The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order Chapter 2338 The Ancient One's ultimatum

Previously on The Epic Tale of Chaos vs Order...
Cain stands before the ancient Eternity Gate, discovering a mysterious resonance between the structure and his own Scarlet Throne. To bypass the gate, he begins ascending a massive pyramid, assimilating profound insights from the different realms with each step to evolve his Neo-Demon Core and strengthen his True Name. His progress is interrupted by the arrival of the Ancient One, a formidable figure who demands Cain’s submission. Refusing to yield, Cain launches a preemptive strike, unleashing his most devastating power, Ragnarök, to shatter reality and overwhelm his adversary.

The Ancient One’s gaze sharpened instantly, despite the suddenness of the assault. With a single hand raised, he intercepted Ragnarök directly. An arc of energy—one possessing enough power to split a Middle Alpha-Omega Overgod in two—was stopped dead by nothing more than his open palm. It was a staggering display of raw strength.

Violent waves of reality-shattering light radiated in every direction, causing the heavens to tremble and the ground to heave, yet the Ancient One remained unfazed. He stood like an immovable pillar at the epicenter of the destruction, completely steady.

However, Cain’s offensive was far from over.

Cain materialized behind the Ancient One before the initial flash of light could even dissipate. His heart hammered with the intensity of a supernova as he pushed his Asura Form to the absolute limit of his physical endurance.

His muscles expanded as a torrent of life force and soul power flooded his frame. The Scarlet King swung toward the Ancient One’s neck with lethal intent.

To Cain's misfortune, Sky Devourer failed to reach its mark.

The Ancient One used his free hand to catch the blade.

Cain’s pupils dilated as a freezing sensation washed over him upon impact. It felt as if his weapon had plunged into absolute nothingness—a vacuum stripped of space-time, an unreachable abyss that defied passage.

Even so, Cain did not falter.

With a hardened expression, he pressed his palm against the flat of Sky Devourer’s blade and uttered a single command.

"Ragnarök."

Genuine astonishment flickered in the Ancient One’s eyes as Cain activated his Chaos Art for a second time.

"BOOOOM!"

A fresh detonation fractured reality. The Ancient One was suddenly caught between two reality-sundering crescents of light striking from opposite sides. Each strike was infused with the total Power of Chaos and the concentrated might of the Matrix of Origin Island, enough to overwhelm even the Ancient One’s Power of Negation.

The Ancient One remained an incomprehensible monster, however, capable of resisting Cain’s most devastating technique with his bare flesh.

But at that moment, fate intervened cruelly.

The Ancient One’s body suddenly convulsed as he struggled against the dual arcs. A searing agony flared in his chest, originating exactly where the Leader of the Masked Race had previously wounded him. That injury reopened violently, sabotaging his focus and strength at the most desperate second.

His arms gave way under the immense backlash, and a trickle of blood escaped the corner of his mouth.

The two reality-shattering arcs surged forward before the Ancient One could stabilize, piercing his defenses and consuming him in a blinding explosion. A pillar of light erupted toward the heavens, causing space itself to vibrate.

A massive, regal cross of radiance burned with magnificent fervor, saturated with the laws and rules of the world. It appeared as though the glow would persist for hours, but after mere seconds, the structure shook violently and was ripped apart by an internal shockwave.

The Ancient One stepped out of the light with frigid, piercing eyes. His body was scored with countless lacerations—some were superficial, while others followed the deep gashes left by the Leader of the Masked Race, widening them and driving the damage significantly deeper.

A burning fury took root in the Ancient One’s heart at the realization that an Early Alpha Omega Overgod had managed to inflict such wounds upon him.

There was no time for contemplation, however.

A scarlet meteor plummeted from the sky, carrying momentum sufficient to annihilate a world.

The Ancient One’s expression turned grim as he raised his hand—this time, he intended to repel rather than endure.

A repulsive wave saturated with pure Power of Negation surged outward, clashing head-on with the descending Sky Devourer. Cain ground his teeth as he felt the force trying to do more than just push him back; it was attempting to unmake his very existence.

His eyes flared with intensity as his Wings of Chaos beat violently, funneling the power of the cosmos through his sword.

"Hmph." The Ancient One let out a sneer, clearly vexed by Cain’s persistence.

He invoked the Power of Negation once more—but this time, he applied it to himself.

To Cain’s horror, the Ancient One vanished instantly, leaving Cain’s downward momentum to carry him toward the earth like a falling star. A palm slammed into Cain's back before he could recover his balance.

In the following instant, an incredibly violent repulsive force detonated.

Cain felt his backbone shatter and his skull fracture as he was driven into the dirt, carving a massive crater into the ground.

Intense agony flooded his senses. Although the Depravita Aura began mending his body in a heartbeat, his limbs were barely responsive.

Gritting his teeth against the pain, Cain forced himself up, gripping his weapon through sheer tenacity as he scanned the area for the Ancient One.

"BOOOM!"

A strike to the stomach landed before he could even find his target. The force made it feel as if his physical form were being pulled apart. Just as he was about to be sent flying, a hand clamped onto his leg and slammed him back into the earth with bone-crushing power.

The Scarlet King coughed up mouthfuls of blood as every bone in his body vibrated from the impact.

The trauma was so extreme that his mind began to grow hazy.

Yet, Cain refused to surrender.

Contorting his body, he launched a kick with his free leg, but the strike never came near the Ancient One’s head.

The Ancient One let go of Cain’s leg only to seize him by the face, grinding him into the soil once more. The Scarlet King felt as if the weight of the entire world was crushing his skull, a pressure so vast it felt as if his head would burst at any moment.

Such pressure could be lethal, even with the aid of the Depravita Aura.

To make matters worse, the force contained a potent sealing energy that stifled Cain’s counterattacks, pinning him down.

The Ancient One looked down at him with an icy stare, devoid of even a shred of pity.

"I shall tell you this once," he declared, his voice completely flat. "Submit, and you shall not only live, but you shall rule at my side."

His gaze grew even more ruthless.

"But should you persist in your refusal, I promise you—I will extinguish your True Name this very moment."
