The Evolution Of A Goblin To The Peak Chapter 1241: Meeting of the Dragon Council

Previously on The Evolution Of A Goblin To The Peak...
Uncle Wiptar sacrificed himself to hold off their pursuers, urging a terrified Fadu to flee and warn his family of a traitor among them. As Fadu ran through the forest, he was ambushed by a monstrous assailant, only to be saved by Souta's clone, who introduced himself as Atos and knocked the attacker unconscious. Taking Fadu to the recent battlefield, they discovered Wiptar's lifeless body amid the devastation, forcing them to abandon it and evade capture by hiding in the earth as the enemies searched nearby.

Souta remained motionless, anticipating Fadu's awakening.

Plenty weighed on his mind, alongside strategies demanding careful thought.

He intended to seize Wave Bond City for his own. Through quiet and calculated moves, he would take possession of it while securing a base within the Depth of Banquet. This conquest served as the opening move in his broader ambitions, building the base for upcoming pursuits.

Quite promising, he reflected, shooting a quick look at Fadu prior to shutting his eyes.

Time flew by in what seemed like an instant.

Souta avoided true slumber. Instead, his awareness stayed alert, probing the surroundings for the slightest motion or indication of intruders drawing near.

A subtle shift nearby drew his focus. Fadu began to stir awake.

...

Within the Land of Fire, Souta's primary form floated high over the capital, observing the urban expanse beneath him.

His eyes turned toward the spot where his clone resided.

"This marks a solid beginning."

Gazing upon the vast avenues and spires stretching out, he sensed the timing was ideal—a chance to intervene and observe developments spanning the continents.

A soft luminescence captured his notice. An item levitated nearby, emitting a gentle, consistent aura.

[Meeting Table of the Outer Realm]

This particular artifact had endured the conflict, in contrast to many of his others—all those of red grade or lower—which lay in ruins. Although red grade on its own, it belonged to a superior set, granting it durability surpassing its surface level.

Souta channeled his strongest feram into the item. A brilliant radiance burst forth, clear and intense, enveloping him as the device sprang to life.

Ohm!

...

In some remote area of the Immortal Land.

Alexander pressed onward across the boundless sands with Yaniesvyl at his side. They donned airy robes in pale hues, featuring extended sleeves and trousers to guard against the relentless sunlight. Face wraps shielded them from the blistering, powdery grains that lashed over the shifting dunes.

"Our goal lies just ahead," Alexander remarked, his tone even and subdued.

Yaniesvyl gave a nod, her eyes sweeping the distant skyline.

Existence proved rare in this barren waste. The desert proved merciless: amid a mana storm's fury, heat could soar to three thousand degrees Celsius, while nights dropped into bone-chilling frost. Thriving demanded constant wariness and alertness.

All at once, Alexander stopped short. His instincts heightened, picking up on an invisible disturbance.

Yaniesvyl spotted it right away. "Something amiss, Alex?" she inquired, pivoting to face him.

"A summons for a gathering has arrived. From someone absent for months," Alexander explained, retrieving a small relic from his attire—the [Meeting Table of the Outer Realm].

"Absent for months?" Yaniesvyl's gaze widened with sudden insight. "No way..."

Alexander confirmed with a somber tilt of his head. "Souta. The Blood Lightning Monster."

"He's... truly survived..." Yaniesvyl murmured, her words laced with shock and reverence.

"Our trek will have to wait, it appears," Alexander stated.

They shared a swift, meaningful look before ascending skyward, gliding with the grace of hunters on the prowl.

In mere seconds, they located a hidden overlook.

Alexander placed the relic before him. Its face shimmered softly. Before long, it would disclose all the vital details.

Ohm!!

...

Within the [Meeting Table of the Outer Realm], Alexander's mind took form at the threshold.

He swung wide the enormous entrance and entered a vast hall. A colossal table occupied the center, encircled by various seated individuals.

His attention settled on a captivating woman with ample curves, draped in a billowing robe of blue and white.

"You've arrived," Alexander noted.

"Naturally," she answered with a subtle grin. "The famed Blood Lightning Monster is on the verge of revealing himself. I'll confess my interest is piqued." Xue Yi's eyes gleamed with fascination.

Alexander claimed his chair, surveying the assembly. Apart from the known Fourth Head, the Third Head attended too, though transformed.

She towered a full head higher now. Her locks, tinted green from her evolved methods, tumbled over relaxed attire of blue-and-pink extended sleeves paired with white trousers.

This marked Ferlyn Duman, the Third Head of the Dragon Council.

