The Invincible Full-Moon System Chapter 1750: Gathering of Scions

Optimism.
Skepticism.
Thrill.
These were the emotions swirling within Rex as he approached this destination.
There had been nothing unusual about Empress Morgana; at the very least, he hadn't detected any strange behavior from her.
She functioned as any sovereign should—leading her people, showing empathy, and offering them a glimmer of hope.
By taking the lead and meeting every obstacle head-on, she inspired both the civilians and the military. Now, the populace had embraced her as their new Empress. A woman of such dignity, elegance, and iron will would surely honor her oath.
That was Rex’s belief.
And to a certain degree, she had kept her promise.
The Phoenix Feather and the Maw of Oblivion were right there, resting inside those chests just a few meters away.
Had she intended to break her word from the start, she wouldn't have bothered bringing these treasures here. From this, Rex realized that her situation must have shifted. Her circumstances had evolved.
Delivering these chests was likely her attempt to soothe her own conscience.
It allowed her to maintain the illusion that she had fulfilled her end of the bargain.
Only external factors were stopping her from completing the final step of their agreement.
She was unable to actually hand the items over to Rex.
Yet, the remorse remained.
Rex could see it reflected in her gaze—no matter how hard she tried to mask it, the truth was visible to him.
It was that very guilt that prompted her to issue this caution.
"Leave," she whispered once more, her eyes starting to glisten with unshed tears. "Just leave..."
Even as she spoke, desperate to convince Rex that these objects weren't worth the cost, a part of her understood he would never retreat. There was no possibility of that. He didn't belong to this world, and his entire reason for crossing over was to claim these specific items.
That motivation would easily drown out her warning.
Turning back was simply not an option for him.
Nevertheless, she was determined to try, if only so his death wouldn't weigh on her soul.
"Understand that if you cross that line, that boundary, you are throwing your life away," she went on, a single tear tracing a path down her cheek. "Even your physical form in the Mortal Realm will vanish."
"Is this your attempt at intimidation?" Rex asked, arching an eyebrow. He signaled for Amanir to back away and depart, sensing that this encounter was about to take a dark turn. "I apologize, Empress Morgana, but I won't be going anywhere until I have what I came for."
Rex could already taste the exhilaration of the moment Nivellen would be healed.
He was already picturing her standing up again, restored to her former self.
Success was within his reach.
Even the previous night, he felt as though he could almost touch it.
With the required items only a few steps away, there was no way he would walk away with nothing.
Rex moved forward one step.
Then another.
Every footfall seemed to vibrate through the emptiness, as if the world itself had stopped turning.
The only sounds were his own pulse, his breathing, and the faint whistle of the wind.
The moment he set foot upon the platform, a barrage of System alerts flooded his vision.
<Scanning complete!>

...
Rex stared intently at the alerts.
He processed each one in an instant and drew a sharp, cold breath.
Before they had set out and fallen into the snare, Kei Xun had cautioned him that the trial was imminent. Looking back, he had expected it to trigger during the battle with the Immortal Slugs, especially since he had fallen alongside April.
He anticipated his Great Filter would involve another threat to those he loved.
He had never forgotten that specific night, not even for a second.
But that wasn't the case.
If that moment had been the Great Filter, the System notifications would have appeared then.
But there had been nothing.
Rex had been so blinded by fury at the time—triggering the Super Berserk Quest—that he had overlooked the most obvious detail. In his mindless rage, he truly thought his journey in the Spirit Realm was over.
He believed all that remained was to take the items and go home.
But he wasn't at the finish line yet.
In reality, there was still one final barrier to overcome.
Suddenly, the world around him came to a standstill.
A scowl formed on Rex's face.
He didn't dare speak or even breathe too loudly.
This moment felt fundamentally different; a strange, sickening sensation rose in his gut. It was the feeling of entering a first battle, or perhaps facing an entity so immensely powerful that he was utterly insignificant by comparison.
<Notice: the user is now before the Highseat of Invincibility.>
<It’s advised to answer the question correctly as there will be a heavy penalty for giving the wrong answer.>
Rex's pupils shook as he read the messages.
"Highseat of Invincibility...?" he whispered, his eyes widening in alarm as his muscles locked up.
Even with his head bowed toward the ground, he felt several crushing auras lock onto him. Each was heavy enough to shatter bone, piling on top of the suffocating pressure that had already hit him.
When he finally managed to compose himself and look up, the breath was knocked out of him.
The Tomb of Heroes had vanished.
