoroughly—relying on the Weaver of Madness skill just once wouldn't suffice. Closing his eyes, he triggered the skill over and over, forcing his anger to spiral higher and higher until the thread of his rage became too thick to be cut.

Stelios continued his slow stroll, hands resting behind his back.

He could sense the steady accumulation of power radiating from Rex, but he felt no alarm.

From the beginning, he had no intention of severing Rex’s anger again.

This was to be his final hunt, the very instant of his rebirth, so he desired a performance that was... spectacular.

"But unfortunately—I find myself in a pleasant mood," Stelios remarked, gazing up at the Angel Origin statue with a mix of respect and a hint of nostalgia. "Nothing you utter will provoke me. After all, I have a deep hatred for losing control. Doing so would only make me equal to your species—disgusting, wild, and beneath my station."

The insult was blatant.

Stelios made no effort to mask his contempt; in a fight to the death, there was no room for politeness.

"The First Light fashioned every Angel for a specific role; some were meant to guard heaven, others to assist the needy, among many other tasks. Yet every Angel possesses but a single purpose, even the Archangels," Stelios explained, his wings shivering at the memories flooding his mind. "My purpose was the punishment of the Werewolves."

"A vast amount of time has passed since that purpose was granted to me. Centuries—no, perhaps even longer," he continued, feeling the weight of the years. "I never imagined the day would arrive when I would complete that task permanently, but I am truly content."

Swoosh!

Rex manifested right next to Stelios; the Red Dawn of Kaiser blazed, prepared to strike.

He lashed out with a powerful swipe, intending to shred at least a few of the Angel's wings.

But as his claws neared, they slammed into an invisible wall—the very same protection that had shielded April earlier. Only a handful of races possess the means to cross into the Spirit Realm—and it appeared the Angels' technique allowed them to utilize surplus energy in this manner.

"That counts as a successful attempt, but you'll need to do much better if you wish to actually touch me," Stelios said with a smirk.

Splash!

A massive blade tore through Rex’s midsection, throwing him backward until he crashed into the stone railing. He ripped the knife out and began to circulate his energy. A mix of life and voidal energy spiraled around his legs as he activated the Voidal Moonflow Acceleration.

The moment the energy detonated, Rex was already back in Stelios' face.

Rex lashed out with his claws again, but this time, the force was far heavier.

The impact was so violent that Stelios was knocked several paces to the side.

Before the Angel could recover, Rex struck from a blind spot, slamming his claws against the invisible shield.

Clang!

Though the shield's energy was so refined and concentrated that it was nearly impossible to perceive, it became visible under intense scrutiny. Rex could see it now. His vision caught the faint glimmers of energy being stripped away with every blow he delivered.

Small fragments of power were shaken loose each time he hammered the barrier.

He aimed to maintain the pressure, but Stelios beat his wings, dodging the lunging attack.

Despite the miss, Rex had confirmed that the shield had a breaking point.

<Scanning...>

<Notice: The barrier’s total energy has been converted into numerical values.>

Rex glanced up at Stelios and noticed a status window hovering right above the shield.

The sight caused a grin to spread across his face.

<Energy Points: 999,450 / 1,000,000>

"What is the source of your amusement?" Stelios questioned, lifting his hand.

He conjured a massive portal in the air above, and without warning, hundreds of blades poured out.

Kaboom!!

Rex’s reaction was far more violent than Stelios had anticipated.

His entire frame erupted with a crimson aura so dense it looked like liquid, flowing over him like a heavy cascade. The force of this release blasted away the hundreds of incoming knives, completely neutralizing Stelios’ offensive.

<Notice: The user’s string of anger has been fully repaired and perfectly enhanced.>

<All physical attributes have returned to their peak.>

Kaboom!

Another series of shocks echoed as his aura surged, rising toward the heavens like steam.

A wild, manic laughter escaped him as the Invincible Apparition embraced this new, terrifying level of rage, unlike anything he had ever felt. This time, his fury didn't just grow—it shattered every previous limit, transforming into something truly monstrous.

Consequently, his strength began to rise at an exponential rate.

<Notice: Weaver of Madness skill has been used repeatedly on the user.>

<A segment of the user’s psyche has been altered!>

"Oh... are you bored already? Are we finally getting serious?" Stelios asked, sounding entertained.

Even from his high vantage point behind the safety of his shield, he could feel the heat radiating from Rex was far more potent than it had been moments ago. The intensity of the heat had at least doubled, signifying the most powerful rage Stelios had ever encountered in a werewolf.

"I can't explain what's happening to me," Rex laughed, clawing at his own body as if every inch of skin was crawling. Lines of blood stained his fur as his scratching grew more frantic. "But I have a feeling... I feel like this is going to be my final battle as well!"

Rex suddenly turned his sharp gaze toward Amanir. "Go get that Phoenix Feather, would you?"

"Eh...?" Amanir was stunned, his body locking up as he met Rex’s terrifying, unnatural eyes.

That was not the gaze of the Rex he knew.

"Open those chests. Do it properly, please..." Rex added, his eyes widening with even more madness. "I really don't know why, but everything is infuriating me right now, and I'd rather not end up devouring you."

Clang!

Rex parried a massive blade, but his claws were so powerful they shattered the weapon instead.