Alexander's focus then moved to a fresh arrival among them.

A lady of divine allure, her nut-brown tresses draping her shoulders, complemented by splendid white wings arching elegantly at her back.

She was an Angel, freshly named Sixth Head of the Dragon Council, Esriel Georagnisus.

With limbs crossed and lids shut, Esriel projected serene command, her aura compelling deference even in repose.

Alexander examined Esriel briefly. He'd reviewed her dossier earlier. A Tenth Shackle Realm master, she'd commanded a senior role in the Angel Faction.

'How on earth did they recruit such a formidable force into the Dragon Council?' he pondered inwardly.

Before deeper reflection, the grand portal parted once more.

A figure entered. Nearing two meters in stature, bearing sleek black hair trimmed close, tapered ears, and limbs etched with elaborate markings. His armor in red and white shone brightly in the hall's illumination.

The Fifth Head of the Dragon Council, Jursa Redmantle.

'He's altered as well...' Alexander considered.

Next, his sight landed on the shape trailing Jursa, creasing his forehead.

A fearsome aura dominated the entry. Horned, with fiery red orbs for eyes and serrated fangs in abundance, its ebony hide throbbed with scarlet lines. Enveloped in a dark carapace, a lengthy tail tipped with spikes swayed in its wake. A verdant crystal pulsed at its torso's core, flanked by tinier stones on brow and deltoids.

This was Gerxuzs, the First Head of the Dragon Council.

'His notoriety surged upon hitting Fifth Stage,' Alexander recalled to himself.

Engaged in endless clashes over the lands... pursued myriad beasts, demis, and mortals without mercy.

The beastly form emanated untamed might as it advanced. Its very essence weighed upon the space, enforcing awe.

Gerxuzs and Jursa claimed their spots, easing into positions around the gathering.

"Even that... beast has shown?" Xue Yi uttered with mild astonishment. "Amusing, given how seldom he joins sessions like this."

She gave a faint chuckle while shaking her head. "Nearly the full group assembles."

Then the entrance swung open anew.

Alexander's stare sharpened, one brow arching. 'At last, he's present,' he surmised.

A figure in shadowy robes crossed the threshold. Crimson strands trailed down his spine, clashing with the dimness. Dual sets of horns rose from his crown, scarlet gaze flashing through a vertical gash amid his brow. Tapered ears emerged from his mane, lending an alien mystique.

This was Souta.

Suddenly, the chamber plunged into heavy quiet.

Esriel lifted her lids gradually, fixing her sight on him in evaluation. Xue Yi and the rest mirrored her.

For Esriel and Xue Yi, this marked their initial live encounter. The others had spotted him months prior, yet vast shifts had occurred. An amplified force emanated from him now, an undeniable essence.

Though settled in their chairs, the Dragon Council felt his entrance's burden. Souta transcended the mere Blood Lightning Monster of tales; he embodied something vastly more intimidating.

Souta's scarlet orbs scanned the assembly prior to him dropping into his place.

From First Head through Ninth, all attended save one empty chair. Months had passed since the Dragon Council last gathered in full.

Clap!

The Fourth Head's palms struck the surface, capturing all focus. With the assembly's notice secured, he commenced, "All have arrived. The Seventh Head requested this assembly. To start, I'll present the recent Heads to him."

He indicated the arrivals in turn. Sequentially, he named Esriel Georagnisus and Xue Yi, both fresh inductees to the Dragon Council, boasting exceptional fighting prowess.

Souta's regard paused on Xue Yi. 'I recall her from the game...' he contemplated. Her presence here surprised him, yet upon reflection, it aligned—her link to Alexander probably earned her spot.

Next, his view drifted to Esriel.

This feels unfamiliar.

She'd never crossed his path, not even within the game.

With presentations finished, Souta addressed the group at large. His words, steady and firm, resonated through the space.

"I value the Dragon Council's backing amid the clashes months back."

The Dragon Council endured severe casualties then. Numerous Heads perished, compelling survivors into seclusion, solely due to their alliance with him. Souta's thanks to the group ran profound. He grasped the price of their allegiance.

To this day, neither Hall Plains nor Mine Valley fell under Council sway. Threats persisted; foes pursued without cease.

"I've grasped the present circumstances and bring some insights to share," Souta declared, his delivery deliberate and assured.

He aimed to lend aid to the Dragon Council, mirroring their support when he'd confronted overwhelming foes.

Though he viewed himself as far from saintly, ingratitude eluded him. He always remembered allies who'd backed him in critical hours.
