The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order Chapter 2380 The Dark City

Previously on The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order...
The True Primordial of the Void and the Knights of the Scarlet Kingdom pressed their assault against waves of True Depravitas, determined to destroy the red boxes, sever the monster influx, and dismantle the gravitational formation plaguing the floating city. High above, the Scarlet King, Cain, strained to shield the Scarlet Crown from relentless detonations, his energy depleting under the onslaught. Unbeknownst to him, the Immortal Knight Sozing infiltrated the city undetected, suppressing his aura to strike at Cain during a moment of vulnerability. As Sozing lunged, Cain's senses pierced the deception through the intruder's burning resolve, impaling him with the Zero-State Spear and unraveling his soul in a surge of chaotic extermination. Yet in a shocking resurgence, Sozing seized the weapon and plunged his hand into Cain's head, declaring victory.

As soon as the hand touched Cain's head, an intense surge rushed through every fiber of his existence. This force broke past his Lucid Dream and slammed into the Alter-Ego with strength that ignored all natural laws.

In that very moment, a fracture appeared deep inside Cain's soul and sense of self.

Within a single beat, his eyes flew open in alarm as the sensation hit him.

"My powers as a Dreamwalker... severed."

The truth landed like a sharp dagger.

That one detail brought horrifying consequences. Lacking his Dreamwalker authority, Cain could no longer project his True Name outside the limits of the Nine Empyrean Suns Universe.

"If I die now... my True Name will cease to exist."

The sheer peril and inevitability of that reality sucked the vitality from Cain's gaze. In its place came a far icier void, plunging to depths never before reached. His aura burst forth without warning, overwhelming heavens and ground in equal measure. Even the self-destructive True Depravitas halted their plunge, their warped drives crushed by raw fear. "What a monster..."

The Immortal Knight sensed that dread more sharply than any other. Still, he refused to waver. His eyes flared with crimson glow as a swirling maelstrom of matching hue formed around them both, devouring their forms in a flash.

Disbelief shot through the eyes of the True Primordial of the Void and the Knights of the Scarlet Throne as Cain disappeared entirely. No hint of his essence lingered anywhere in the Everstrife Empyrean World.

"Damn it!" Anark bellowed.

Fury detonated from him as he thrust a fist ahead. A colossal surge of purple ruin ripped apart the last wave of Shooting Star True Depravitas and smashed straight into Markin and Kaizer. The blow hurled them spinning through the sky, blood erupting, bones cracking, the red boxes still fixed to their grips.

The Godslayer Human and Atrox hung on by mere threads to survival.

One more blow would have finished them off.

Regrettably, Anark lacked the opportunity.

The crimson boxes trembled fiercely, then ballooned outward in a blink, engulfing Markin and Kaizer entirely before fading away. Loathing and wrath scorched in Anark's stare. Cain's vanishing pressed down on him hard, but he detected no sign of the Scarlet King whatsoever.

And that wasn't the sole issue.

Despite Markin and Kaizer's departure, the Scarlet Crown faced dire peril. Countless True Depravitas kept plummeting, Cain's Chaos Wings offered no more protection to the city, and the gravitational array persisted in hauling it earthward.

Ideas swirled in Anark's thoughts, yet delay was impossible.

In under a second, his focus hardened. Free from the sea of True Depravitas, Anark shifted instantly below the hovering city and released his might.

The Scarlet Crown teetered mere seconds from slamming into the continent, compelling the True Primordial of the Void to swell his form and halt its fall using his back and shoulders.

Simultaneously, Leonidas, Bael, and Amon surged into action. They streaked back to the Scarlet Crown's surface, ripping through the lingering True Depravitas with ruthless precision. Though formidable and plentiful, the beasts served as disposable tools, wholly unable to resist the Knights of the

Scarlet Throne.

In mere minutes, the three had pulverized, sliced, and burned away every final True Depravita born from the red boxes. With the urgent threat eliminated, they shifted focus to the gravitational array.

Once on the ground, the trio poured their soul strength and mental force into it, breaking it down piece by piece.

Freed from the relentless tug, the Scarlet Crown steadied and returned to its usual suspended position. The inhabitants within gradually stood up from the dirt, their frames still quaking from the overwhelming force they had borne.

Leonidas, Amon, and Bael sped back to Anark's location at once. Their faces held somber weight, doubt clouding their gazes. With his immense strength and the faith Cain invested in him, Anark served as the natural deputy ruler of the Scarlet Kingdom.

His forehead creased in deep thought as he assessed their choices.

"Since you three are unharmed," Anark stated deliberately, "Cain is still alive."

The Knights agreed with nods. As Knights of the Scarlet Throne, their souls and identities dwelled within the Scarlet Throne, making their existence a testament to the Scarlet King's vitality.

"The problem," Anark went on, "is where that man took him. If Cain were anywhere within the Everstrife Empyrean World-or even the surrounding void-I would be able to perceive him. But I cannot."

With Cain's continued life assured, locating him turned into the only goal.

Without delay, Anark called together the top leaders of the Scarlet Kingdom to form a strategy. He stood as the mightiest, but raw power didn't ensure cleverness. Even so, shared perspectives would illuminate the way ahead much better.

A sprawling metropolis lay under a sky without stars.

Imposing structures and enormous high-rises pierced the gloom. At a casual look, it seemed normal, but a nearer view uncovered disturbing oddities. The nighttime heavens held no stars at all, draping the city in an eerie, total blackness. Even more bizarre, the roads stood vacant-completely barren of any signs of life.

It resembled a realm locked in quiet, as though forsaken by all creation.

Suddenly, a scarlet whirlpool split the atmosphere.

Two forms stepped out.

The Scarlet King and the Immortal Knight materialized together,

in the exact stance they held back in the Scarlet Crown.

Without pause, the fading red essence in the Immortal Knight's eyes detonated, unleashing a ruinous blast that flung Cain aside. The Zero-State Spear tore free from his head as he soared across the city.

Cain crashed through a single structure before lodging deep into the side of another.

The collision rang out through the deserted streets.

Gradually, Cain raised his head. His eyes tightened as he sensed the burden

weighing on his frame. His very being held more density and force than a whole planet, yet the substance of the edifice had endured his impact.

His stare intensified.

"Where am I?"
