The Bloodline System Chapter 1680 1680: I Always Come Back

Previously on The Bloodline System...
Gustav’s Outworldly aura undergoes a primordial evolution, allowing him to defy the Overseer’s conceptual prison and physically tear through its indestructible bars. Desperate to maintain control, the Overseer resorts to a forbidden taboo, forcibly absorbing the surrounding deities—including Nocturnis—into his own body to fuel his failing strength. Despite this horrific transformation and the reinforcement of the cosmic seals, Gustav shatters the prison and launches a devastating physical assault. The Overseer is left reeling as Gustav’s overwhelming power begins to tear through his monstrous form and the very fabric of reality.

A blade of pure Outworldly energy manifested from Gustav’s hand.

SWOOOSH—SHIIINK!

A single slash tore through the Overseer’s torso, rending fifty layers of conceptual shielding, essence, and divinized flesh. The gash erupted, discharging a swirling black miasma that seeped out like a toxic fog.

The Overseer let out a piercing howl.

His cry shattered the remnants of reality, causing the nearby spatial fragments to collapse inward.

"You insolent—!"

Gustav drove his elbow downward with crushing force.

BAAAAAAAAAAAM!

Sent spiraling once more, the Overseer collided with a floating superstructure composed of shattered dark matter.

Despite his reeling state, the Overseer attempted a counterattack. He reached out with both hands, desperately pulling together the unstable, chaotic remnants of his stolen powers.

"DIVINITY—"

Before the incantation could finish, Gustav’s foot slammed into his jaw, snapping his head to the side and forcing the technique to fail.

The stolen divinities surrounding the Overseer sputtered and burst like ruptured sacs filled with molten essence.

"—ghhk—!"

"You are far too unstable to even maintain a thought," Gustav remarked coldly, his voice vibrating with an overbearing, oppressive power.

In a fit of rage, the Overseer roared and threw a wild punch. His fist, swollen with dozens of fused deity traits, carried enough force to fracture concepts.

Gustav flickered out of existence.

The massive blow hit nothing but empty air.

Reappearing behind his foe, Gustav hammered both fists into the Overseer’s spine.

KA-THOOOOOOOOOM!!

The Overseer’s back exploded, sending fragments of deity flesh flying into the void like shrapnel from a destroyed starship.

He tried one more time, firing projectiles forged from crystallized divine laws.

The moment they approached Gustav, they simply dissolved.

Gustav lunged forward.

His palm connected squarely with the Overseer’s abdomen.

WHOOOOOOOM!

A massive shockwave rippled outward, creating a wave of conceptual distortion. The Overseer’s very essence began to convulse with violence.

His monstrous shape began to glitch like corrupted data—shrinking, expanding, and flickering uncontrollably.

"You…" the Overseer panted, stumbling back, "…cannot… kill me…!"

"Kill you?" Gustav asked, tilting his head slightly. "You aren't even whole enough to comprehend the meaning of death."

The Overseer’s face contorted with pure terror.

A pinkish-red glow radiated from Gustav’s hand, releasing a domineering burst of energy.

He thrust his palm forward.

The resulting blast consumed everything in its path.

It tore through metaphysics, concepts, and laws alike. It swallowed the remaining planets, shredded the fabric of the cosmic background, and extinguished the final intact constellations forever.

The Overseer’s physical form reached its limit.

KAAAAAAA-BOOOOOOM!!!

He burst apart like a vessel overfilled with volatile divinity. His chest cavity shattered, cracking apart like stressed porcelain.

Hundreds of corrupted deities poured out of his ruptured body.

They were dripping with black miasma.

Deformed.

Squirming.

Wailing.

Their unstable, malformed shapes leaked a sludge of tainted essence that dissolved the surrounding space. They scattered in all directions like panicked insects fleeing a ruined hive.

A few tried to escape.

Some screamed in excruciating pain.

Others began clawing at the fabric of existence itself.

Gustav simply raised one hand.

They all froze in place.

Every single corrupted deity was halted mid-motion, suspended in the void.

Some were caught mid-flight, others mid-lunge, and some mid-shriek.

