"What makes you think I cannot order my underlings to take you by force," Falkorn voiced with a tone of intimidation.

"Because you must be well aware of the disappearance of the others who were sent... Isn't it odd that they were all sent after one man... an old man like myself... yet they all vanished," Old Man Shin displayed a smile after speaking.

His words caused a small chill within the hover car as silence ensued for a bit.

"Fine. They will be reimbursed but we're taking you with us," Falkorn stated.

"Not a problem. If you will just wait a few minutes for me to gather my things," Old Man Shin voiced while moving to open the car door.

Pah!

A chubby hand reached out to grab him, "How do we know you won't escape?"

"Wouldn't you just terrorise the people of this settlement if I did? Just give me ten minutes. I'll be back," Old Man Shin voiced before stepping out of the hover car.

"My Lord, why would you let a low life make such demands?" The chubby figure by the side questioned.

"That man... is not ordinary," The feminine figure on the other end who was clad in all black with a ski mask voiced.

"It is as Sersi says. Since he is no ordinary man and we don't know what he is capable of, it is best I tread with caution especially when he agreed to do what I want. We are close to acquiring the answers, don't ruin it Demitris," Falkorn said with a tone of warning.

"I apologise my Lord,"

...

Outside the hovercar, the morning had begun with rainfall. The flames on the burning structures were starting to die down but the gloom was still present.

However, Old Man Shin addressed the people and explained to them that they would be getting reimbursements.

They faces beamed up with joy as they heard that and Lord Falkorn men began handing out cash to every single native.

Dildier and his men wanted to thank Old Man Shin after receiving theirs but they suddenly noticed he had vanished once more.

While this was ongoing, Old Man Shin was behind the settlement.

"It is finally time," He muttered while standing in the rain and staring upwards.

It was barely noticeable but not a single raindrop had managed to touch Old Man Shin. The reason for this phenomenon was unknown.

Old Man Shin went on to bring out a small piece of stick and began drawing a shape on the wet sand.

The rain should have prevented any outline from being properly formed on this terrain yet Old Man Shin successfully drew this circle.

He carved a bunch of weird markings within the circle and after a couple more seconds he squatted before it.

Old Man Shin proceeded to place his right palm on the circle, causing a reaction to play out.

Sshiiiiiiiizzzhhhhhh~

The outline on the ground emitted a blinding glow sending forth an unfathomably pure energy across the vicinity.

Old Man Shin's short white and black hair danced due to the wind triggered from the surge of energy.

Thiiinnghhhh~ Thiiinnghhhh~Thiiinnghhhh~

More circular glows appeared around the circle Old Man Shin drew, extending further and further with him in the centre.

At the front of the settlement the natives, Dildier's men and Falkorn underlings all stared at the ground with bewildered expressions.

"What the hell is this?" Toxer voiced with a tone of shock and suspicion.

Chatter~ Chatter~ Chatter~

They could all feel the vibrance of the pure energy that circulated around the place but couldn't understand its appearance. The ground beneath their feet had glowing semi rings that extended as far as the eyes could see.

Falkorn stepped out of his car with pursed lips before turning to stare in a particular direction.

"There..." He pointed northwards.

Toxer and the men in black jackets quickly charged in the direction where they sensed the energy. However, before they arrived at the point of origin, the glow suddenly dimmed.

In the next moment, the energy vanished completely alongside the glowing ground.

When they arrived at the location of the highest sand dune in the vicinity, only Old Man Shin's figure could be spotted.

He began walking down the sand dune, "Let's go," He voiced while passing through their midst.

The men had looks of confusion and questions written all of their faces as they stared at him walking away.

Was this old man responsible for the light earlier?

How is it that the mysterious man we've been looking for just happens to be in the epicentre of this unknown phenomenon?

Is he even someone we should be messing with?

All sorts of questions ran through their minds as they followed after him.

"Hey... what was that light earlier?" Toxer questioned as he walked on Old Man Shin's right side.

"Who knows?" Old Man Shin smiled while responding.

'Tch... just who is old man?' Toxer could not help but feel unnerved.

They arrived back in front of the settlement and Old Man Shin bid the people farewell. Bruce stepped forward with Dildier to asked when he'd be back.

"Now... who knows? This might be the last time you two see me," Old Man Shin said with a warm tone.

"You don't have to go with them if you don't want to," Dildier said with a troubled tone.

"Yes Old Man Shin you don't have to... we could fig..." Before Bruce could complete his sentence Old Man Shin interrupted.

"I appreciate the concern but it will be fine. I do not need any help. I'll handle it as always," Old Man Shin winked.

Both of them instantly felt an unexpected wave of internal relief.

"Since we might never see each other again, make sure to stay safe," Old Man Shin stated.

"Hnm you too geezer," Dildier nodded in response.

"Thank you... for everything... Old Man Shin," Bruce's suddenly felt sad as he voiced out.

Old Man Shin ruffled his hair in response before turning around.

"Not a lot of us were fortunate to be blessed with a good mother so make sure you take care of yours," Old Man Shin's voice trailed off as he walked away.

Everyone watched as he got into one of the hover cars and soon they all sped out of sight.

Major crises had been successfully averted thanks to Old Man Shin's appearance. The natives were grateful to him once more especially since they had received compensation for their burnt homes.

It might take some time to rebuild but at least they weren't helpless. They would even have extra money left after reconstruction.

~ One Hour Later ~

"Hmm this city again eh?" Old Man Shin muttered as he stood within a spacious hall.

This was the same small city where Bruce's school was located.

"I assume you've never been to the great Oso Capital. Welcome to one of the best cities in the world," Toxer spoke with a slight tone of enthusiasm.

'Best city in this world you mean...' Old Man Shin thought while stepping forward.

At this point, Falkorn had taken position on the large gem structured seat ahead. It was quite beautiful but Old Man Shin eyebrows furrowed as he stared in its direction.

"Doesn't that hurt your butt when you sit on it?" Old Man Shin spat.

"Uh?"

"Eh?"

"Ah?"

Exclamations were heard from the sides as everyone's jaws nearly dropped. No one would every be bold enough to utter such words yet this old man did.

Sersi and Demitris who both stood by Falkorn sides secretly stared at his face to see how he would react to Old Man Shin voicing out something like this.

"No... not really," Falkorn answered.

'He replied?' Their eyes widened in shock.

Yes they were aware that the old man did not seem like an ordinary person but they also knew their boss wasn't an ordinary person as well. He usually wouldn't let such a thing slide, yet he did.

"Don't mind me, I was just a little curiou. Anyways, let's go straight to the point of why you've been looking for me," Old Man Shin stated.

The tension and curiosity in the air suddenly spiked after he spoke.

"The star crash..." Falkorn voiced.

"You want to know exactly what I saw because you wish to chase whatever energy was read and claim it as your own so you can rule planet Vesper, am I right?" Old Man Shin questioned with a calm tone.

A smile appeared on Falkorn's face, "Yes you are. On the night of the appearance of the star... unprecedented energy readings were detected. Whatever it was that crashed that night, was extremely powerful. If I could lay my hands on just a fraction of its power, world domination would be within my grasp..." Falkorn said with a tone that depicted incredible thirst for power.

"Yeah yeah yeah... you want to claim its power. Nothing new," Old Man Shin stabbed his index finger into his left ear and plucked out dirt with an uninterested look.

Yet Falkorn continued...
