The Conquerors Path Chapter 1002 - 1000-My Land.
Previously on The Conquerors Path...
Should everything unfold smoothly, the ancient vampire herself will seek me out shortly, yet depending on the unfolding events, I'll need to keep certain strategies hidden. Reflecting on these ideas, I dispatched a message directly to Ralph. He would promptly direct the assembled individuals to erect all the necessary frameworks.
With a formidable supporter in the realm of paths, I can now genuinely commence managing my group, which proves far from easy. I'll have to gather subordinates, construct the framework for my organization, claim territories and influence, attract mighty figures, develop loyal adherents, and amass prowess to rival numerous such elements.
Essentially, my organization remains merely a concept on paper. Backed by such a seasoned, potent alliance, I gain the authority to manifest it into existence, allowing me to advance, enlist members, form hierarchies, and extend assurances selectively. Yet, as usual, I'll encounter resistance and obstacles.
To counter those, I'll receive assistance through reinforcements from DarkNight—operatives who'll aid in shaping the complete layout and dynamics. They'll assume this is merely DarkNight's ploy to exert control. Most view it as DarkNight's bid to seize authority in the war council, and plenty oppose that outcome.
Indeed, when I first gained the power to form a group, it was dismissed as a farce, since no one believed any organization would endorse me. Should one have, they intended to dismantle or suppress it, but that strategy fails now with a battle-hardened, mighty organization supporting me.
I pondered that notion, for as soon as I exited the elevator, I sensed the gazes fixated on my power once more, the collective scrutiny intensifying beyond prior levels. Since arriving here, I've endured monitoring from various quarters, yet it feels amplified now. Fissures always appear where they must.
Thus, I didn't resist any of it, regrettably. I accepted it calmly while proceeding onward, navigating the throng, slicing through. Despite my prestigious role as an organization head, to others, I'm merely a frantic bird flapping about, doomed to perish soon, as no amount of support could shield me from the treacherous intrigues of the war council.
That might hold true in ordinary circumstances, but currently, numerous rifts have emerged in the war council, the humiliating strike unsettling their ironclad stance, thereby opening doors that were previously sealed.
I contemplated inwardly. Prior to launching my bold assault against the entire war council, I'd carefully considered multiple aspects. Several influences under the war council's watch chafe at their hubris and dominance. Bound by agreements, they can't abandon the war council due to the binding clauses.
However, that doesn't prevent them from shifting allegiances away from their current organizations. A fresh, budding, inexperienced group appears ideal for gaining greater freedom and empowerment. The sole drawback until now was my apparent fragility, like a flimsy structure ready to collapse, deterring any involvement.
Yet presently, I resemble a sturdier construct. Securing this endorsement opens vast prospects for management, and here, acquiring authority extends beyond mere numbers. Larger groups command greater influence over global commerce, authority, regulations, enhanced aid, entry to exclusive assets from the war council, plus perks like safeguarding.
No escaping that reality, for it's the unvarnished fact. As the budding organization I represent, membership is virtually nonexistent, so expansion hinges on drawing in influential allies. Remarkably, various formidable Imperials linger unaffiliated, reluctant to align with existing ones.
Still, how could I sway them when others couldn't?
I smiled to myself at that query, but armed with my assets and networks, the situation unfolds on an entirely new level now.
Thus, with swift strides, I hurried to one of the linked teleportation hubs to depart Vixuola’s domain and reach the core zones, this one resembling a welcoming chamber. My vision cleared to reveal a space as I nodded to the sorcerer and exited, stepping into an immense—and truly expansive—lobby.
Diverse races bustle about, numerous attendants are stationed throughout, and crowds queue up in abundance. As this edifice handles official and assorted duties, I proceeded without pause to the elite section, segregated in its own zone. Sturdy sentinels flanked the entrance. I displayed my emblem, and with an acknowledgment, they granted passage.
Stepping within, it transformed into a different realm. The crowd thinned, and the ambient mana here dazzled, surging vibrantly. Instantly upon entry, a female attendant, a human one, approached and inquired.
"Welcome, sir. Might you have a reservation?"
"Yes. It's for a session to finalize my base site."
I responded while presenting a particular parchment with a distinctive emblem, swiftly authenticated.
"This way, please, Lord Rex."
"Appreciated."
I answered as an elven lady guided ahead, her expression soft and welcoming. I trailed her across the spacious atrium into a corridor, passing various chambers until we arrived at a specific portal. Its aura gleamed as she unlatched it for me, revealing an adjoining passage.
"Please, follow me."
She proceeded through, and I accompanied, emerging onto an expansive terrain. Upon arrival, my gaze fixed on the rugged gray soil. Scanning around, I noted the widespread ashen foliage, and through my perception, I detected traces of potent corrupting essence permeating the area.
As far as sight stretched, vegetation was scant. The terrain proved harsh. For considerable distance, it remained barren expanse, isolated save for the gateway linking to this domain.
"You're fortunate, Lord Rex. This ranks among the largest unclaimed territories available to any head in the expansive war council holdings. It's yours now."
I ignored the elven lady's smiling remark. Each head receives designated territories in the war council domains to develop their organization. It's enormous, surpassing united realms. Unique zones tied to potent rifts, and I'm now in one such underutilized spot owing to its nearness to a massive rift—distant yet hazardous.
"What a splendid location."
I commented, causing the elven lady's grin to falter slightly. I'd anticipated such underhanded tactics from the start, since though I hold the rank, it's devoid of substance.
"So, I presume you're content with the territory?"
"Absolutely, it's perfect,"
I affirmed.
"Then, kindly sign here to claim it under your authority. Upon completion, all formalities will conclude shortly."
"Of course."
With that, I accepted the parchment, inscribed my mark, and imprinted my distinct mana seal, linking it to myself. The elven lady's grin broadened at my compliance, surely anticipating a fine incentive for this feat.
"Er... is there anything further you need, Lord Rex?"
"No, you may depart. I'll linger here awhile."
"Very well."
She responded before hastening off. The spot unnerves her somewhat too. After her exit, I stood alone, grinning. For me, any terrain could turn ideal. With my wealth and ties, erecting something magnificent here poses no challenge. Diligence will transform this into a flourishing haven.
With that notion, the vision started to solidify.
