"BOOOOOOMMMM!"
The heavens trembled as a colossal detonation occurred, sparked by the collision between the Scarlet King’s fists and those of the Ancient One. Arcs of scarlet-obsidian and white lightning crackled violently around them, signaling the terrifying release of their overgod power.
Cain’s skeletal structure groaned under the intense pressure of the head-on engagement; the vibration in his arms was so fierce he feared his limbs might shatter. It was undeniable that the Ancient One still possessed a monstrous level of physical strength. Nevertheless, Cain held his ground. Gritting his teeth against the pain, a savage grin etched itself onto his features.
Although his cultivation base remained unchanged, the emergence of the dodecahedron and his subsequent racial evolution had sparked a transcendental shift in his very soul and physical essence. His combat prowess had surged to a level capable of withstanding the devastating might of one of the universe’s apex beings.
While one combatant smirked, the other’s expression was a mask of pure, unadulterated fury.
The Ancient One struggled to comprehend the reality of the situation.
Every time he grasped for total victory, a new obstacle emerged to shove him back. For billions of years, he had meticulously crafted schemes he believed were foolproof. He had prepared contingency after contingency to ensure his passage through the Eternity Gate remained unobstructed.
Yet, because of a mere youth who had not even reached a millennium of age, his grand designs were crumbling into dust. How could he possibly reconcile with such a defeat?
"Why don't you just die!?"
With a thunderous roar, the Ancient One swung a vicious hook toward Cain’s temple. Reacting with split-second precision, Cain twisted his frame to evade the strike before countering with a brutal uppercut. The fist connected perfectly with the ancient horror’s jaw, launching him soaring higher into the firmament.
"He’s still in a weakened state," Cain noted internally, his smile broadening.
Cain knew that even with his evolution, facing the Ancient One at the peak of his power would be a gamble. While the antagonist's physical form had largely mended, his unique authority and soul were still fractured. That specific vulnerability was the opening Cain needed—and he was determined to press the advantage.
His wings snapped open, propelling him upward as raw energy surged through his Meridians. The very laws and rules of the cosmos seemed to resonate within every cell of his being.
The Ancient One managed to stabilize himself just in time. His gaze turned vacant as he suppressed his rage, hatred, and frustration, forcing his mind into a state of absolute battle clarity. Eons of combat experience flooded back into his consciousness.
With clinical precision, he sidestepped Cain’s next assault and delivered a bone-crushing blow to the chest, sending the Scarlet King spiraling through the air.
A trickle of blood escaped Cain’s lips, but he responded with a laugh. Though the Ancient One’s strikes caused significant harm, they were not enough to break his spirit. This meant he could sacrifice defense for total aggression. Fueled by a rising killing intent, he blurred back into the fray.
Far below, the inhabitants of Origin Island were paralyzed. They were trapped within the Ancient One’s shadow sphere, either being consumed as essence or crushed by the suffocating weight of the Matrix. The Demon King, Meylin, and the surviving combatants could do nothing but watch from the ground.
High above, wings of white plasma clashed repeatedly against obsidian-scarlet pinions. Each impact radiated such overwhelming force that the fabric of reality shimmered with a mix of beauty and dread. The spectators could only pray for Cain’s success, or at the very least, that he could hold out until the island’s gates closed.
Cain’s eyes burned with a brilliant scarlet intensity as the Flow and the Power of Chaos reached unprecedented heights. Dodging a strike, he contorted his body in mid-air to deliver a punishing spinning kick aimed at the Ancient One’s head.
However, just before the blow landed, the Ancient One’s eye flared with light.
The power of Negation manifested, freezing the kick in its tracks.
Blood began to leak from that eye, a clear sign of the heavy price paid for invoking such a power. The Ancient One ignored the strain, thrusting his palm forward into Cain’s chest and releasing a repulsive wave that sent him flying.
Cain plummeted through the sky, coughing up a spray of blood. Before the agony could even register, the Ancient One was already closing the distance for another strike.
Cain’s gaze sharpened with resolve.
Drawing a deep breath, he extended his open hand.
Instantly, his internal energy merged with the ambient power of the world, condensing into a sphere of obsidian plasma. The moment the Ancient One arrived, Cain detonated the technique.
A pillar of pure annihilation erupted, causing the sky itself to vibrate. The Ancient One was swallowed by the blast and hurled into the distance.
A momentary flicker of alarm crossed the Ancient One’s otherwise stoic face.
The obsidian discharge possessed a terrifying quality. It appeared to bypass all standard cosmic defenses and energy shields, leaving his body severely scorched.
Cain himself was taken aback by the result.
"It’s as if I am merging the destructive essence of the Neo-Demon True Doomsday Body with the fundamental destruction of the universe," he realized. "It is evolving into an entirely new force."
It was evident that his new racial form held secrets he had yet to master. However, the heat of battle left no room for contemplation.
"I will let instinct guide me."
With that resolve, Cain charged. He thrust his hands forward, raining down a barrage of obsidian plasma projectiles.
The Ancient One attempted to deflect them using Negation, but the bolts tore right through his defense. He was forced to focus entirely on evasion to avoid being shredded.
Through sheer concentration, the Ancient One managed to weave through the volley. Unfortunately, that brief lapse in offensive pressure was exactly what Cain anticipated.
Cain manifested directly in front of his foe.
Bringing his palms together, he formed an obsidian sphere far more concentrated and volatile than the last. It thrummed with a staggering density of power.
Cain detonated the sphere at point-blank range.
"BOOOOOOOOOOMMMM!"
A dark explosion lit up the heavens, followed by a concentrated beam that drove the Ancient One straight into the earth. The collision carved a gargantuan canyon across the face of Origin Island, as the ground buckled and split under the immense pressure.