"Keep your eyes on me," Stelios commanded, his wings spreading with majestic force. "I am the only one you should focus on..."

"Don't you worry, little Angel. You have my full attention now!"

"Come! Let us make this a spectacular end, Royal Black Prince!"

Crack!

In an instant, Rex launched himself into the sky like a crimson comet, charging directly at the target he desperately wanted to tear apart.

Upon their collision, a blast of pure destruction ripped through the atmosphere, obliterating everything in its wake.

Kaboom!

On the ground, Amanir covered his ears to protect himself from the deafening explosion. When he finally looked up, his eyes settled on the chest sitting before the veiled statue. Rex had given him a task, and he intended to complete it.

Just then, Empress Morgana moved into his path, blocking his way to the treasures.

"Do not even consider it," she warned, her eyes narrowing. "If you want what is in those chests, you must pass through me."

"How many times have you actually seen the Archangel of Knives in a real fight?"

"Hmm...?"

"I have always stood behind Rex. I have watched him battle through countless wars and face endless enemies, and he always emerges as the winner. If we are both wagering our lives right now, do you still feel so certain about your Archangel?"

This question caught Empress Morgana off guard.

Even as the clash above intensified, she stared at Amanir in sheer disbelief.

"The Archangel of Knives has never suffered a loss against a werewolf. He was gifted with the purpose to counter your kind by the First Light. I may not have witnessed his battles before, but the outcome is already decided. No werewolf can defeat hi—"

"Your expression doesn't carry the same certainty as your words, Empress."

Amanir tilted his head slightly.

That small movement made Empress Morgana scowl, as if it were making her hidden doubts grow louder.

"No matter how many people stand against Rex, I will always bet my life on him," Amanir declared with absolute faith, showing no trace of doubt. "You are opposing someone you don't truly know, standing beside someone you barely understand. You have stepped into a world that is beyond your comprehension."

"And what makes you believe I understand nothing?" Empress Morgana snapped back, her anger flaring. "I am aware that the Angels are reclaiming their power in the Mortal Realm—and I know that Void is currently the most powerful entity there. From my perspective, your confidence is nothing but blind faith."

"You really don't see it, do you?" Amanir chuckled, finding her situation almost comical. "You might not realize it yet, dear Empress, but you are already dead. Look at the ground and listen."

He gestured toward the earth.

For some reason, despite her pride, Empress Morgana felt forced to look down.

"Can you hear them? The souls screaming in the afterlife?" Amanir asked, making her strain her senses. "All those people who were exactly like you in the past... they are all calling out to you. They are telling you of their regrets. They are begging you to stop while there is still time."

"I... you are trying to trick me," Empress Morgana growled, glaring at Amanir.

"No? If you cannot hear them because your ego is too loud, then like I said," Amanir smiled. "You are already dead."

Swoosh!

Stelios’ golden eyes darted around, shocked to find that Rex had vanished into thin air.

His instincts screamed of an incoming threat from his right.

But he was too slow to respond.

CLANG!

Rex’s claws smashed into the shield, causing it to buckle inward before it erupted with crimson energy.

His strikes were now purely destructive, warping the very space around them with ease.

Stelios was sent spinning through the air, but another blow hammered against the barrier, sending him flying in the opposite direction.

'I am unable to move the moment he prepares to strike; he is locking the dimensions around me,' Stelios realized, noting the strange, temporary paralysis. 'It must be that Inevitable Death from his Soul Artifact. But it is irrelevant; it cannot bypass the barrier.'

Crack!

Just then, Rex connected with another strike from the flank.

A golden exoskeleton now covered his body like a second skin.

Stelios was thrown toward the sky but quickly corrected his posture, spreading his wings wide.

Swish!

A low, guttural growl escaped Rex’s throat as he reappeared behind Stelios, bringing his claws down with every ounce of his straining strength. But as the blow was about to land, his pupils dilated—he saw something manifest instantly.

A dozen golden portals opened on Stelios’ back, and from each, a knife shot out.

These were not the standard blades from before—these were vibrating with intense holy energy.

Splash!

Rex swatted several blades away and dodged others, but two managed to hit home—one piercing his palm and the other sinking into his shoulder. Before the pain could even register, Stelios vanished forward with a single flap of his wings, delivering a brutal kick that cracked against Rex’s jaw.

Like a falling star, Rex crashed into the rock formations below with a deafening boom.

Immediately, a rain of knives descended.

A relentless barrage hammered the spot where Rex had fallen.

However, as the dust settled, Rex appeared unharmed, shielded by a golden halo.

"A Soul Artifact of that quality does not belong in your hands," Stelios said, pulling a thicker knife covered in complex runes out of the void. With a powerful kick, he launched the blade at Rex, aiming not to wound him, but to shatter the Aegis of Moon Sentinel.

Swoosh!

Clang!

To his amazement, the knife veered at the last second, missing the halo by a fraction.

"Law..." Stelios’ smirk grew sharper. "It would be unfair for you to use that against me—wouldn't it? But my servant was kind enough to prepare this vessel for me. I initially thought creating a body this powerful was unnecessary—yet here you are, proving me wrong." His wings flexed as his aura expanded.

"And with this physical form... you are not the only one who can command the power of Law."
