The Corruption Dragon God: Lust System Chapter 531 I can't leave

The Emperor and Empress stood in as surrogate family for Long Qingyi during his wedding to Jin Meilin, an unprecedented honor that drew gasps from the assembled guests. Vows of eternal love and loyalty were solemnly exchanged under the watchful eyes of the Gold King and the imperial monarchs, sealing the union with a passionate kiss amid thunderous applause and the vibrant strains of music. A lavish banquet followed, featuring exotic delicacies from across the realms, though the couple's joy was tempered by obligatory socializing. As midnight approached and the hall emptied, Qingyi carried Meilin to their bridal chamber for a night of tender embrace, yet his mind lingered on the shocking discovery of mana hearts in the Emperor, Empress, and guards—signs pointing to deep demonic corruption within the imperial family, a concern he confided to Ruxue.

Careful not to disturb Meilin's sleep, Qingyi slipped from her arms, rising from the bed to plant a gentle kiss upon her forehead.

Extending his hand, he summoned the Heaven-Defying Thunder Sword straight into his palm, as a lengthy black cloak swiftly draped over him.

Darkness engulfed his form, and within an instant, Qingyi had vanished entirely from the chamber.

Despite the presence of Astral Body Realm experts all around, none detected his sudden exit.

Without a sound, Qingyi materialized next to the vast barriers encircling the imperial palace.

This grand edifice could easily accommodate thirty to forty thousand souls, including visitors, sentries, and

attendants.

Qingyi slipped past the initial batch of sentries guarding the outer barriers and quickly concealed himself beneath a tree's shadow in the imperial gardens, then invoked his Draconic Eyes.

All appeared in order. He detected numerous potent auras, and the protective arrays along with the sensing mechanisms functioned as intended.

Yet something lingered, an eerie and heavy sensation. Qingyi emerged from the gloom, laying one palm flat against the palace's walls.

He pulled back his hand at once. His gaze dropped, zeroing in on the underground vaults of the imperial palace. Demonic Qi pulsed there, exactly like the essence he had encountered among the fox people.

"A demonic seed..." Qingyi murmured, his eyes growing wide. It wasn't merely one.

Ten, twenty, a hundred, two hundred, three hundred.

Qingyi kept tallying without pause, his heart growing heavier. Over three hundred demonic seeds infested that spot alone.

Qingyi lifted his sight, locking onto the Emperor's Hand, that colossal war vessel of supreme might.

With fluid grace, he ascended into the air, his figure consumed by a rift in space.

Upon emerging once more, he hovered over the Emperor's Hand, scrutinizing the Qi currents throughout the area.

At minimum, fifty additional demon seeds lurked there, but that was far from the whole story. From his elevated vantage, Qingyi grasped the full severity.

The homes of prominent clans, trading hubs, and even the city's fortifications brimmed with demon seeds.

"But... why haven't the inhabitants fallen to corruption?" Qingyi pondered, recalling the fox folk.

Nearly every individual of that species bore a trace of demonic energy etched into their souls, stemming from an assault roughly twenty thousand years prior.

In this place, though, only the Emperor and Empress raised suspicion. Had they covertly sown all these demonic seeds?

Qingyi shut his eyes, his thoughts racing through countless scenarios each second. When they reopened, his form faded into nothingness once again.

He had to confer with his father-in-law.

Directly beneath the Hand of God, soaring over the imperial city, Jin Hao had made his way back to his study.

His gaze held a mix of emotions as he settled into a chair, cradling his wife Yunfeng close.

"Do you believe we handled it well?" Yunfeng inquired, savoring her husband's tender touches.

Jin Hao had fathered numerous offspring before, yet for her, it differed. Meilin stood as his sole and cherished daughter.

"And why wouldn't we have? She's wed to a gifted husband who adores her. Her own aptitude surpasses our wildest dreams."

"She'll depart from us before long." Yunfeng let out a breath.

"Isn't that to be expected? Consider Qingyi's prowess. He won't linger in this forsaken realm much longer... our girl isn't meant for here."

Yunfeng's mouth opened, but words escaped her. Her eyelids fluttered shut then open, and she rose to her feet.

"Join me in the chamber; I'll await you there~" Her tone rang out, warm and inviting, as she left the Gold King behind.

Jin Hao stayed put in quiet, pouring a measure of spirits for himself. Nearby, he felt a ripple in the Qi as a silhouette took shape.

"Son-in-law? What brings you here so late?" Jin Hao questioned, spotting the grave look on Qingyi's features.

"I must discuss this with you alone," Qingyi answered, pausing briefly. "Do you realize the Emperor and Empress practice demonic cultivation?"

The Gold King dismissed the claim as jest, clutching his midsection with his right hand while chuckling.

"Demonic cultists? Son-in-law, are you jesting?

Do you grasp what you're implying? The Emperor could never be

a demon cultivator."

The Gold King bellowed with laughter, but it died quickly. Qingyi's face stayed stern and steady.

"Are you certain?" The Gold King hushed his tone.

"During my journey to the western continent, I vanquished an avatar of the Heavenly Demon. Have you heard that title?"

"Hm? No. I've glanced at old scrolls hinting at something like it, but... no." Jin Hao denied with a shake of his head.

"He's a formidable power from the Celestial Heaven, a genuine demon apparently exploiting the Immortal Heaven for trials, granting cultivators mana hearts and mana wielders dantians.

Both the Emperor and Empress of the Enlightened Empire, along with Emperor Rose, harbored both forces."

He extended his arms, channeling Qi in one palm and Mana in the other. In that instant, Jin Hao's stunned expression twisted into deeper shock.

He rose on unsteady feet.

Qingyi truly wielded Qi and Mana at the same time, an impossibility by all accounts.

"Father-in-law, I urge you to escape with me. Hundreds of demon seeds lie buried beneath the imperial capital, and they'll eventually awaken."

Qingyi exhaled deeply, foreseeing the carnage that would ensue.

"I cannot abandon this." The Gold King refused with a head shake.

"My safety isn't at risk. That wretched elder guards me, and moreover, this vessel is a flying bastion. One command, and we're gone."

Getting to his feet, Jin Hao approached the window's sill, gazing at the splendid capital sprawling below.

For more than fifty thousand years, he had toiled to forge his commerce domain. He wouldn't relinquish it lightly, regardless of Qingyi's warnings.

Ultimately, the youth merely shook his head in resignation. A single glance from the Gold King conveyed his father-in-law's unyielding stance.

"I'm heading to the fox people's territory shortly. I'll come back at once," Qingyi murmured before shadows claimed his body.

"Don't you dare perish without Meilin's say-so."