Gustav’s eyes burned with light.

His aura surged outward in a sweeping tide of magnificent Outworldly brilliance.

FWOOM—

A radiant pulse erupted from his body.

It traveled across the vacuum like a purifying flame.

The corrupted deities were vaporized instantly, transforming into streams of pure, glowing energy.

Beams of light manifested.

Hundreds of them.

All of them converged toward a single point.

They funneled directly into Gustav.

He absorbed every essence present.

Every deity.

Every tainted echo.

Every remaining fragment, including—

Nocturnis.

His shadowy figure dissolved into dark-blue and purple light before unraveling like mist and flowing into Gustav’s chest.

Only a single deity was left.

The Overseer.

He drifted there, half-destroyed.

A massive, gaping hole remained in his torso, leaking glowing divine essence into the dark.

Each breath he took was a ragged rasp, as if his existence was literally coughing itself into oblivion.

He looked at Gustav with a blend of defiance and sheer horror.

"Even… if you win…," he wheezed out, "…just look around you."

Gustav surveyed the surroundings.

There was only nothingness...

The universe had been nearly extinguished.

The stars were gone, and the planets were dust.

Reality was fractured.

The dimensions were in a state of collapse.

Existence itself was hanging by a thread thinner than silk.

"There is nothing left," the Overseer spat out weakly. "You cannot rule over a pile of ashes… Outworldly."

Gustav floated toward him.

For the first time, a faint smirk touched his lips.

"You seem to have forgotten," Gustav said softly, "that I am the Outworldly."

The Overseer’s eyes went wide.

"No—wait—"

Gustav pressed two fingers against the Overseer’s forehead.

The Overseer convulsed as every defensive layer he tried to manifest crumbled immediately.

Gustav’s aura surged with unparalleled power.

A swirling vortex of pinkish-red light pulled the Overseer in.

His form let out a final scream as Gustav consumed him entirely.

Unlike the forbidden techniques of the Overseer, this process was clean.

Absolute.

Definitive.

The Overseer did not fracture or melt.

He didn't explode.

He simply ceased to be.

His divinity, his essence, and his very conceptual existence were wiped out and absorbed in a single act of Outworldly consumption.

As the light faded, nothing of him remained.

Not a single particle.

Not even a lingering memory within the laws of reality.

He was gone forever.

A heavy silence followed the devastation.

There were no cosmic vibrations, no celestial winds, and no divine echoes.

Only Gustav remained, floating in the center of a dying universe.

Where vast galaxies once glittered, only tiny, drifting specks of dust were left. The splendor of creation had vanished, replaced by a void of endless shadow.

Nearby, only nine soft lights glowed within the safety of a protective cocoon.

Gustav reached out his hand.

With a snap—

PWAH!

A moon materialized beneath his feet.

In an instant.

It was a perfect sphere, complete with craters and granular details on its surface, as layers of metal, stone, and cosmic sediment fused together.

He commanded the atmosphere and oxygen into being.

Gravity followed.

A gentle breeze began to ripple across the newly formed surface.

The cocoon drifted down softly onto the moon.

Inside were:

E.E

Aildris

Falco

Elevora

Sersi

Ria

Xanatus

Endric

His family.

His comrades.

The people he refused to abandon to death.

He dissolved the protective barrier into harmless dust and descended, his feet finally touching the moon’s cool ground.

He stood in silence for a moment.

Then—

"GUSTAV!!!"

E.E’s voice broke with intense relief.

They charged forward as one, crashing into him in a desperate, collective embrace.

Aildris took hold of his shoulder.

Sersi clung tightly to his arm.

Falco nearly tackled him at the waist.

Elevora pressed her face against his chest.

Ria hugged him from behind, trembling.

Xanatus wiped his nose with a rough gesture.

Endric held onto his brother as if he would never let go again.

The force of their hug was enough to crush a mountain peak.

"You’re actually back…" E.E said, his voice thick with emotion. "And you saved our asses one more time…"

Gustav finally let out a breath, a rare smile appearing on his face.

"I told you," he whispered, holding them all close.

"I always come back."