The massive hall with its four statues was gone.
In its place stood a divine throne room beyond anything he could have imagined.
His own throne room at home was luxurious, but this... this was a million times more magnificent.
Rex hadn't noticed when the transition happened.
Before him sat a throne fit for a ruler of all existence; it towered like a monument made of living, scarlet crystal. Every edge glowed with a deep, internal rhythm—resembling a heartbeat more than simple light.
The entire hall was a symphony of reds: blood-colored, dark as a storm, bright as embers, and every shade in between.
They swirled together in a display of regal, violent beauty.
Behind the throne, there was no standard backrest; instead, two burning scarlet spires rose up.
They looked hollow and unfinished—as if the throne was still being created, despite already possessing the majesty of a seat for the master of all worlds. Threads of crimson light crisscrossed the high ceiling, merging before diving into a glowing core above.
A sun of blood-light sat like a crown over the throne's occupant.
Below it, a massive, imposing staircase ascended, built for the most powerful beings.
A royal red carpet cascaded down the center in thick layers, its color almost identical to the crystal glow of the throne. Flanking the carpet, steady streams of blood flowed through carved channels in perfect, never-ending lines.
There was no doubt... this was the Highseat of Invincibility.
On that vast staircase, which seemed to have a thousand steps, stood various figures.
Sanguine silhouettes occupied different levels of the climb.
They looked like shadows forged from blood and raw power.
Rex had appeared in this stunning throne room, but he was at the very base.
He hadn't even reached the stairs yet.
As he appeared, these shadows—each radiating a unique aura—turned to look over their shoulders.
They all stared down at Rex.
Some watched with cold neutrality, others with obvious thrill, and some with a murderous intent so thick it could crush a mountain. Rex knew exactly what they were.
Scions.
Contenders for Invincibility.
All gathered to witness a new arrival in the competition.
He recognized one figure near the bottom.
Her eyes and the quiet confidence of her posture were enough to identify her.
Kei Xun.
When she saw him, a small smile touched her lips.
Rex looked further up at the three silhouettes closest to the Highseat of Invincibility. Their power was being held back by the room, but he could still feel it. Each one was an existence he couldn't hope to match in his current state.
One felt like a freezing flame that burned without warning.
Another was like a tempest, a weight that dominated the air before one even realized they were kneeling.
The third felt like a gentle wind, slow and relaxed, yet powerful enough to knock over giants.
Two gave him indifferent stares, while the third waved at him with an enthusiastic grin.
Despite having power far beyond his current understanding, none of them spoke. He was the newcomer—young and weak—but no one attacked. This was because the Highseat of Invincibility was presiding over them.
In its presence, none of them dared to interfere.
Splash!
Rex looked up at the radiant red core above the throne as its light flooded the chamber.
The light then narrowed, focusing entirely on him.
According to the System, he was about to be asked a question. His response would decide if he faced the penalty. Since this was tied to attaining invincibility, he knew the consequences would be unbearable.
He had to provide the correct answer.
"Scion Rex..."
A voice rang out.
It wasn't booming or monstrous as Rex had expected.
Instead, the voice was plain and flat—it was the voice of a woman.
Everyone watched Rex in a heavy silence, their eyes filled with anticipation.
They all knew the question the Highseat of Invincibility would ask—the solitary test every aspirant faced before becoming a Blank. This one question would decide if Rex was just a pretender or a true challenger.
"Invincibility is a throne meant only for the mighty. It is for one person alone—one strong enough to face anyone. One who knows no fear. One who is the most rebellious. And now, Invincibility has one simple question for you..."
"Can you endure more?"
As it said, the question was straightforward.
Can you endure more?
Everything he had faced so far had been agonizing and overwhelming.
But to reach the peak, the future would be even more brutal and painful.
The question was simply whether Rex had the will to keep going.
A month ago, he might have struggled to find an answer.
Now... he didn't even hesitate.
"I didn't choose to be a Werewolf; it was simply my only option. I didn't choose to be an emperor; it was simply my only option. And I didn't choose to be a Scion... I had no other path. Regardless, I am a Scion now."
Rex looked up, meeting a hundred stares directly.
"I live to protect those by my side. If the cost of their safety is invincibility, I will pay it without a second thought. So yes—I can endure much more." He pointed a single finger at the silhouettes standing above him. "Let me be clear... if any of you bastards try to come for me, I'll bury you."
"I'll use your corpses as steps to reach that throne. So, unless you plan on helping me, I suggest you stay far away from me and what belongs to me..."
