The Corruption Dragon God: Lust System Chapter 528 - Yunfeng

Within just a handful of days, the imperial authorities stepped in to probe the demise of the third young master's mother from the Five-Color Pavilion.
Of course, being an Ancestral Empress, despite her limited fighting strength,
she remained a vital figure and was greatly esteemed by the imperial powers.
Her vanishing, together with roughly 300 elite guards, certainly caught everyone's attention.
Yet, despite all clues directing toward Meilin, the searchers uncovered zero traces of her, not a hint of where she might have gone.
Meilin's estate, supposedly her target for assault, stood flawless. Absolutely no traces of bloodshed or conflict.
Once a week had passed, the probes shifted direction, suspecting outside influences and even consulting Divination Masters to guide their efforts.
As the imperial troops pressed on with their inquiry alongside the Five-Color Pavilion and the kin of the third young master's mother, Jin Hao turned his attention to a far weightier concern.
His daughter Jin Meilin's upcoming wedding.
He'd secured the grandest pavilion in the capital for rent, bringing in cooks and performers from every corner of the continent, pouring out riches that matched the annual funds of whole cities.
He went further, employing security featuring ten Ancestral Emperors and a hundred Immortal Emperors solely to safeguard the vast pavilion's perimeter.
With the Enlightened Emperor gracing the event as a guest, this degree of protection and extravagant spending was precisely what one would
anticipate from the Gold King.
As the arrangements neared completion, Qingyi needed to handle yet another issue.
Meilin's mother, away tending to her clan's territories, was set to come back to the imperial capital at last.
"Are you anxious?" Qingyi inquired, reaching the imperial docks with Meilin by his side, one hand gently settling on the beauty's shoulder.
A modest group of attendants trailed after them. Needless to say, it was
pointless, merely a hollow ritual arranged by the Gold King.
"Yes..." Meilin confessed following a brief pause. "I haven't seen my mother in years, and, well... she wasn't exactly pleased with me departing the imperial capital to manage a branch of the pavilion independently."
Letting out a sigh, the beauty wrapped her arms around Qingyi, pressing her face into his robes while letting him lead her forward.
In mere minutes, they reached the spot, a barren area that wouldn't stay empty for much longer.
Amid the scores of vessels arriving and departing every short while stood a gilded vessel emblazoned with the Five-Color Pavilion's emblem.
Plenty of others displayed that mark, yet none rivaled its opulence, its length rivaling that of a freighter.
As the vessel pulled in, Meilin retreated a pace, clutching Qingyi more firmly.
Soon after, a lady emerged atop the deck, leaping down without delay to touch ground before the youthful pair.
She wasn't a stunning vision, not by Qingyi's measure at least. Her features were plain, her form curvaceous yet unremarkable, her eyes profoundly shadowed, and her smile soft and kind.
This was Yunfeng, famed as the White Heron of the Five-Color Pavilion, offspring of an Astral Body Realm powerhouse, who clearly took after her sire's prowess in battle.
Her gaze locked straight on Meilin, bypassing Qingyi entirely.
Arms spreading wide, eyes shutting with a look of hurt. "What's troubling you, girl? Won't you offer your weary mom an embrace?" she queried, her tone brimming with affection.
Meilin gulped, pulling from Qingyi's hold and dashing into her mother's waiting arms.
"I missed you, Mom..." she murmured, tears welling in her eyes.
"I missed you too, dear. You were just a kid when you went away from me, but see you now—you've snagged a fellow and you're set to abandon your mommy once more!" Yunfeng complained, pinching Meilin's cheeks.
"That happened three years back, Mom, I wasn't a kid anymore..." Meilin averted her gaze, a faint blush coloring her cheeks.
"Hm... to me, you're forever that tiny tot taking her first steps! You'll always be, fufufu~~," Yunfeng chuckled, at last detecting Meilin's Qi. Her eyes bulged as she recoiled in astonishment. How could Meilin have progressed so swiftly in so little time?
The flawless beauty grasped her mother's thoughts in an instant, swiveling her head toward Qingyi.
"It's all because of my husband and my other sisters too," she stated truthfully, drawing her mother's focus from herself to the striking
youngster observing the scene from nearby.
"Greetings, mother-in-law. I am Long Qingyi." Qingyi inclined his head, cupping his fists beneath Yunfeng's intricate stare.
"Hm..." Advancing a step, she lifted her hands to Qingyi's features,
compelling him to meet her gaze.
"Ah... my precious girl has impeccable taste in suitors, flawless even here!
You're fortunate, you realize?" Yunfeng giggled, veiling her mouth with grace as she withdrew.
Extending her arms, she placed them upon his sturdy
shoulders.
"I merely wish for you to cherish my daughter, honor her, and shield her. Should you falter there, I vow that even from beyond the grave, I'll turn
your existence into endless torment."
Yunfeng delivered these words with such serene poise and ease that they scarcely registered as a warning, holding onto the identical tranquility and warmth she directed at her child, now turned toward Qingyi. "He won't falter there, Mother." Meilin positioned herself amid them. "Let's head home, alright? Dad's wrapping up the final wedding touches, and I need you with me for picking my gown." "Hm..." Yunfeng pondered briefly before agreeing with a nod, signaling her attendants to manage her vessel prior to seizing her daughter's hand and hastening onward, outpacing Qingyi and the escorts. 'Ah... that woman!' Qingyi grinned wryly, loosening up before hastening
his stride too.
People like Yunfeng didn't irk him at all—in fact, the opposite held true.
Ultimately, could anything surpass someone who grasped their desires and stated them plainly?
