"BOOM!" "BOOM!" "BOOM!" "BOOM!" "BOOM!" "BOOM!" "BOOM!"
The heart of Origin Island shook with thunderous detonations as three figures engaged in a high-speed collision, every strike vibrating with the force of absolute destruction. One combatant radiated a brilliant scarlet, the second glowed a deep crimson, and the third was enveloped in oppressive darkness. Their combined aura caused the firmament to tremble, and the very fabric of space groaned under the immense Cultivation they wielded.
Fury seethed within the Ancient One, yet his gaze remained as sharp as a blade. As Sky Devourer swung toward him, he met the edge with his palm. Though his state was diminished, his Power of Negation stripped the sword of its momentum, allowing him to catch the weapon with his bare hand.
Before he could launch a counter-stroke against Cain, a rapid-fire volley of projectiles forced him to move. The Ancient One unleashed a repulsive shockwave that sent the Scarlet King reeling, then contorted his frame mid-air to dodge the incoming fire.
While the Scarlet King’s Chaos Arts were formidable and undeniably lethal, they did not truly terrify the Ancient One; he knew they couldn't kill him in a single blow. The same could not be said for the weaponry of the Crimson Exarch.
He calculated that the devastating blast which had previously obliterated half his head could only be utilized one more time. However, he lacked the means to distinguish a standard shot from the one capable of erasing his very existence. Consequently, he was forced to treat every single discharge as a fatal threat.
Navigating through the hail of fire, the Ancient One suddenly surged forward to close the gap with the Crimson Exarch. Dark shadows swirled around his fingers as a multitude of eyes manifested within the gloom, their pupils locking onto their target.
The Crimson Exarch’s expression darkened. He tried to create distance, maintaining a steady stream of fire as he retreated, but his efforts were futile. Regardless of his maneuvers, the Ancient One gained ground with every heartbeat.
With a final, explosive burst of speed, the Ancient One reached his mark.
Instantly, the Wings of Order expanded, wrapping the Crimson Exarch in a protective cocoon. Yet, the moment the Ancient One’s palm struck the wings, a massive sealing force permeated the Crimson Exarch's entire being. His body seized and his power was instantly stifled.
But before the Ancient One could exploit this vulnerability, Sky Devourer intervened.
The Scarlet King’s blade whistled toward his throat, forcing the Ancient One to pull back his hand and raise his forearm to parry.
"BOOM!"
Vibrant scarlet flames erupted upon impact. The sheer physical might of the blow drove the Ancient One backward, ruining his stance. Before he could re-center himself, the Crimson Exarch merged his twin firearms, transforming them into a colossal rifle.
A beam of golden radiance surged from the barrel, traveling faster than any conventional bullet.
It hit the Ancient One at point-blank range, sent him tumbling through the dirt, and carved a jagged trench into the island's surface.
"ARGHH!"
Bellowing in rage, the Ancient One released a violent pulse of energy that shattered the lingering beam as he dug his heels into the earth.
There was no respite for him, however.
Sky Devourer came crashing down again, the raw power of the strike reaching a terrifying peak. The Ancient One crossed his arms above his head to intercept it; the ground beneath him disintegrated as pillars of scarlet fire shot toward the sky.
The heat scorched the skin beneath his protective shadows, but the Ancient One ignored the pain. His lone eye stayed fixed on the Crimson Exarch as another projectile streaked toward his neck.
Was it a standard shot—agonizing but survivable? Or was it the final Big Crunch Shot?
Haunted by the uncertainty, the Ancient One had to assume the worst.
He jerked to the side, allowing Sky Devourer to tear through his left arm while he narrowly avoided the bullet. In the same motion, he pivoted and drove a brutal kick into Cain’s solar plexus.
The strike shattered ribs, and Cain coughed up a spray of blood as he was catapulted backward. However, the Scarlet King reacted with instinctive speed, plunging Sky Devourer into the ground to halt his momentum. Ignoring his injuries, he stabilized himself and hoisted the greatsword once more.
He buried the blade deep into the earth.
A massive wave of scarlet fire surged forward, racing toward the Ancient One like a volcanic tide.
The Ancient One extended his hand, halting the inferno before it could consume him. In that split second, his eye widened in alarm.
Two silhouettes burst through the wall of fire.
Descending from above was the Scarlet King, his hands held high, his weapon wreathed in a blazing aura. Rising from below was the Crimson Exarch, a single gun emerging from the smoke aimed directly at the base of the Ancient One's skull—a silent, lethal shot designed to decapitate him.
He had only a fraction of a second to choose which threat to neutralize.
Inevitably, the Ancient One prioritized the Crimson Exarch.
His left hand emitted a pulse of restrictive power that paralyzed the Crimson Exarch, locking his movements and preventing his gun from rising. Simultaneously, the Ancient One raised his right arm to brace against the descending sword.
But as the Scarlet King’s hands cleared the flames, the Ancient One’s eye filled with pure shock.
What Cain held was not a sword.
It was a firearm.
The truth hit him in an instant.
The Crimson Exarch had only been using one of his weapons.
The other had been in Cain’s possession the entire time.
The wall of fire had been a masterful ruse—a distraction meant to lure him into a fatal error.
The gambit had succeeded.
The Scarlet King aimed the barrel directly at the Ancient One’s face. Despite the blood staining his teeth, a grim smile pulled at his lips.
He squeezed the trigger.
The Big Crunch Shot was fired.
