The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order Chapter 5

Cain Laurifer activates his A.I. Chip to assess his physical condition, revealing multiple internal injuries and fractures that he cannot afford to treat at a hospital. Forced to rely on potent military drugs left by his father, he finds temporary relief from the pain while lamenting his current lack of cultivation talent. To pass the time during his recovery, Cain turns to a historical text detailing humanity's desperate exodus from the poisoned Old World and the discovery of a dangerous new dimension. The records describe the rise of the first Emperor, a man who harnessed a supernatural force known as Wave to subjugate world leaders and lead humankind into a new era of power.

The political and military landscape of the Old World underwent a massive transformation under the leadership of the Emperor of Humankind. Paper currency became worthless overnight since it held no utility in the new realm; instead, a man’s true worth was measured solely by his intellect and raw physical power.

Generals, strategists, and frontline soldiers rose as the most vital figures in this new era. Politicians quickly realized that swaying the masses meant nothing when a single powerful individual possessed the strength to slaughter them all with one blow.

The Emperor of Humankind spent nearly a year cultivating talent and educating the populace on the fundamentals of the Wave and this unfamiliar world. Finally, he guided humanity away from their ancestral lands and into a new frontier.

Humankind managed to secure a foothold in this strange land, protected by the Emperor of Humankind and bolstered by the emergence of soldiers who had mastered the Wave.

One of the initial obstacles they faced was the re-evaluation of science. Because the physical laws of this world differed from those of the Old World, existing technology was rendered obsolete.

Nevertheless, humanity endured. Our borders grew, and the creatures that were once viewed as unstoppable monsters were eventually relegated to mere sources of food.

Seventy-six years after the exodus from the Old World, two vital revelations were uncovered by humankind.

.....

The first revelation was that this new world was called Aether, and our current location was the Gaia Continent. While the total size of the world remained a mystery, the Gaia Continent alone was a thousand times larger than the Old World.

The second revelation was the existence of other sentient races. These beings possessed wisdom equal to humans and had achieved a much higher level of mastery over the Wave.

A violent conflict erupted shortly after encountering these races. Though humankind was formidable, we were still in our infancy. Our lack of experience combined with the enemy’s brutality pushed the human race to the very edge of extinction.

We labeled them the Dark Races, and the leaders who orchestrated humanity's defeats were hailed as Gods.

Unlike the intangible deities of the Old World, the Gods of the Dark Races were not invisible spirits. They were supernatural entities with the literal power to vaporize oceans and shatter mountain ranges.

Just as hope seemed to vanish, humankind fell back on what they did best.

We engaged in destruction.

Following a century of intense research, humanity successfully adapted one of the most devastating weapons from the Old World to function within the new environment.

The chosen weapon was the H-Bomb.

While a standard nuclear weapon can generate an explosion a hundred times hotter than the core of the Old World’s sun, these adapted H-Bombs were a thousand times more lethal!

The Emperor of Humankind and his inner circle of generals lured the Gods into marching deep into human-held territory.

When the Gods and the armies of the Dark Races finally reached the heart of humankind’s lands, they found nothing but desolate, empty plains.

And one thousand H-Bombs!

Though it was night, the detonation of those H-Bombs turned the sky bright for fifteen minutes.

Such a cataclysmic blast would have destroyed the Old World, yet Aether managed to withstand the force without issue.

Countless warriors of the Dark Races were vaporized along with many of their Gods. While a few Gods survived the onslaught, none escaped without sustaining horrific injuries.

The Emperor of Humankind understood that the H-Bomb gambit was not a final victory; it merely bought them the time needed to increase their Cultivation.

As the Dark Races retreated to heal, humankind went into hiding, slowly refining their strength in the shadows.

Five centuries of peace followed until a new war broke out. This time, however, it was humankind who initiated the strike.

Emerging from hiding, we marched against the Dark Races. While human warriors could now stand toe-to-toe with their enemies, they were still outmatched by the Gods.

Yet, just as the Dark Races relied on their Gods, humankind had developed its own spiritual protectors: the Titans!

The first and most powerful Titan among them was none other than the Emperor of Humankind himself.

The ensuing war was bloody and relentless, claiming hundreds of millions of lives. But after nearly a millennium of combat, humankind drove out the Dark Races and seized total dominance over the Gaia Continent.

That conflict was recorded as the War of Supremacy, and it earned humanity the title: Godslayer Humankind!

Reading this history always sent a surge of adrenaline through Cain’s heart. Although that era was defined by slaughter, it was also a golden age of myths and legends.

He shut the book and gazed at the motto of the Godslayer Humankind printed on the back, causing his pulse to quicken.

“We can comprehend the supernatural. We can dominate the supernatural. We can kill the supernatural.” – Adam, Emperor of Humankind, The First Titan.

Cain slid the volume back onto the shelf and pulled out a different title: Introduction to Wave Cultivation.

For the Godslayer Humankind, the primary Path of Power followed by almost everyone in Wave Cultivation involved a Sacred Organ in the lower abdomen called the Evolution Core.

In its raw form, the Wave exists as Life Wave. A practitioner must pull this into their Evolution Core to refine it into Essence Wave.

One’s talent is determined by how quickly they can draw Life Wave into the Evolution Core. A person like Cain, who possessed a Low Tier 1 Wave Talent, would require ten years to reach the rank of Level 1 Wave Warrior. In contrast, high-talent individuals like Jonathan only needed a few months.

Methods to enhance one’s Wave Talent did exist, but they were impossible to obtain for anyone lacking a powerful background or immense wealth.

Cain spent nearly an hour reading, only stopping once he realized the physical pain had finally faded. Although his body still bore some minor injuries, they would heal naturally and would not interfere with his training.

The youth grabbed a quick meal before leaving his home, offering a final bow to his small altar. He then began sprinting toward a nearby forest at his maximum speed.

Cain was so focused on his training that he failed to spot a pair of eyes watching him intently from the darkness.
