"What the hell is going on? Have you guys heard the news about the dark faction continent?"
"Are you serious? What is happening to this game? First, those lunatics seize a bunch of light faction cities, and now they actually have an entire dark faction continent?"
"Mofos! Is this a dream? Son of a whore! Why does Blood Domain get all the good stuff?"
"Relax. It's probably just some insignificant city. There's no reason to panic. They couldn't possibly possess the assets and resources of our light faction continent. This whole situation is just an overblown farce!"
"Someone show me this damn dark faction continent right now. I need to see it, damn it! What even is it?"
Once again, the world was thrown into total disorder. On one side, light faction cities were falling like dominoes. Simultaneously, rumors of a new dark faction city surfaced. This fresh intel went viral instantly. Every player was desperate to uncover the truth behind this so-called dark faction continent! Even the super guilds were left speechless for once, as they hadn't even discovered the dark faction continent themselves yet.
Usually, uncovering something of that scale would require massive amounts of grinding and manpower just to trigger the related quests, yet somehow the Blood God already had access? How was this possible, especially since he only established that damned guild today?!
Regardless of the logic, everyone craved access to this brand-new continent and the immense potential and promises it offered. By this time, numerous spies and members from rival guilds had already managed to infiltrate Blood Domain. It wasn't as if Damon was strictly screening applicants. The entire guild was a disorganized mess, and within that chaos, many snakes and lizards lay hidden.
These spies specifically sprinted toward the newly constructed teleportation hub, eagerly handing over the gold coins required to use the portal.
As the initial wave of players stepped onto the dark faction continent, a flood of screenshots, photos, and videos began to saturate the world chat and local channels. Initially, people were indifferent because the portal deposited them in the middle of a wasteland.
However, the magnificent sight of mermen and merwomen soon came into view. Actual merfolk were there, gliding through translucent waters like shimmering jewels. Because the Blood Domain guild currently consisted of far more men than women, this revelation became a massive sensation.
"Broooo, what the hell is this??? Are those... mermaids???"
"OMFG, they are gorgeous! Like... seriously pretty! Look at the chests on these girls! Fuck, that's it. I'm a lifelong member of Blood Domain. I don't care anymore. Unless another guild gets a portal to this paradise, I'm going to die as a member of this glorious guild!"
The entire internet exploded in an uproar. Images and clips of Blood Domain members flirting cheerfully with the merwomen spread like wildfire. Light faction players were torn between screaming, weeping, uninstalling the game, or simply surrendering to become dark faction players themselves.
While they were still reeling from the trauma of wondering which of their cities would be turned into a poisonous wasteland next, the other side was busy laughing and chatting with mermaids.
There were other wonders as well. One video depicted a merman instructing a newbie on how to surf using a mana wave. Another featured a merwoman blowing a seductive kiss toward the camera. "Welcome, honored guests of the Blood King."
Meanwhile, a continuous stream of new images flooded in, each one more soul-crushing than the last for the opposition. A glittering underwater bazaar. Merfolk sentries patrolling atop sea serpents. A colossal palace bathed in moonlight, crafted entirely from living coral.
And at the heart of it all sat a massive obsidian throne, carved in the likeness of a serpent coiled around a great pearl.
When players inquired about the owner of the throne, they received a shocking answer. Blood God was the faction leader! Blood God was the Blood King?!!!
The rest of the world was only just learning that the dark faction existed, yet this man was already a faction leader?!!
That was when World Chat detonated.
"No. No. No. No. No. I refuse to believe it. Reboot the game. I want a restart, damn it!"
"How the fuck does he already have a faction leader title?? We haven't even unlocked that questline yet."
"Are you telling me this guy owns an entire continent and a harem of mermaids?!"
"I can't breathe. Someone hold me. I'm going to throw up."
The guild masters of the Light Faction suffered complete mental breakdowns. One hurled his helmet across the room. One threatened a lawsuit against the game developers. One sought a hug from his wife, only to be rejected, making his misery even worse. Another simply curled into a fetal position, whispering, "He has a throne..."
In less than ten seconds, the Light Faction players collectively cycled through the five stages of grief.
Denial... "This has to be photoshopped. Right? RIGHT???"
Anger... "Fuck this game, I swear if Blood God conquers another city, I'm binning my helmet."
Bargaining... "Maybe... maybe if we pay him... he'll stop poisoning us?"
Depression... "My auction house... my life savings... my storage vault... all gone... and he gets mermaids..."
Acceptance... "I guess I'm moving to the dark faction now."
While the Light Faction spiraled into despair, the members of Blood Domain were losing their minds with excitement. Players were shouting, dancing, kissing their menus, proposing to NPCs, and taking selfies with mermen riding mana-sharks.
One Blood Domain member began livestreaming himself from the coral throne, yelling, "We are royalty now, peasants! Bow before our king!" Many others joined in, chanting rhythmically. "Blood King! Blood King! Blood King! Blood King!"
Even the spies who had originally joined Blood Domain to sabotage it immediately abandoned their missions.
"New plan. We aren't sabotaging anything. We stay here. We thrive."
"I'm not reporting a single thing back to my guild. They don't deserve this paradise."
"I'm marrying a mermaid. Goodbye."
Within ten minutes, half of the infiltrators were talking to NPC mermaids like lovestruck teenagers, while the other half recorded everything as if they were witnessing the birth of a new religion.
And just as the madness reached its peak...
One of the dark faction players finally succeeded in reaching a demon town.
